We can kill processes, but we can't re-launch them, so a windows service would be a workaround (there are tools like srvany that can turn any windows process into a service, or if you're good with the resource kit, sc.exe can register processes as services).

Because it's limited in active scanning, reporting and monitoring in comparison with the pay for services. It's a very good tool for free and if I was in an IT department that couldn't spend money, this would be the first place I'd look to do everything, from asset tracking to help desk tickets.

If the server can't access the internet you do have to manually register the license...I don't remember the process but it should be listed on your customer portal.
