I tried using pool.ntp.org and recieved the attached error message.

Byrona, Even with my own home grown duplicated and the machines synced in time of poll and using the same NTP server they would come out a bit different but only in the short term. Over the course of 24 hours(or even an hour) I wouldn't be surprised to find two identical systems using the same formulas to be a few poll…

The key is to make sure that the 'Solarwinds Alerting Service is using a domain service account. By default it installs as a Local Service login which doesn't work. Try to change it then cycle the service. Should work for you.

As you note, the product has only been on the market for about 12 months. v2.5 is the third release. The need for custom content decreases dramtically with each release. That need will never disappear completely, however. There are always idiosyncratic needs that will require custom solutions. We build our feature set…

If we could monitor custom MIBs stored in table form, would that help?
-
Sorry, it didn't make it into 2.5, but its priority is higher for the next release.

Time is a bit of a commodity. I have not had a chance to setup a Kiwi server yet. I do plan to do so. While the lack of integration with the Orion portal is a initial nuisance If it provides the alerting functionality that is lacking in the Orion syslog server. It would still be worth it until it is integrated. A few…

this is not an issues of devices showing up as unknown this is the issue where SNMP fails on devices and the ping still makes it so the device stays green but all the interfaces on the device goes into unknown state.

I'm experiencing the exact same thing on one of my custom table pollers. Did you figure out how to make it work? Thanks in advance :-)
-
What about browser time? The database would use UTC and the browser would convert, thereby handling the random gov't changes. Would that work?
-
The instructions you posted appear to be only for configuring this with a self signed certificate. How do I setup WinRM without a certificate?

3 is more than two. Of the various things that are important to you, what's slightly less important or roughly equally important than this? What's slightly more important? Serious question. I'm trying to get a guage on where this fits. In isolation, it's easy to say I want that. But if you tell me how it stack ranks, I can…

The information service contains a lot of knowledge about the shape of the Orion database, which is quite different between 7.x and 8.5. Backward compatibility to 7.x was not an option.
-
It might depend on how the data is formatted in the log. We're pulling out a string, and if not everything is in that string but is instead in individual strings, we might only be catching the first one in ExtraneousInfo.

I have it on the Node Details page.

At this point, you'd probably need to open a ticket so that we can collect some data from you.

Case is 42242

yes thanks...

Here is what worked for me, I wonder how I would translate this into SNMP commands, we have over 700 switch ports and am not terribly excited about the prospect of having to run this 3500+ times setmib sFlowFsReceiver.11.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.1.2.1 -i 1 setmib sFlowFsPacketSamplingRate.11.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.1.2.1 -i 512 setmib…

Hi shaulis, Got around to giving this another go and changing the dbo schema did the trick. Thanks for that Now it works, I'm not sure what I'm looking at... I ran the following query: EXEC TopSQLforMSSQLMachine '2014-01-01 01:01','2014-05-14 01:01','MACHINENAMEHERE' I was hoping I could swap out the 'MACHINENAMEHERE' part…

Well I'm tired of calling support, I talk to them every time solarwinds releases something. And I dont even know if this service pack even fixes my issue. thanks but no thanks not to happy with this product at all!!! hashim, Sorry you've had a bad experience. We are making some changes to our release process to minimize…
-
Nevets, I spoke with Josh, and we really need some data from you to help you further. That's something we can't do via Thwack. We'll have to work through your Support ticket to make more progress.
-
Michal, you're right! I still can see the results... Forgive me; I thought having errors mean the result is no longer produced. Thank you for your kind assistance

I have opened a new case Case #19589 the old case was 10197.
-
Sorry, could you give us more detail. It's not clear what happened or what the problem is.
-
Thanks for the replies. Denny, nope I haven't raised a ticket but I will do now. As a bit of a further update, I have found that all forms act in the same way, one of the guys here wrote a piece that allowed us to update fields in the Custom Properties from one form, stuff like Server Name, Rack ID, Server Owner etc this…
