Guru, When you say it's difficult, do you mean you've contacted Customer Service and they haven't been able to do it? I'll just repeat that we can't do this automatically because of the implications that would have for customers who do not want their maintenance co-terminated. Denny
-
You can definitely co-terminate maintenance, but you must call us and ask for it. We can't do it without a request. For a variety of accounting reasons, we can only co-term for terms longer than 12 months. We can also merge accounts, but you must call in and ask. We cannot, however, merge any older accounts from ipMonitor.

I can't be more specific that this, but "soon".

We're taking a look at the start-up time and slowness that folks have seen now. There was a late change we made between RC and release that may be the source of these problems. When we have more information or need any additional information, we'll let you know. If you haven't already, you may want to open support tickets…
-
If just want performance data on the host, you'll need virtual center. If you want performance data on the VMs, you can do that by managing each VM. Set up traps on the host to send to Orion when certain problems appear.
-
Thanks! The new case just got escalated up to engineering today, we'll take a look.

mmm ok...because i need to trace the activity of system administrators (here in Italy system admins actions on servers as to be logged)...do you have some suggestions?
-
The only flow capabilities in LEM right now are to collect flows and display top talker info (by bytes or packets per host or port). There hasn't been much drive to utilize flow data further, and some question of what would be more well suited to do in NTA/NPM and raise to LEM so the systems can work better together.
-
Good suggestion, Brian. I've added it to the queue.

Here's the situation. The node panel is still there. It's adjustable, so it's just somehow gotten dragged closed. The trick is to move your mouse all the way to the left edge of the map maker screen. Hover until your cursor turns to a double-sided arrow. At that point, you can click and drag to the right, and your panel…

Have you viewed this video? www.solarwinds.com/.../index.html If that doesn't help, you probably need to open a Support ticket.
-
Yes, you can use the UnDP UI to unassign multiple pollers at once.
-
No formal integration. Since Splunk takes syslog as input, it's fairly straightforward to forward alerts to it. You can also have it fetch the NPM event log.
-
Handy tip - if you have a filter that shows you what you're interested in in real time, you can always go Gear (on the top left) -> send to nDepth to search for the same data historically. You might want to use an Alert/Event Group to expand to all types of "Auth Audit Events" (not just individuals) - something like Auth…

kbrookov, did you ever get your migration to work? Did you try exporting/importing using supernets? We need to migrate IPAM from our Dev server to our production server. Has anyone migrated successfully IPAM from one NPM database to another NPM database? Has anyone used Peter's method?
-
Should I also open a support case for this? Only if you want to be notified when it's fixed. We'll work on it either way, but we won't be able to track it against your customer ID.
-
I'll need to analyse what happened but the delay has now gone. Some users still had it but after deleted their temporary internet files and cookies, the delay disappeared for them as well. Thread closed.
-
Would it be better if we just allowed full Active Directory integration.
-
If you set reset condition = trigger condition, the alert will fire and reset while the condition is true. But that doesn't clear the alert. It just has it off, so I'm not sure if that's what you need.
-
Do you have a Support case number? If not, can you open one today?
-
Alas, since LEM can't execute a script action, that's not an option yet either, but that would probably be another way... I found some references to being able to send a Lync message as a script. There also exist email-to-IM gateways but that seems like the same kind of overkill
-
Yes we did.

quote:Originally posted by nwood Has anyone reading this experienced CPU spiking (90%+) on a Cisco device as a direct result of regular SNMP polling? Every 5 minutes (to the second), I'm getting a CPU utilization spike on the device to which our NPM server is connected... but not any of the other, virtually identical (as…

1. We keep as-received data for the setting of “Uncompressed data” 2. We roll up as-received data form 1 min segments to 15 minute segments each 15 minutes and put it to NetFlowSummary1 table 3. We then roll up 15 minute segments every X hours to hourly data NetFlowSummary1 - This table holds the summarized historical data…

I already have a Config Ignore filter setup to match "^recommission server" but NCM randomly ignores my ignore filter. Very annoying
-
With our uses, I have had data show up within 24-30 hours of Netflow being setup on the device. I wonder if it might be getting the information in a form it doesn't recognize. If it is looking for it in a version 5 format and getting it in version 9 (or vice versa) format, it could be getting the information, but not know…

I re-ran the Config Wiz on both NPM and NCM and made changes on the Website Services. It will only let me use port 443 (https) once. If I assign it to NPM, then NCM will have to be assigned to regular http > port 8888. Is there a way I can make both NPM and NCM use SSL? Also, I still don’t see NCM when I launch NPM Web…

Well, that would be me, and while I appreciate the offer, I'm going to have to pass. :-) I appreciate that that this feature is a high priority for you, but there are many feature requests from many customers literally every day. I do my best to prioritize. This feature is in the queue, but it's not going to happen in a…

Hi I tried a lot today and finally found a config that works: access-list 1 permit host NMS-HOST snmp-server view orionview mib-2 included snmp-server group oriongroup v3 priv read orionview access 1 snmp-server user orion oriongroup v3 auth sha AUTH-KEY priv aes 128 PRIV_KEY The access is read-only and limited to…

Orion 8.5 allows you to specify a different SNMP port.
