Thanks mezdem. Just what I was looking for. However, how can I change the sql to work for my timezone (GMT -5)?
-
Thanks for the update evanr. Strangely, most agents started connecting today without any changes! I'll try reinstallation and the remote installer on the remaining agents.

So are you using 2.5 or 2.0? It's not clear from the thread.

I can they keep going from green to unknown on several servers.

The trigger condition in the Advanced Alert Manager is "Last Boot has changed". The snapshot is included below:-

I had remembered that when I sent the message. What we have is a citrix server infront of the back end web servers that serve a cached page. I didn't think SAM had the ability, but I was asked to inquire anyway. What I am trying to do is to force the citrix server to repopulate a page. I'm not sure if it makes sense, this…

Here's what I can say: We will not ship the next major version of Orion without support for MIB Tables. That's as definitive as I ever get.
-
The plan is to move to web-based administration, which will make everything remote-able.
-
Are you saying then that I CAN add a vendor supplied MIB into Orion 8.5.1? Our MIB database has tens of thousands of vendor MIBs, and the custom MIB poller will leverage that DB (which is not the same as what's built-in), but even if we don't have that MIB, all the Custom Poller needs is the OID. You do not need the…

Nope. Still here -$30,000 and nothing to show for it. My maintenance expires Oct 2014. CAN'T WAIT!!! This is a basic request from any admin in the field and many other product can this with ease at the fraction of the cost. I am not say that SWI cannot do what I want. I am sure that it can. The bigger picture is on my…

When I select a map from the All Maps list, Orion seems to have some built-in feature that automatically re-sizes the map down. For example, here's a campus map which if displayed at 100% would require scrolling left/right, up/down to see the whole thing; which is what I want, but when I click to launch it, it's scaled…

Hi Patrick, Sorry, having a thick moment. I can't find how to get to the 'Action Rules'. I think there must be a step missing in 'If you go to Setup > Processes > Action Rules' Kind regards James

Thanks for your input. It didnt work. I cant access the fields so I can rename them etc. If there are any other OID's that return the values im looking for, I'd love to know :)

Do you mean help catch security events that might help you detect an intrusion or attempted intrusion, or using LEM as an IDS/IPS? I could not imagine getting LEM tuned enough to actually be the IDS/IPS! I could seeing sending IDS/IPS logs to LEM and triggering off of the logs. As a tools to "see" intrusions though, it can…

ggrapple, Can you please open a Support ticket? Alterego has one already. We'll want to get diagnostics from you. It would be more efficient that working it through the forum. Denny

Wireless is a flat fee. NTA and VoIP are tied to the size of the NPM installation because in both cases, the value of the product is tied directly to the size of the network. That is, even if you're only collecting NetFlow on some interfaces, the value of the traffic is a correlated with the size of the network.

I could see the numerous statistics come through, but when I ran the test against my test machine, the final status seemed to be tied to the last statistic in the results. If I had the first service in the list report back as "stopped", and the second service reported back with "running", the overall status of the test…

Well, I finally got a PowerShell script monitor built. The only catch is, some of the servers have multiple instances of the service with the common name. SO, I get multiple statistics back (provided I use the array to look for them). For example I might have: $svcName="GECS" $arrSVS=Get-WmiObject Win32_Service…

Thank you! I think what you said was enough to get me pointed in the correct direction! I see what I need now. :)

Thank for that hint. Seems my original problem was not one of authority after all. The client program my script is calling had some sort of internal API error which I'd misinterpreted as authority. My misunderstanding of the impersonation added to my problem. Mysteriously the API problem 'went away by itself' the other…

Cana component monitor be assigned directly to a node for monitoring yes, via the AppBuilder. Pick a component monitor and then at the end, you can assign it directly to a server Where are the individual component monitors listed, or do I have to configure them with the AppBuilder? The component library is showing you…

Orion is showing what the vendor is publishing. The vendor is not identifying themselves as anything other than net-snmp.

It's a new install. I'm running 12.3.0 - Build #12.3.0.471 I've tried in both IE 11 Version 11.0.9600.17843 and Chrome Version 43.0.2357.134m. I've cleared the cache in both, but still have the same results. I've noticed that with Chrome when I get system messages I can't close them because the 'X' doesn't display…

Can you add an access-list to make sure no rogue snmp polling going on Can you rate limit the snmp on your 4500's I have a couple 6500's that wig out from snmp on occasion. Going to a fixed IOS isn't an option because of other "bugs", only solution is a cold start.

Thanks so much for providing that. I'm going to install Dameware on a test machine and just to run the uninstaller. My goal is to create a script when a user logs in, run the MSIEXEC /X {ProductID} command to remove.

It is all set to No Auditing

It worked for a very short time until I changed the Admin password, or at least that is where it looked like it broke. I'm installing it on Windows server 2003 64bit. I installed the database on another Windows server 2003 64bit running MS SQL Server 2008.
