well done mate, love this sort of stuff.... is there anything we should be aware of when running this? did you run it while orion was up and running? i have 5 additional loaded pollers, so do not want to cause a catastrophic failure... could the solarwinds staff review this and acknowldge it as a supported practise? how…

Will all those "unplugged" interfaces count for licensing purposes or will their status need to be changed to "active" before they count? Yes. Those interfaces are fully monitored for stats, but instead of "down", they will show as "unplugged".

Yes. You would have to re-apply the hotfix. We're working on a more permanent solution.

Good idea! I tried this and yes, it increased to 10. Now the question is why doesn't the original query result in data? From the command line of the Orion server run it with the following syntax and it brings back data. osql -S 1xx.1xx.1xx.1xx -U UserName -P Password -Q "select count(*) As Queued_Emails from…

Here, I would use these instead. I found there were 2 different sets of OID's to monitor, one that was a text value and one that was an integer. Initially I was using the text value one and I think that was part of my problem. I wasn't able to use the "rate" type of poller because the value it was getting back wasn't a…

Take the long list of Full Name = Foo and tuck it under a Trigger this alert if ANY condition.

Can you open a Support ticket? This isn't a know issues, so you may have uncovered a new bug. We'll want to collect diagnostics, etc., so that we can reproduce and fix.

Try this: SELECT Nodes.Caption AS NodeName, Nodes.UnmanageFrom AS Unmanaged_From, Nodes.UnmanageUntil AS Unmanaged_Until, Events.Message AS Message, Nodes.StatusDescription AS Status_Description FROM Nodes INNER JOIN (Events INNER JOIN EventTypes Events_EventTypes ON (Events.EventType = Events_EventTypes.EventType)) ON…

So it wasn't enabled for the account I was using. Can i inport the snmp-trap-creceiver? It isn't in the 5 tools available.

I installed the toolbox 11.0 eval and it shows no tools. Do I have to import tools into it. I set it up to use my existing db. I've read through the amin on a few things and I can't seem to configure anything in it. All I see is My Tools and Recent Tools. I go into settings and it has an option for snmp string, but that is…

I'll try that, thanks for the help. I have a few traps in there, but there has been some changes since they were received from the device.

Hi Lawrence, Staying with reporting, I currently run a daily computer inventory of both WSUS servers as well as computer inventories of Active Directory across all our domains, using Patch Manager. This is great as the results of all inventories are combined under "Managed Computer" in Patch Manager. In order to ensure…

Don't worry; we won't take that away.

jbaulsir, Thanks for the reply, however I can create and display the custom poller with the correct information but it creates a new tabular universal device poller with header, title bar etc. Can I get this information to be displayed under the node details section as new line, say under IOS or Hardware lines. Thanks.

Thank you for replay but I think this is not the solution because I installed on APM server Oracle OLE DB Driver and in Net Assistant I creat connection and test returns me SUCCESFULL. For now I have: installed APM ,install OracleClient from Solarwinds webpage, install OLEDB drivers, added node and asign oracle monitor. On…

So if I wanted to do this hourly for a day I would need to create 24 alerts? How would I define the threshold for every hour? For example at 12:00am I want the threshold to be 1200 but at 6:00am I want the threshold to be 30.

Never mind, I figured it out. It took me a minute to see the "Enable Table Editing" button. Derp.

That seemed to be the problem.I do now get some output but not correct one. It still seems that the script doesn't still run correctly on the remote server.

Yes, AppInsight is active, but I am not quite sure how it helps me with my situation. Let's say I have a query like SELECT status FROM dummy WHERE id = 123456 I add a new component, I fill in the query, I select the user and afterwards I enter the instance name, let's say MYINSTANCE1 Now, without named pipes enabled, it…

Everything has some impact. Pinging more often has a cost, but statistics has a bigger impact because we're pulling a lot of data. If you're VM has the equivalent power of a physical server you will be fine. I would recommend against putting your DB on a VM unless you are using a physical disk and have experience running a…

Thanks for the post..... I have IPAM installed and subnets are now scanning... What I ended up doing was removing the IPAM install and reinstalling. Now I am left with another question. I have imported some 200 subnets from my tool set IP address manager. But I am only seeing the first 99 IP addresses out of a range of…

@neilmborilla, Thank you for the link. Here's what I found from that documentation: "Status polls provide the up-down status of an element. Statistics polls return detailed information, for example, memory usage, CPU load, and core temperature. "Orion checks up-down status every 120 seconds. For nodes, this information is…

Can you expand the various units and post another screenshot? I won't be able to upgrade to til the RC comes out but i'm just curious as to the other areas you are pulling in.
