It would be more like sleeping on call than on the job, but that might be a good way to do it. If I set up the escalation alert for only the critical devices, it would assure that someone gets a page for something major.

I just wanted to pose a question on this thread, as it might be something for me to add once I get my Solarwinds up and running. Is there an "either/or" function on alerts, so if I'm using email alerts and the email server has a failure, I can use the paging server we already have in place? I don't want to send double…

Beer, huh? It might be easier to log in and do the changes myself. At the very least, I have an interesting feature to request.

Ichance, thanks for your help. Time for caffine.

I figured it out. My polling engine is down, and I didn't realize it. This is my first Solarwinds since version 7, so I'm still getting used to the differences.

Are you going to tell me good news that the next release is coming out next week? If not, RATS!! I'll have to see if I can get this from the debugs on the router.

A script might work if it was able to log into the router on the backup route. Since the provider EVPL device stops passing traffic, it fools the remote EVPL router into thinking the interface is still operational, and the router won't automatically reroute. It might be better to run three scripts. One that will change the…

I am glad to see Netflow alerts are being worked on, as I was looking to put some up today. I will share an example of the type of alerts I'd like to see. My company just started to install VoiP across our network. To increase our bandwidth without adding new circuits, we decided to move from a proxy server and force…

Thanks. I got it working.

I have the alert working, and it works the way I want with one exception. I get the alert, and I acknowledge it before the 2nd level alert is triggered. The alert has now paged me and no one else. Once I repair the problem, the alert manager sends the reset alert to the 1st level and 2nd level. Since the 2nd level…

Thank you.

That is what I was thinking, but I'm hopeful that someone came up with a solution for this problem.

Thanks, this was a big help.

Anyone?

I have removed a 3560-24TS from IP SLA. It was originally discovered by the Wizard. I tried to add it back manually, but the IP SLA monitor tells me that it fails the test on the RW string. I have removed the string from the node and changed it to 'private'. The IP SLA still will not recognize this string. The 3560 is…

On the Network Configuration Manager, click the reports tab, view reports. I believe what you are looking for is under the Audit tab of the listed reports.

Maybe this should be a feature request? I'd like to know what packets have been dropped from an interface.
