Yea only 1 TFTP session at a time is allowed I am almost certain and that will be handled by the active SUP.

I have done it so I do not see why not. Normally you have more trouble with the device creating the flows than anything else. Creating flow tables takes a lot of dedicated resources and can also be a dangerous thing as well. If someone is not right with the dedicated ASICs or hardware and a lot gets punted to the general…

The admin guide is a good place to start. Its a long read but will give you a good fundamental knowledge. Also, to answer your other question. In my experience the app owners are the best people to go to for that info. A lot of times you will know how their app works better then they do but it seems best to lay the…

To clarify the alerts are kicking off as I see them listed in the Advanced alert Window.
-
I think the bigger question is how many elements you will have. That being a total of all the interfaces and items you would monitor. From that point they recommend no more than 8k elements per poller meaning you my need more than 1 box especially if you plan on running more modules like netflow.

How are the NIC's configured?

How are the 2 NICs configured?

Spanning tree could be a very chatty alert. You might want to include syslog criticals coming off any important equipment. High utilization might be tough to do on VPN sites depending on their connection and their setup. IE if you are monitoring a device witch connects to a DSL modem that 10/100 interface will never have a…

Anyone? This is a very annoying issue? Thanks

The main box will still handle all alerting so nothing about that will change. The new poller will simply just poll. In fact you can disable the alerting engine on the new poller, I think they recommend it actually.

Newp the router sends the netflow traffic on 2055 towards your server.

I do this from time to time with support and it always solves that issue for me. Well for a time anyways. Stop all SolarWinds services on main box. Then on main box. goto c:\documents and settings\all users\Application data\solarwinds\jobengine (from memory think thats right) and you will find a jobengine35.sdf file.…

Actually I am not doing them one by one I am using the quick credentials option. Sorry I mispoke.

I think you need to apply your policy to the global policy.
-
I think you need to add your policy to the global policy. Below is the config I use. access-list netflow-hosts extended permit ip any any ! flow-export destination inside 10.x.x.x 2055 class-map NetFlow-traffic match access-list netflow-hosts ! policy-map global_policy class NetFlow-traffic flow-export event-type all…

I think the policy needs to be applied to the global policy that is there by default. Below is the template I use. access-list netflow-hosts extended permit ip any any ! flow-export destination inside 10.x.x.x 2055 class-map NetFlow-traffic match access-list netflow-hosts ! policy-map global_policy class NetFlow-traffic…

Without trying to sound sassy, any service that starts with the workd "Cisco".
-
There is no doubt you can do it as long as you give the boxes what they need. If you look in the admin guide they list servers specs and vm server specs.
-
As far as I know there is no activation you have to go to your customer portal and download the licensed versions and install them.
-
That sounds awesome. How do you implement this? I tried to look for and or create a report in this fashion and could not see it.
-
I have the same issues with some of mine and its not the model itself, I have 5505s through 5540s. It is going to be a code issue in 8.2(2). TAC can say what they want but I lay my life on the fact its a bug. What you might try to do is give 8.3 a shot. But watch out I think they upped the mem/flash requirements on it.…

Looks like everytime the settings reload so does the root directory.
-
You can make it more "open" by just allowing the alert to kick off for any event or filter by error, warning, critical etc and that way you do not have to worry about the text of your message. You might also double check your trigger actions to be sure you do not have a mistake there if you have not already.
-
I have 112 alerts in use at this point.
-
Oddly enough I am now getting detail for the second poller but the first has fallen off with the same error.

Your switch itself will shows 1gb for VLAN's. It is basically the default. So if you did a SHO INT for any vlan interface it will show 1gb. I do not know for sure but its probably that way just to be uniform. That interface is a software SVI and there would be several limitations to its speed. For instance you may have a…

Are you sure SSH is setup on the devices that message is typical when the cisco device is not running the protocol you are trying to connect with.
-
NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SCARY !
-
That sounds pretty rough you have to open a ticket with support on that one.

SW staffers any idea?
