Were these the default reports or were these custom reports you created? Custom reports & policies. Many of the rules within those policies were default though.

I was trying to use our EMC SMI-Provider, but it would not accept either teh AX4's IP or serial number. Is there another method for monitoring it?

It’s definitely great to have full admin functionality from the website, but the website is just not as reliable as the console. For example the page refreshes ever so often. I import all of my devices through the console using the discovery wizard. It just makes sense to have the same functionality in both the website and…

I'm saying that this user is able to see all devices. In other words, the account limitation doesn't do anything. Based on your recommendation, couldn't I just limit the account based on the custom property rather than build the group using the custom property? Either way, shouldn't I be able to simply limit an account…

I do believe the statistics are being displayed correctly within Profiler. We actually had a disk fail last week. The hot spare that transitioned and then the failed disk was replaced. The hot spare that was used is no longer showing extremely high disk IO. I could mention this in the feature request, but it would be nice…

Wow...I see you had to jump through a bunch of hoops before someone actually explained the root problem. Thanks for sharing that link. I didn't find it when I searched. I actually have a case open right now because my Vcenter server is in a different domain & subnet than these ESX hosts. So, we are polling the ESX hosts…

Exactly...you'll need to configure a custom recieve/transmit bandwidth for these interfaces. This is what we have to do for all of our WAN and metro-ethernet connections.

Were running NPM, APM & NCM on a VM with 2x 2.53GHz CPU's & 3GB RAM. The database is running on a dedicated box using 2x Raid 1 & 4x Raid 10. We haven't had any issues with running SQL on a seperate box. In fact, I would say that gives us the greatest performance increase. We currently have 4149 elements.

Has anyone else noticed that the event colors have changed and now some of the up events and down events are the same color? Was this really the intention? I know it may sound petty, but I glance at the Last 25 Events screen often and the new pastel coloring scheme just isn't as easy to view anymore. Just my .02 For…

I've lost almost every custom thing I've done with Orion. Now if you had a Map tree and a single element on that tree is unmanaged or unknown, it makes the top icon Unmanaged or Unknown. This is rediculous. Add this to one of the many issues I'm finding out about now. All of my nested maps are doing the same thing. I'm…

Installed fine. I didn't notice any differences in icons or interface...were there supposed to be?

Is there a specific permission that I have to grant to that Client Admin? I've configured this individual as the Client Admin & selected "Client Admin Can Report For Others", but he is still only able to see his own tickets and not other customers within the same company. Thoughts?

This is sort of close, but not quite what we need. I don't have any need to see serial numbers of every power supply, module and card within a switch or router. I just want to see a list of all my network devices, their model and serial number. Also, it would be great to see a count of the total number of devices in each…

mccabejr, based on the settings in Setup>Email>Options>Email Content Regular Express Filter, It sounded like you could filter out text or keywards within an incoming email message.
-
I agree with lchance. Split them into two seperate filters. For the Alert Actions, are you simply stating, "Discard the syslog Message"?
-
I can tell you that I don't want to see entries stating, "No Change Detected - Discarded Config for X.X.X.X". I don't see how that is usefull information at all. What I would like to see is a history of actual configurations...pretty much what the title of the pane says. Also, I have no need to display an entry for each…

That sounds like it could be related. I haven't received any updates yet. I just emailed support again.

For those of you monitoring F5's right now with NPM, what type of information are you able to poll? CPU, memory, interface utilization? Any custom pollers? I'm curious because we have several F5's that were not currently monitoring via SNMP. Thanks
-
These are great ideas and suggestions. Our list of custom alerts has grown into a large list. I would also like to see more alert auditing features as well as reports showing which alerts apply to certain nodes.
-
Any updates on this? I wanted to provide an example....NCM reporting does not allow you to add certain fields to a report unless you select the appropriate "Type of Report". Sometimes I want to mix and match fields in a report that are not all part of the same "Type of Report". Cisco Model is a perfect example.

Thanks, Brandon. I looked at the custom SQL reports, but I'm not a DBA by any means. Would you or anyone else be willing to assist with some queries that I could use?
-
Bump. Anyone from SolarWinds care to chime on this one?
-
Thanks, Garrett. That did the trick.
-
Yes, this sounds like a Telnet/SSH issue. Are your VTY lines configured with any ACLs permitting or denying specific source IP's? Are you denying telnet? Within NCM, right-click the node and select Validate Login Information.

I'm certain that the hardware monitors were added after doing a network discovery of an entire /24 network.I don't have a previous report to compare with unfortunately.I'm going to re-run the discovery & see if that re-adds the SAM Hardware monitors.

The password had expired. I modified the config and changed the password. Thanks for the help.

Yes, they are the second approver in the approval process.
-
parentch, that sounds like a bigger problem than what I've been seeing. You might want to open a support case on that. Fortunately, my config backups & inventory do completely correctly.
-
When you say configuration, are you referring to the "Default OS Policy"? If not, can you clarify?
