The word from the thwack team is that we have to be friends in order to exchange DMs. The other way to do this is to create a "Private Discussion" between just us (Create > Discussion > Private Discussion). You can also email me at firstname dot lastname @solarwinds.com too.

We're going to ship 8.5 pretty soon, which will eliminate the hotfix issue because all of those fixes are incorporated. We will have a new updater with 8.5 that will address this issue.

My current UNC path is \\10.1.112.180\D$\MSW\Internet\Addressing. I am assuming I don't need to leave in any special characters {$} like the initial example had.

wluther Thanks for you help today I will play with it over the weekend and will let you know how I get on. Have a good weekend and speak to next week. -Phill

I did not see it at first, because I have my options set to "Manually set up monitoring after devices are discovered". If I change it to "Automatically monitor based on my defined monitoring settings", then I see it. I guess I want my cake and eat it too... I like the control of knowing and seeing what's going in, but I'd…

Copy your database, and then upgrade using an evaluation copy. The code is the same except for the time limit.

I know Brandon is going to try to set up a 1:1 meeting, but I thought I'd comment on your 3 points because they're interesting. #1. Lack of menus is something we can do on the web. In fact, we use a tool internally that has a slick context menu system using AJAX, so while we don't have it now, it's very much possible. #2.…

Any update on an ETA for WLC support? - we have some 200 WLC's and if this was supported the Wireless module would probably be just what we need. We've never said that we will definitely support Cisco WLC. Based on our current plans, it's not on the roadmap in the next 6-9 months. Beyond that, I'm not sure.

Me too!

Yes, I have tried changing the date as well. I do have a case open for this as well.
-
It really sounds like you need to open a Support case so that we can troubleshoot and determine if there's a configuration problem or a bug in the product.

If you have Orion APM, you can actually use APM's HTTP user experience monitor to look for certain information on a page of Orion (e.g., is YouTube present) and alert on that. You can also periodically run SQL Queries on the Orion DB to check for specific info and then use that to alert.

Great. "Get Table" is a key feature for Orion 9.0, due in Q2. We literally won't ship without it. I can't promise that we'll be able to pre-build the MIBs for any specific Brocade devices. Our first priority is to get the capability in our customers' hands, then we'll proceed to work with customers and with vendors such as…

turned on XML output and received this error when calling invoke function to sync node from Orion into NCM database.Any idea? 2013-11-28 13:49:12,503 [23] ERROR SolarWinds.InformationService.Core.InformationService - Exception caught in method Invoke SolarWinds.InformationService.Verb.VerbExecutorException: Verb…

ETA? Hmm. You have to understand that product managers are loathe to give dates. Here's why: It's really satisfying to tell customers the dates we're all hoping for. These dates lead to giddy anticipation by all. Everyone's happy. Then, some as-yet-unknown-but-inevitable @#^% happens. Dates are adjusted. Therein follows…

Thanks Nicole for reproducing the issue. In fact I have a support case open, yet; the Support Case # is 367887. I posted the question here because I wanted to know if I am really the only one who is seeing this issue - and indeed, it seems that I am the only one who is using this feature... ;-). Workarounds: 1) is not an…

NTA has been stable a week on from this fix. Looks like we will be good until the next revision. Thank you!
-
Say - after I change the timeout what all needs to be restarted? I changed this when NTA was down and then started that service. Good enough?
-
I copied and pasted your lines and the posted error went away but now I'm getting a new error from the component monitors.
-
Excellent - will try this. Thank you.

I ran those commands in an admin prompt and recieved the following error.

Advanced Alerts do not support IOS changed - previous to current alerting. In 8.5, you can alert based on a change to the IOS Image Family or the IOS version. Can you explain in more detail what we're missing?
-
Seems to be broken again in 5.5 Even the devices I suppressed the hardware health alerts for are showing up now and they don't show anything wrong with them when I look in NPM.
-
Did you make any progress with this???
-
I see Thwack threads mentioning this issue being 'in the list' of new requests since 2008. I too would like this feature implemented. Also, regarding the note... We always publish what we are working on, see here As I hope you can imagine we have tons of requests for new features. We as PM's have to balance things out…

Can you please look at the images in attachment and tell me that configurations are correct and work properly or not??? Also email subject and body is correct or not? what is given by ${AssignmentName} variable? thanks in advance

Yeah I tried that but what I had was custom ascx resources and when I tried to put them in an iframe it didn't work. I tried what Alterego suggested and it didn't work so I am still looking for a solution - of course I could always break down and try to get these into custom SWQL queries - which is not what I want but......

Some older versions of terminal services can only handle 256 colors. That's the root of the question. But if you're using Win2k3, that really shouldn't be the case. To test it, you'd need to look at the box with a monitor connected.

I'll take it as a feature request.
