Self giving presents = the best!

That is awesome - I'd even asked Tech Support how to do this and they said it couldn't be done. THANK YOU!!!

James, Your original request asked for taking the serial number from NCM and posting to a NPM custom property. The following query should work. -- In the example below my NCM database is called configmgmt552 -- My NPM database is called netperfmon -- My CP in NPM is called SerialNumber -- Rename your databases as required.…

This is done within SQL Server Studio Manager in version 2005.

Hey qbarry, Could you please share here the feature requested created? Thanks!

It has historically been difficult to do, and every new version of Crystal Reports slightly changes the way that you access the database. When I was working with LEM, we had got it working with several customers/partners and internally in development/QA, but I can't say it was always smooth. The database that backs LEM is…

update: i think the 3rd poller upgrade has hung on the "configuring netflow traffic analyser" which is not even used ont his damn poller, and i only have a tiny amount of netflow going to the box... what on Earth next...

But, it's not as fast or versatile as the system console Can you give me specific examples of where it's less versatile? What do you want the web to do that it can't? I don't ask to be defensive: We want to give you what you need, so every example we can get is something we can add to the web console.

Applications with problems is an APM resource. Look under APM Application Summary Reports - Resources that display overall application status. What you want is called "Applications by Current Status". Rename it to "applications with problems" and set it to show everything that's not in an "up" state.

7200ms is quite high already, but if your network is that bad you're always going to have trouble keeping monitoring stable regardless of the tool you use. All you can do really is tweak the settings until you get the accuracy you need.

I see what's happening. It's bringing resources up for: CBQoS Pre-Policy Map CBQoS Drops CBQoS Post-Policy Class Map CBQoS Policy Details On some interfaces but not others, even though there is QoS on the interface(and it's the same router). Now to figure out why.

yes I am - what exactly is it?

So, let me see if I've got this: * Pick a report * Go to "Schedule" * In the task scheduler popup, create a daily scheduled task for 5:45 AM * Back in the reports scheduler, pick "User Defined" timeframe* Select 5:00 AM (today) and 4:59 AM (tomorrow) * Specify an export path and confirm all the settings * Let the report…

Have you tried re-running the Configuration Wizard? Just check the Web checkbox.

yes, what i have done was to change the poll metod and repair the job engine, job engine 2 and collector, that is how this works for me.

When you set the rule to fire on 1 in 40 seconds, does it fire once, or does it fire twice back to back? If it only fires once, it sounds like only one event is being generated. You could confirm that with a filter in Monitor for the exact same criteria (UserLogonFailure.DetectionIP=172.20.154.*).

This is a known bug, and it will be fixed in Service Pack 3, which is due out in the next couple of weeks.

Denny: 1) What about the subtitle option? In v8.1, I could use a subtitle. Now my "cryptically named" custom properties are the only subtitle available... 2) Along the same lines, is there an easy way to change custom property names?
-
Problem is not the right word. Ugly is closer <grin>. I just like the cleaner look of how it was in v8.1...
-
Thanks, I have already done so. I'm awaiting their answer. I appreciate the assistance anyway, have a good day.

And/or a TCP port monitor for port 3389 My question to aLTeReGo and Denny... I read the MS article and prompts the question about how the TCP monitor works. Are the TCP connections terminated by the TCP monitor upon successful connection or is the connection expected to be timed out by the target system?

Every NetFlow packet contains and source and destination IP address.

This is for a mission. I was going through them and couldn't find any direction at all. That is all that it says is to "release a candidate tester for switch port mapper". Sorry if that is a little cryptic. Brandon

Ah! It is a "Warning" not an "Error", so what I had won't find it. This one should come in as a ServiceWarning. You have the option of building the filter/rule/search based on the Event ID if you want to be very specific, or some combination of the source and data in the event to be a little more broad. This should work,…

It wasn't for an extension, I am a NEW user and have never installed a license before. Right. Sales can extend the evaluation license. Sorry I wasn't more clear. Some simple FAQs would have saved a lot of time and hassle. We do have some FAQs (www.solarwinds.com/.../faq.aspx), but if they don't answer the question you were…

With Linux, you can try using the linux audit framework to audit access/changes to files. It's a little different than Windows auditing (I don't think it's as granular with regard to what types of access to audit - read/write/list/etc), but should accomplish a similar goal. Neither of them are really File Integrity…
