I was 39 years old when I realized that these Thwack points are really useful when I got my JBL headphones. These things are great and now I am also 39 years old when I realized how bad my other headphones were.

Ghost in the machine. We recently just had our switches one by one decide to leave our stack. We would lose a whole switch of 48 connections without warning. Ended up being a bug in the software and an upgrade fixed it after weeks of troubleshooting with support. My biggest fear is when you upgrade to gain new features and…

Should I have seen the points by now?

At work we do acronym games. Do a quiz game an acronyms. We have plenty in the IT field to play with.

I started with my little Lenovo Yoga and 13" screen with a USB C monitor and yet another 13" screen, but hey this will only be a few months. A few months into this and my eye sight just going horrible I went back to the office for some equipment. Took my standing desk and two 19" monitors home. Now I have three monitors…

You are way more creative then me. We did get an air fryer to try new things, then sold it. We got new bake pans, that we have yet to use. I have a few new recipes we have been wanting to try but we are still wanting to try. With quarantine I have watch a lot more movies and shows that we missed. I will put a word out for…

I love animals and it is great that you along with many others have taken in rescues. My foamily and I found a great dog for us about 5 years ago and she has been the best. Rescue animals are so grateful for our love.

Part of this new world we live in and working from home I get the privilege of stepping away and walking the dog. Being in an apartment I do this 4 times a day and it is very relaxing. Living in AZ we are having great weather now so I get some fresh air, cool weather and get the eyes away from the computer screen.

The most used tool would be servicenow that does have an integration with NPM 12. We also used secureCRT for console and splunk for communication. I would think if you are looking for integration and tools we use a lot I would say some kind of way to communicate with each other within Solarwinds.

OK what is the thwack hammock? I can't find it anywhere and very intrigued.

The WFH does present it's difficulties. The family thinks I am here to talk to and respond at any moment. I will be in the middle of something and they will just start talking to me like I am just standing here (standing desk from work, brought home) doing nothing. It's like I am back in the office, lol. At least when I am…

The wife hates shopping and for the same reason I thought you were going to talk about. Her mom use to drag her out as well but that experience stuck with her and to this day she hates shopping. I do most of the shopping but I have a list and stick to it. A majority of our shopping has been online, but that is not very…

AI has been a great tool but as mentioned corporate data needs to be protected. The free AI versions will not do that. Where I am employed they built an AI team to help others build internal AI tools and manage the use of AI within the organization. One big addition is an enterprise ChatGPT instance to secure our data.…

Shorts and Solarwinds shirts for me. Keeping it very casual and seeing that across the board besides from vendors, they need to still dress up.

Why no Arizona this year?

Only if critical alerts. Try to keep down the alert fatigue. We also utilize Teams or Slack for all other alerts to have multiple people viewing but if something goes through an email, get on it.

Agree but when the questions are the first thing you do when you come in thinking is the last thing I want to do. But I am glad people are getting the questions wrong I want that monitor.

I am getting really tired of the constant messaging back and forth. And yes I am not great at typing but that isn't why. I really do miss the in person interaction so lately I have been messaging, hey got a second for a call?. This way I get a little conversation with someone else other then the wife and kid I see all day…

As of Nov 19th 2013 API v2 is not supported. Some of the code in this config has stopped working as of that date. The issue I have found is I lost the tooltip from popping up. The code I found that is not supported is 'GXmlHttp' and 'GControlPosition'. If anyone has successfully migrated to v3 please let me know I would…

Being in IT I feel we are luckier then most. Moving to WFH was very easy especially since we already did it once a week. For others I can understand that the move can be very difficult while for some that move is impossible and now their life's are in danger everyday. This new life has shown how important family is and the…

Before Covid hit we started a large WorkDay rollout that has already been in the works for over a year. There was no way we were going to put that project on hold with all the planning and money we already spent. This was the largest project in my organizations history and we did it during a pandemic. I know at least for…

Taking the dog for a walk throughout the day is a nice break. Recently the wife wanted to start getting more steps in so she has been taking a few of the walks and I have been missing them. It is nice to get away from the home work life at least just for a few minutes.

As a family we loved going out to eat. Even with the limited seating or outdoor that is allowed we are still staying away. We have been trying take out from our favorite places, but some aren't doing very well at it. Those that have done take out before had the process down and food would be warm when I get home. Others,…
