I think this problem can be resolved by adding "Parent Device" column and move it next to "Name" column.

"you only want to see actual number of rows retrieved for this OID from the last poll?" Not exactly, I want to see the actual number of rows that relate to a specific process, not the entire poll. We have servers that compile software and I wish to see how many compilers are running at any given time to be able to relate…

I see ! Thank you Caroline ! Thread closed.

I might have celebrated to early, because after the metric was working fine for 10 minutes (I got the response I expected) It has now stopped working with error: The remote device timed out before sending a response However if I call my script from the server directly, it is still responding fine. Any idea what could be…

Hi Chris, Thanks, after moving plink.exe to the syswow64 folder it is working now! So issue is solved. Good you mentioned that 64 bit is unsupported, we were not aware of that. For me it's somewhat of a limitation that IPmonitor can only handle exit codes. Are there plans for the future that make it possible to return an…

Thank you Chris for your quickest reply! I'll follow your instructions and revert if required. Thanks, Rangaraj

That's what I thought. I checked there and had some text in the field, but now that I removed it the problem remains. Any other ideas? We continue to see vast differences between command line ping/response times and those that Orion NPM is doing on the backend. Thanks for your help!

Where are you suggesting I go for the Network Tab in NPM? If I go to File > Orion Network Performance Monitor Settings > Network tab, I only see limited network settings. Is there somewhere else I should look? Traceroutes show the expected path, but is there a way to see if NPM is taking a different route? I'm not…

Thanks Greg, that took car eof it. All registered and running.

Travis, For the NPM basics(nodes, interfaces, volumes), you'll want to look at the "Polling Rate" field on the Polling Engines Details page. When you get close, you'll get a notification on near the top of the web console. The same will happen if you go over 100% of maximum.

This tutorial is about Advance alerts not covering the portion of trap alert configuration. Kindly tell some other solution. I'll be very thankful to you.

Thank you, it does, however, I have more questions! :) 1. Does this add any kind of load-balancing between this instance and my existing Orion server or are we responsible for doing that? 1A. Can anyone provide me with some load-balancing scenarios? I am thinking we will use our existing F5/BigIP Environment to do this, if…

Some further information on this that we have found. Our DBA has found that an odd select statement is appended to the SQL query if "All Fields" (default) is left selected. If even one entry is removed, this addition is not added and the query runs fine. Will pass this on to support asap.

Hi - Did you ever accomplish this? If so, it would be nice to see your code. I would love to be able to do Node Status or even overall NPM status piecharts. -mike

You'll be able to do this with Orion APM 2.0, which should launch fairly soon.
-
Awesome, that did the trick. Thanks!

Hi Nicole, When you say to turn on windows File Auditing, you mean inside the Domain Controller correct? Thanks!

Hi yervillageidiot, If you're still experiencing issues with submitting a ticket, please let me know and we will get this sorted out.

The Network Configuration Console (stand alone product), not the integration piece within Orion.

Hello, I can't see any host that we are monitoring on list. Thanks in advanced, Leonardo

Hello Nandish- Is it not possible to do a manual poll and update topology when a device has already been added and is collecting data? I don't want to lose any polling data for my devices that have been in Orion the longest. Thanks, Mike

Screenshot shared in previous post belong to specific node only (not all node summary). As suggested by you I went through the specific node event summary and its displaying all down events (both interface and node down). However the packet loss events are notified to me by emails alerts.

I just read the release notes & 8.5 requires Microsoft .Net 3.0... Also I just found out this is a known bug. BTW, these are not the same bug. They look the same at first glance, but if you look at the first line, one refers to IP addresses and the other refers to "object reference not set."

It is, from what I can tell it's only standard users that can login.

Sorry but I don't see any alarms when I log in to VSphere. Can you be more specific on where to clear the alarms. Thanks.

Thanks alterego that’s exactly what I wanted.

Disabling of bulk loading of process information did not change anything. I have not tried using 3DES yet, but am now faced with another issue of more importance. I have posted elsewhere on thwack with regards to Advanced Alert Manager being broken. Until I get this issue resolved I am not concerned with the process…

After searching thwack, I noted that a user had used the mib walking tool in the engineers toolset to successfully get results after experiencing an error similar to mine, so I downloaded the trial and ran the MIB Walk tool that comes with the toolset - unfortunate I also received an error there - "Error during Walk: An…
