So I am working in a two domain setup where the domains don't trust each other at all. The ESXi hosts in question are not on the same domain as the Solarwinds server. But I don't have any issues with this as long as I am not polling from the vCenter server. If I hit them directly they update their names fine.

It could certainly be more intuitive - maybe a quick howto on this would be helpful, it's the most common use case for "custom" reporting.
