Don't blame you on that... I've seen plenty of user communities that assume if something's mentioned even in passing that it's a confirmed feature soon to be released. That's an annoying game to have to play. That being said, I've been using Orion for a while now and I really do appreciate the interaction you guys have…

When you add that feature... can you make File Count able to handle wild cards? I.e. count all the files in a folder and not just all the doc or all the xls files? If it already does this, then let me know how it does it. :) Thanks, Brad

Drat! No "there might be this" teaser type info? :) Any hints on release date at least? Anything that was considered that DIDN'T make the cut? I think I'm mostly asking because this is more fun than migrating a POS legacy app I'm supposed to be working on, but I'm also just curious. You guys should add a "suck meter" to…

Yes, it would be good to get the option... More granularity is always good. We do mostly server monitoring here, and we regularly pass performance reports off to application groups. Giving them a little more insight is never a bad thing...

Awesome! Thanks Denny :)

Bah! Where's the "0" option!

Bah! I want native support including an "Application Monitor" that checks blood sugar levels and alerts me if it gets to low... :) So seriously... feature list please! Or feature teaser list? Or feature torture list? I know no one like to promise A and deliver B, but I promise I won't write it all down in stone and scream…

Is there a way to determine what order the Poller Columns show up? For instance, with the exact same pollers, I'm getting DevManufName, then Status, the Description, then Fault... Ideally I'd like to get them in the order you've got them listed above...

That's an interesting comment there... and I think I can see what you mean by it. I'm probably one of the very few people who have literally ZERO network devices in Orion. No switches, no routers. We're all host based monitoring which is just a teency bit weird considering this is a network monitoring package and the core…

Sweet! I knew I couldn't be the only one... now to get someone to spill the beans... I'm hoping for vending machine support so I can see when we're getting low on Mountain Dew...

We use Dell M600 and M610 Blades pretty much exclusively... THe savings are excellent compared to standalone servers... We used to buy 2950's and by the time we put in dual HBA's, wired the network and SAN connections the costs really racked up. We save about $70,000 with a fully stocked M1000 Blade Chassis compared to 16…

I've never used it either... It's not that it's not providing useful information... it's just effectively the same thing I'm seeing from the front page in my "All Nodes" tree... it's slightly different... just not different enough.

We sort off a custom property called "App Group". Since a given application server can have multiple templates assigned to it, this allows us to see ALL the servers that affect an app... we often have IIS/Apache Templates, SQL Templates, plus custom app templates that affect a group of servers. This lets us see the…

Depends on the "scope" of your monitoring... if you're staying on the same domain, then you can get buy with normal Domain Admin membership. If you're going to cross domains then an Enterprise Admin Account will help if they're trusted. It's generally easier though to simple use one Domain Admin Account per Domain. We use…

We use Trend Micro's Officescan on ours... no issues with it... been using it for over a year.

There doesn't seem to be a seperate distinction between "retrys" and "trys". The way I currently do this is to set the polling I want on the device, then build the alert to not fire until X minutes have passed... If my polling is every 5 minutes, and I want 2 failures, then I set it for 10 minutes. If it's every 3 minutes,…
