Just adding my 2p's worth, but being able to allow users to put nodes into an unmanaged state is essential for us. We use NCM to monitor our customers' networks, and some of them are very obsessive about maintaining accurate uptime statistics. If they need to take down a device, they insist on the ability to set it to…

Yep, I have a case open now. They first told me that it was supposed to work like that, but have since agreed that it's a bug and *should* allow us to unmanage without full node management rights.

This is causing me a huge problem with one of my customers at the moment. They have UPSs that send traps to warn that they are over a temperature threshold, and while it's easy enough to set up an email alert based on the text in a trap, it won't then show in the Alerts view which is what they focus on all the time.

Although there is now the option to unmanage nodes without full node management rights, it doesn't actually work. You get an error saying that you need node management rights.

This is getting annoying now. I've made the registry change and rebooted but I've still got no Telnet access from either system manager or the web browser. Any other ideas?

Well I have a bit of progress - there is data in the table , so the operations do definitely seem to be completing. I've run the Orion configuration wizard and now I'm getting a red X under the headers for the graphs - it's a clicakble linkthat takes you to a "file not found" page "monitoring/.../CustomChart.aspx by…

This is interesting - I've just run another test and this time I only got the "immediate" notifications and not the delayed one.

Thanks. I'll have a read through that later and give it a go this week.
-
Thanks. We'll give that a go.

Yep , I have done , but I thought it wouldn't hurt to try here as well. Thanks

Thanks. I'd looked at that earlier but it didn't mention incremental backups. If they are then that's ideal for us, and I'll try and remember the warning as and when we upgrade to a newer version (but will almost certainly forget). <scuttles off, looking for food>

I've left them at 3 minute intervals for now , and it's been running for several hours now.

Hello. Yes , I have enabled the windows telnet client but I also have TeraTerm installed. Both of them work when the programs are run manually , but neither works if I try and telnet to a device from the System Manager or Web Interface.

No custom properties - they all go to the same email address that's statically configured in the alert. I'll double check the exact node that we used for testing and make sure it was one of the ones affected by the outage. Thanks

I've upgraded two servers today - one went without a hitch and the other kept failing when running the configuration wizard so in the end I did a total uninstall and started from scratch which went ok. First impressions - the wireless module is very handy for me - a big thumbs up. On the replacement for map maker I love…

Well that was nice and simple. Thanks for the quick answer Stuart

I've just moved jobs to somewhere that uses Meraki APs, so I'm looking at what I can get out of it via Solarwinds. Adding the controller was no problem but I've got no Wireless information at all. I don't need anything special from it, but being able to see (and alert on) the number of connected clients, channels and SSIDs…
