If NPM/Orion never had anymore than a user or 2 I think you point about web apps would be valid. But my company for example has many IT people spread around the world. The web app allows the application to be used anywhere by anyone easily.

It must be my alert. I tried using the canned one and it works fine. I will just delete it and recreate it. Thanks for the help.
-
For some reason then I am not getting these alerts from servers at all. The only thing I have the trigger on: "Last Boot has changed" What am I missing here? The rest of the alert is setup like the hundred others we have.
-
Why is it so hard to get an answer on this support?
-
I hate to take it that far. It been doing it since 9.5 was installed and its the mem not the cpu. I did notice that its element count has grown a lot. Its has 9600 elements on it now. Could this be the cause of the issue?

Before you call supprt you might be able to save yourself some pain and time by running a repair on the install.
-
Yes they are all correct and all synced.
-
User/password would also be very important.

Sure, it is 128210
-
We do it with just the canned http form login monitor.
-
It was unreliable and would come at different times and sometimes twice. I just thought it would be nice if there were a canned alert for it since people seem to ask for it a good bit here. Modules in sig

Here is the answer to both questions. This is where I have moved the windows temp file location.

I would also recommend looking at the aging commands for netflow so your TCAM does not overflow. It can cause problems with other things like WCCP that share the same space.
-
I would personally say a nightly reindex is overdoing it especially since with a large DB like that maintenance will be running for a good time each night as well.
-
I know for a fact that running web on VM offcially has SW's blessing. If you look in help (Help from the Orion webpage) and search "requirements" you will find the specs for a VM.
-
I think that would be awesome. Not only would it make the product do more for us users but I think it would help increase your footprint with larger companies.
-
Sure I could. In fact I have done somehthing similar. The idea is that it becomes a feature not something manual done by a user. Or that was the reason for my post anyway.
-
But since they do not respond to SNMP how will NCM pull data from them?
-
I would stay away from RAID5 ESPECIALLY on the DB files. RAID5 will hit your performance pretty hard. If you are going to have 10k elements per poller they need to be something like dual quad cores and 6+ GB of RAM. From what I understand 10k elements is the absolute max a poller can handle effciently. The offcial limit is…

I think that answer is probably going to be yes but any device that conforms to the standard should work just fine with SW.
-
It seems to happen randomly. I know for a fact they have not been unmanaged anytime recently. I just updated to 9.5 SP2 and I have the same results. I was hoping the global reset would help things but it has not.

I think for 1-5k its a good product, for 10k+ its very over priced. I would love to buy it but I have 1200+ subnets and cannot manually group them or massage them unless I want to die of old age in front of the keyboard.

I had the same issue more than once, what support found is that in each case there were old jobs the scheduler was working on and they were building and eventually it could no longer keep up. Once these old jobs were deleted everything went back to normal.
-
I know how to do it, my point was I miss the previous version. Although even using export you have those annoying mouse overs! Having to install an add-on to do something you were doing before I think adds to my sentiment.

Support did what?

While the above list is technically correct there is a gotcha. With the 6500 and 4500 switches is depends on the supervisors you have installed. For example the latest and greatest supervisor for the 4500 the Sup 6E is the fastest Sup but it does not support netlfow. Also netflow in a switch platform like a 4500 or 6500 if…

No I do not. It had numbers in it so I tried it without by making a new account but I got the same exact error.

OK so I have been playing with the app off and on all day now. It has some interesting views but the one I was most interested in I do not see. How can I do this? "Or if slowdowns are on the server or client side? AppFlow makes this information available, at a glance. "

If you look you should notice I put in a good amount of tickets, we heavily use NPM, APM, NCM, and NTA. From my experience, a higher priority will get you a faster initial response. After that my experince is highly varied. Overall usually the only time I get a consistent repsonse is if a ticket has been escalated by me…
