Done! Thanks for the link! I sure hope someone listens!

I'm also in great need of being able to query multiple ports behind 1 IP address. I am monitoring multiple networks with overlapping IP addresses so it would be nice to be able to do this through port forwarding. The Node table uses "nodeid" as its unique key so why would it matter if the IP address was not unique?

I am running Orion v10.0.0

ICMP-only won't work. We need to be able to see it via SNMP in Orion.

I am not using any filter it set to none. the RFC 3164 doesn't work at all and agian i seem to get only test messages and not the actual logs. When i test the "forward to host" i get this: <191>Original Address=192.168.0.1 This is a test message from Kiwi Syslog Server

Right. You shouldn't need a license for the web servers. It's in Additional Components. We made a change a few months ago, so some folks on our side may be confused. Sorry about that.

One thing that just came to mind - if your file audit alerts are the subtypes (FileWrite, FileRead, FileAuditFailure, etc) and not just the parent FileAudit event itself, you'll want to use the "File Audit Events" event group instead of using the specific File Audit event itself. That way all of the subtypes are also…

Well I thought it was enable on our AIX boxes but my AIX guy says it's not. May have to change that, will reply if/when that happens if I still can't get it working. Thanks much!

As far as I know, no actions are applied to the archive by NCM, maybe one of the SolarWinds Staff can clarify. thanks James

actually most of the fields you need are already in the NPM database. any that are not you could add to it. no real reason to store the data in a separate database. just makes more issues with compatibility and maintenance you can pull all the fields into the alert when you are creating it as the guy above said with the…

We're going to fix this in the next release, which is just around the corner.

A port is either assigned to one port, a collection of ports (new in NTA 3.0) or it is “unmonitored traffic”. If it is unmonitored traffic, then as it is collected, it is summarized all in the one bucket of “unmonitored traffic”. Note that NTA only saves data down to 1-minute granularity.

Crap! I was typing Get-OrionNode and NOT Get-OrionNodeID It works using the correct command....

My fault. The installation note did indicate that I must be on Orion NPM v10.2.1. I installed the hotfix on Orion NPM v10.2. I thought the the hotfix would take me to v10.2.1. Sorry for the confusion. I think an installation program would have avoided this, rather to have an end-use go and manually replace files.

Wanted to update you, I could not get Get-OrionNode to work for me. I rewrote that part of my script as below. Its works as I expected it to. Not sure if I am just not understanding Get-OrionNode or not. I appreciate your work on PowerOrion, I am using this as part of a PowerShell GUI for my Junior Admins to ensure that…

Really. The test feature has always been useless.

You can customize the report to pull the last 24 hours. Are you saving all of your syslogs? Or are you filtering?

I’m getting this: System.ArgumentException: Unable to parse argument '$' as GUID ---> System.FormatException: Expected {0xdddddddd, etc}. at System.Guid.GuidResult.SetFailure(ParseFailureKind failure, String failure MessageID, Object failureMessageFormatArgument, String failureArgumentName, Exce ption innerException) at…

There may be something about the MIB that mis-behaves at 8 TB. We have heard of a couple of cases, but no customer has ever actually opened a case and given us the addition data we would need to solve the problem. Maybe you'll be the one. If you open a Support ticket, we'll certainly look at it.

did u get this fixed? we are on 10.5 and have the problem

I see an issue with Custom Properties and the UnDP as well. I can see my custom properties in the Node Grouping drop down menu, but when I try to select one I get an error that says: "An item with the same key has already been added". The property I selected is a Yes/No value. borgan, that's definitely a problem you…

Is this the thread you are talking about: Office Average Availability - Last 30 Days ? It appears that this is the 3rd version. When did you make the last change?
-
It's something we're looking into, but I can't promise anything yet.

Actually, i didn't notice until your reply that this was for ipMonitor instead of NPM.

After the install finishes, I get the error Could not connect to net.tcp://emc2-cnm1:0/orion/core/businesslayer. The connection attempt lasted for a time span of 00:00:00. TCP error code 10049: The requested address is not valid in its context x.y.64.10:0. Where x.y. is the first 2 octets of our IP address space. It…

We will remove them. And in APM 2.0, we're introducing an easier way to browse a server for services and processes.

This is a great idea Jesper!!!!! Brandon, book this one as a most desired feature request.
-
Just to follow up, we are experiencing the same issue now with SP3 and we are currently working on a open ticket with Orion. We've just recently done the sp3 upgrade.
-
We can't do status polling via SNMP, but we will be adding that feature..
