Same result either way.

Also as far as I know SolarWinds supports version 9, I run 9 on my routers and it works fine. I think the deal is that the ASA implementation of netflow is a little different and that is what keeps Solarwinds from working with it.

I guess if I think about it the idea of A la Carte is a good one. I can see where that is beneficial and a way to value add without increasing the base price of your product. But if you are going to do that I think the pricing needs to follow. The modules may be a la carte but the pricing is like paying for a full mean for…

Sure, My external nodes still show as down.

Just throwing my 2 cents in here. if you have a busy chassis it is very easy to overrun the TCAM's especially if you also use WCCP as WCCP and netflow compete for the same table space. When the TCAM is full netflow processing gets booted to CPU which if there is a ton of it is bad and I think in there somewhere stuff can…

Thats not too bad. Unless you change the default config Cisco devices only send the flow data once the flow is completed. Their post DOES make it sound as if it is also will on top of security data sent traffic info. This is big news we all here thought it would not.

If you are using Server 2008 the location for the install is here. C:\Users\All Users\SolarWinds

Only that wireless came back, everything else is the same.

Just as a follow up, the SUP6-E DOES NOT support the Cisco Cards MIB. The SUP6L-E DOES support it. In either case the same info can be gotten using "physical entities"

No the authentication is fine I triple checked it just to be sure. I tried the java disabled thing and I can still log onto the page just fine, just the java app never launches.

Mine actually shrunk down and then grew out again.

Today we got an error on one of our main WAN switches, I only bring it up because we have never seen it before. Does not seem to be related but again very coincidental. I am chasing this one with Cisco TAC as well. 6504 with SUP-32 and PISA May 6 17:11:31.184 EDT: %NBAR-1-LINKPREVCORRUPTED: link->prev not NULL when…

Chris I do agree some form of it is indeed a great step forward I did not mean to gloss over that fact as I did. We do appreciate you guys listening to us and actually implementing the items we request. I think the frustration portion comes in where this has been asked for , for some time now and we are just now starting…

Just FYI I ran a full on repair and nothing changed so far.

Josh thanks for looking into that for me. This is the only other info I see from the app page. Access denied, authorization failed. Response page still contains login form
-
I think it is picking the correct one. The one it names should be the right one. The other form is actually hidden on the page and it is called "hidden". My thought the catch was the portion of the error where it said return page contains a form.

Will do and thank you.

OK sounds good. I have 5 or 6 tickets in right now so if we could get some concentrated attention from you guys for a bit on those that would be awesome.
-
Yes I get other data jus not the cards. In fact if I run a card report they do not show at all.
-
My take on it is first level of support is iffy but second and 3rd levels are great if you can get to them. Also what is the support hours? I hear sometimes its till 7CST and sometimes its 24/7. Anyone know what it is? And if it is 24/7 is Teir 2 and 3 available after hours or just level 1?

Just out of curiousity what do you use for netflow? We just started using SW netflow again and so far we like it a lot. Your size is about that of ours and you are the second person to confirm that to support about 10k elements you need at dual quad core. I have a single quad core right now getting slammed with 7k elements…

Some simple rules I use to keep them in good shape - Put the poller status resource on your main screen so you can actively monitor your pollers. You will easily catch issues by paying attention to "Polling Completion" and "Last Database Sync". A polling completion that drops significantly should be investigated especially…

There is also a bug in the ASA code that causes NTA to think traffic is coming from the wrong interfaces. It is because the ASA is pulling from its own internal fields incorrectly. I was the guy that found the bug so I know this for sure.

Making financial decisions based on Wikipedia is probably not a great idea.

I disagree with Nandish so some degree. From my experience this is what I personally would recommend for good performance and will allow for growth. -Drive space of at least 150gb in RAID10 -Memory of at least 8GB -dual quad core -OS of Server 2008 R2 x64

I too would like to see an easy to find and generally useful search area. I constantly spend tons of time digging for configs. I agree that we should be able to EASILY search for a node and anything inside a config.

Almost seems like another Cisco bug. More then happy to help I will PM you with my email address.
-
How does that differ with the upcomfing option that will save DB space based on the fact that 95% of traffic is represented by 4% of flows?
-
That's pretty close yes. Although on top of top talker I would like to see specific flow data to see what a node was doing or talking too. Now maybe that crosses the barrier where because of the data summarization that would not be possible without turning compressed today close to off. But I think that is what some of the…
