Did you ever get this working? I am testing Orion 9 in a lab enviroment with AD and ran into this problem with pass-through. I had the same issues with the impersonate settings but even if I have both files set to true and (other settings as well set) I still get prompted to provide a login. Not sure why....

It doesn't, but we have a team working on a replacement failover solution that will eventually cover all of the modules. It's probably next year, but it's not vaporware. There are people working on it asking me questions about it every few days. It's part of a larger effort, but it's a priority for us. Denny, What's the…

I can go into NCM and add/remove nodes without impacting their status in NPM. I should be able to accomplish the same function in UDT. When a node is set to be "deleted", have a check box for a specific product delete or global delete. Deleting induvidual ports using the same model would be great. I don't know if merging…

Jonathan Angliss wrote: As it stands currently, they only support a static list of log files. Okay, so this is my rub on this... If we change the code to send to the Windows Event log Application Log, instead of the custom Event Log, LEM would be able to see the entries fine right? It is not a custom log format, it is not…

I would also like to test this template Thanks James

Right. If you contact sales@solarwinds.com, you'll get a sales engineer who can help you.

Thanks Jiri, I look forward to it. Once I have that I will thoroughly test matching HEX and other things that I have not managed to fix. PS, I was updating my blog when I realize I already posted about this: http://networkzealot.blogspot.com/2013/12/solarwinds-orion-where-it-fails-hard.html So 3 months is about correct on…

Thanks. I look forward to it.

Speaking of upgrading from SQL 2000 to 2005 i have failed in my morning mission of finding some documentation in hopes of determining if there is anything special that needs to be done in order add the 2000 database to the 2005 SQL server. Incidentally, for those out there considering this I believe 2005 licenses are no…

Brandon, Is the service pack is going to address this issue in ways other than including the hotfix? How about addressing the security errors some of us are receiving?
-
I really don't know -- they just said they were not getting on. I will try to get some time to followup with someone watching on the AD side. We have login issues with our installation anyway (this is a bug we are told is fixed in 10.4) so I am waiting for the upgrade to finish cleaning up the accounts. I really want to…

Hi Lukas, Many thanks for the template - it is appreciated. I guess it works in a different way to the old login monitor. Would I be correct in saying that it doesn't actually simulate a login attempt and looks for text in the result page? I tried running it under the set of credentials that I used for the 2007 HTTP…

The question was solved. This is a strange issue, I don't find these custom columns when I logon Orion server by ip address, but I find these columns when I logon the server by server name. I don't know reason, but it is ok now. BR Steven

julian, You probably already know but I thought I would post it for others, you can add &dataformat=xls to the url for any web report.

If they keep coming back after you delete them, it's because new events are coming in with that DetectionIP value from one of your log sources. LEM uses DetectionIP to determine when a host is sending data to another that's picked up by LEM. We'll have to track down what that log source is to see if we can figure out why…

Case #239736...so far... Generating NPM Diagnostics to send to Technical Support For Orion v9.1 and later: 1. Navigate to Start -> SolarWinds Orion -> Documentation and Support 2. Launch the gray icon for Orion Diagnostics. 3. This program will generate a .zip file as output. a. If it’s under 5MB, attach it to an email and…

aLTeReGo, I am having difficulty calling our Node Custom Properties. We have SAM 6.0.0 installed, is there something else I need to do in order to call the variables? Thanks in advance...

the update to v9.1 of NPM fixed all issues we had What update? Has 9.1 SP1 been released?

Hi hany helmy, I just wanted to post the solution here for anyone who googles and finds the similar search result. What we found is that the DMV's we pull the metrics from are blank and contain no information. We are an agentless tool and rely on queries to pull the data. So our solution here is to refer back to the…

Anyone know how to write an SQL query to locate and list duplicate hostnames? It can't be that hard can it?
-
I went ahead and opened a support case on this. We will see what they say. (Sorry for hijacking this thread, I thought it was related)
-
See if the explanation in this thread helps a little more.

Is RSSI fixed in 9.5.1?
-
We have an application performance management group now. Long road ahead but we are shining light on where the problem most likely is.

Got it working to the SAP server by adding the control disable parameter.

The event-centric not device-centric approach to the event taxonomy can certainly be confusing, and frustrating to reverse engineer. The connectors decide where to map something when they parse the event. The reason they aren't device-centric is that multiple types of devices actually generate those events - firewalls,…

And to be fair, Support has been great. Got on my system, adjusted some chunk things and have me doing some other changes. Looks like I'll be OK once all this is done then move the DB.

This isn't a bad idea but I'm not sure it gives me much beyond what I get with the email alerts For the alert feed, it would allow you to look at the entire list of current alerts from any RSS reader. For the Top 10 lists, you could see the same info as a Top 10 view, even if no alert has been generated. But I think SW…

can you post the link? sorry i am really tired and a bit confused i worked all the day on windows log
-
Yes, i have some thoughts on the subject. I think that SW needs to focus on fixing the problems with 9.5 SP2 first, and once all of the issures are fixed, then they can focus on adding new features. example: Fixing bugs with the last release is obviously the top priority. We are working on that now. In this thread, I'm…
