I am seeing the same issue that there current value field is blank. The question posed would be how can I populate the Current Value field on the web page.

And with that answer, we are ditching NPM for something else. This.is.ridiculous. I'm sorry you feel that way. The next release, v9.5, will have a very large feature set. Unfortunately, it won't have that particular feature. We have to make difficult choices in every release, and that feature has been cut from the release…

Here's a SQL script I got from Tim Danner: You'll need to tweak it a little, but the heart of it is there. You will need to fill in the node id, start time, and duration. Someone with sql experience could adapt these to run from the command line using sqlcmd.exe. To unmanage:DECLARE @NodeID INT, @Start DATETIME, @End…

I think I kink of got that when I was reading up on it, but the external site that I am monitoring has the anti bot java script that forces the user to run from what I'm told from the web guys. I can see that the site is there, but I get a "access denied, authorization failed. HTTP 403. Forbidden. The remote server…

Ok, thanks Denny. I should have said, the next version of Wireless Monitor that will be paired with v9.

I'm afraid you didn't look very hard. We didn't ship a built-in template for it (which I'll get fixed), but it's a new component monitor. Try to create a new Template and you'll see DHCP listed under User Experience Monitors. So, no fffttt.

OK, I was able to switch to WMI polling. I am probably going to switch all my servers to WMI. All my data from SNMP was deleted when I switched. Is there a way to still have my historical data and does SNMP do anything that WMI does not? Also will switching affect any alerts that have been configured?

That is the one that I am using; however, I get a multiple emails for the same node being down. It will open an alert for each interface on the device.

The results have every interface on the custom properties, Lo0, LAN interfaces, etc. I am missing a field somewhere.... Message was edited by: Don Clemson

Yup. My own PC was one of the problem children.

This isn't going to change in 2008. What's the limitation?

I was really trying to probe to see if there's some other less obvious advantage to multi-threading. As for what it would mean for licensing, etc., if we did so, I wouldn't worry about it much. There's no certainty that making the poller multi-threaded would really change the reach of an SLX since we'd probably ask that…

Improving this process is definitely on our radar.

Denny, Can we get an update on when the next EOC release 'might' be and what will be included in it? EOC 1.1 has been out for awhile and needs some TLC.
-
The last time support worked on the problem they left the licensing diagnostics program on my PC. I ran the program and it fixed the problem. I will open a ticket with someone regarding this.

I would drill a bit furthur down and see if the time of day the errors were recieved correspond to when your users said performance was bad. If you can get them to say an exact time like 9:30 am it was slow for 30 minutes, then you may be able to correlate that to what NPM sees. Also look to see if the errors are only bad…

urgh? support just told me to fix a few pwermissions problems, and then shrink my DB transaction logs.. both of which are highly unliklely to do anything with polling delays...

Good Day, Were you able to get this issue resolved? Thank you.

Our new custom poller will monitor down interfaces, so there will be a workaround in 9.0.

More info on what I'm trying to do: Upon receipt of selected traps, it sends the var bind data to a perl script. The script uses that info to construct an alert for insertion into the alertstatus table. Subsequent traps received just increment the triggercount and the lastupdate timestamp. That works OK. But the alert…

Hi I have a solution for you Create a custom property called Managed in NPM and assign your routers and switches a string called internal. Then add the string external to the service provider routers and switches. Add this custom property to the Nodes table in NCM. I have created a SQL stored procedure that then updates…

Hi, As per my previous email I’ve attached the screenshot (partial) that I’m generating. I’ve no idea where the text after the “GTP Monitoring – “ is coming from. “DSCLRF01.xxx.xxxxxxxx – GigabitEthernet1/3 +++ INTERLINK DSCLRF01 --- SDNYCL001 (Gi6/48) +++” Any ideas please? Apart from this it’s perfect. Thanks, Andy.

HOORAY!!! I now have four Interface monitors showing! The key misunderstanding (or lack of clarity on the website earlier), was that I needed to click on the Red Highlighted Title in the Top Left Hand Corner of the chart, not the Edit in the Top Right Hand corner. I now have a strange title after my View Name for some…

The label issue should be fixed in 3.0.

Ok, where I can open I case?

You will notice as well in the Advanced alerts that if you have more then one action in the trigger actions only the first action is executed. Trying to see if anyone has gotten an external script to run as the trigger action from the advanced alerts. Update Note: Since upgrading to 8.5 using TEST ALERTS I see all actions…

well, when I pressed the "Use original database login and password" button it filled out SQL server name as local and provided login and password for the SQL server. It also allowed me to click next from that 1st screen, however, when I tried to provide the existing SQL login in 3rd screen, I couldn't type the password for…

I didn't get to try the group assignment today as the discovery wizard is working for my immediate needs. I'll try it when I get a few moments and monitor Solarwinds behavior.

What I can not do is get any APM monitors onto an Orion map. This is coming in NPM 9.5.
