For those who are interested ... EOC works as long as you do not have NPMs with hostnames containing underscore ("_") characters ... ASP .NET is finally following [at lest partially] DNS naming standards we were used to in past but began abandoning when using Microsoft Windows.

Thanks Tony, so I backup the db, then where do I run "update AlertDefinitions set NotifyEnabled=1 on the specific alert? in database manager?
-
fair enough. we'll work on that

I MIB Walked the device and end up with hundreds of OIDS with values. But how to tell which one is the delivery que? What I am looking for is fairly straight forward. I want to know what the delivery queues look like at any given time. Any recommendation?

Gotcha. Browsing now. Thank-you.

Whilst that does show the changed being made it simply shows 'System' as the username, we need to track who made changes within IPAM Thanks

Does this mean that up until now the previous feature requests for radius/tacacs user experience monitors from members have not been considered. Miron, are you a network engineer and a lawyer? :-) I have heard this request a few times, and it's something we've considered for a couple of releases, but it hasn't yet made the…

Thanks, I will give that a try.

I misspoke when I said "script" . In APM 3.0, there is a full LDAP user experience monitor. Description: This component monitor tests the capabilities of a LightWeight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) server, and measures the time it takes to perform LDAP search-and compare operations.

The new release will be in the first half of this year, and there will be a beta. We'll have beta signups when we get a bit closer.

Say any headway on this? Alert distribution groups are needed badly. Defined groups should be shared between modules.. NPM/NCM/Syslog etc.. so if somebody leaves a department or is added to a department you don't have to claw through countless rules that have no means of being ordered or categorized or filtered.. you…

3liter, I'm sorry you're frustrated. We've admittedly had a tough time with recommending NetFlow hardware. For most customers, it's easy, but for heavy users, SQL Server is actually a major bottleneck because of the rate of incoming data. Tuning SQL Server to optimize read/write rate often helps. The fundamental problem…

muwale, here's our points system: thwack Point System - Updated 5/10/2013. This should give you a general idea.

I think this is because the MIB orion uses for memory lumps physical memory and swap space. If a device has 100MB of physical memory and is using 90MB, then the percent memory used will be reported as 90%. If it is using 100MB, then percent memory used will be reported as 100%. However, if the device is using 100MB of…

Correct- the VM Guests all show up under the Windows OS device grouping with my physical HP servers, not under a seperate VMWare ESX Type. The hosts show up as a VMWare ESX type

It would probably be easiest for you to upgrade to 2008 when you upgrade to the next version of Orion. Thanks for your comments Denny but upgrading to SQL 2008 at the same time doing a major Orion upgrade is not what I prefer to do. There are too many variables that could potentially impact such an upgrade doing the…

Our new LANsurveyor product also has switch port mapper functionality. Moreover, it runs as a service and can continuously update as the network changes.

Admittedly, I am a little biased, but NCM is a pretty awesome complement to NPM, and we intend to pull these two products into even closer orbits.

ok, thanks for the quick reply's

So waht is basic solution for the followinf error. Does it mean that I can not monitor network latency or jitter etc through Voip for this version or device

This is what our HelpDesk sees on the main page... This is the web page they use to update the notes. It is an aspx page which links into the database.

Hi Chris, Stpping the new NCM Syslog server and starting the original has fixed the issue. I can now see syslog data back in my orion web console. FYI it is a port conflict that is preventing both Syslog servers from running at the same time. In the SolarWinds.Net event logs this is showing up as an error with the event…

Can I upvote this? Would be extremely useful Thanks for creating a feature request Kathy!

These are issues that will be address in a service release. Everyone will be notified when that's ready.

Tim, Do you or your experts have a good way of me synchronizing my old events table with my new one? I am running parallel until I get the chance to go live on 9.5. I know this is database work and am familar enough with it. I tried to do a straight update from the old events to the new events but it balked. Not knowing…

When I run a wireshark trace, I see the Netflow data coming in on the correct port, this is what is in the packet. Any thoughts as to why I am not getting this into Solarwinds? No. Time Source Destination Protocol Length Info 44 13.283001 107.1.85.66 107.1.86.5 CFLOW 690 total: 13 (v5) flows Frame 44: 690 bytes on wire…

I don't see the option for setting up a trigger inside the syslog server. Doesn't make sense. Thanks anyways.

'm running NPM 9.1 SP4 with APM 2.5. There is still no sign of being able to add APM elements onto maps. Is there an anticipated release date for this please? That feature is coming with NPM 9.5. When is NPM 9.5? The first half of 2009.

D’OH! That call was made against the wrong server. However, when I fixed it, I got the following; "The data contract type 'System.Runtime.Serialization.KeyValue`2[[System.String, mscorlib, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089],[System.Object, mscorlib, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral,…

Okay, great. Now, I’m experimenting with this and I got back “” (and No json data) when calling it from SoapUI. This seems like it might be wrong, so I’m wondering what I’m actually expecting as a ‘return value’ when making this call, if any. Also, where might I find the possible values for the ‘Second parameter/Line 3’…
