Thanks, Chris! I appreciate it.

Thanks. Another example is the volume graphs. If I've got a partition thats over 1TB and I want to see historical usage, the graphs aren't very usefull unless the change is hundreds of gigs. If I want to see the change for the last 24 hours, the scale is so small, that it makes the graph unusable.

Thanks, Sham. I already have 2 tickets open for other issues right now and I haven't had much luck with Support so I'd rather not open another one for something else. I've only been using NCM since version 5. The configuration changes that were made were interfaces being shut down, IP addresses removed and descriptions…

As other shave mentioned, I would like to know what the specs are of your DB server? Are the logs and data seperated on different raid arrays? What types of disks and what are their speeds? Are there other databases on that same box? CPU utilization doesn't necessarily explain performance and neither does the age of the…

I would like to echo the OP. There needs to be a way to globally enable/disable topology. At the very least a way to enable/disable multiple nodes at once.
-
Thanks! That is a help. However, I'm guessing this precludes them from being able to make bulk changes, correct?

I think the important thing to remember in regards to SQL is the Raid configuration. Thats what is really going to make the difference. Depending on your virtual environment, you may be able to get away with it, if you've got optimal raid configurations and its dedicated. Our SQL box is physical, but it also has a couple…

You are awesome. I was able to create a sweet page. Rather than including all of the graphs in a single custom HTML box for all of the gauges and graphs, I added an individual box for each. This way I can manage them a little more easily. Thanks for your help!
-
Thanks! I'll see what I can do. I'll need to brush up on what little HTML skills I have. Will I actually be replacing an existing HTML page stored somewhere on the server or just creating a new one? If I'm creating a new one, where would I find it?
-
This is exactly what I needed. Thanks!

Thanks, Chris. Do I get an award if I find enough bugs? I've lost count of how many issues I've had that were later diagnosed as bugs. I'm not trying to be difficult, but this is getting rediculous.

I have a similar alert setup for notifying us if a disk volume drops below 1GB. I basically created a Volume Custom Property called "Disk Space_1GB" that is either a Yes or No value. I then selected the volumes I wanted to be notified on. Type of Property to Monitor: Volume Volume Space Available is less than or equal to…

The number one complaint I receive from my coworkers is how the homepage refreshes while they are browsing through the Node Tree and then the tree resets. This is really irritating at times. If possible it would be nice if either the page would not refresh while browsing the node tree or the position within the tree was…

Currently, I only have the Network Sonar Discovery configured to scan a handfull of subnets for new devices, volumes and interfaces. It works correctly and every week it discovers any new nodes that are added to the network. What doesn't make sense is that the Network Topology resource only displays devices connected to…

This worked. Thanks. Hopefully a fix will get released for this because I don't want my node list expanded all the time.

There were several handles on CustomPropertyEditor.exe. After closing each, I am still getting the same error message.

I use a poller to get Dell models. MIB Value Type: Raw, Format: Text, SNMP Get Type: Get Next and Polling Type: Node.

Just to add, you would probably need to create a custom property for the type of WAN circuit (Frame-Relay, MPLS, T1, DS3..etc). Then filter based on that custom property.

Also, I cannot test access to the DMZ Orion server from the EOC server because they are seperated by a firewall and HTTPS is not allowed.
-
My DMZ Orion box is in a seperate domain with it's on Active Directory and uses pass-through authentication. My EOC server is in our internal domain with a seperate Active Directory and uses pass-through authentcation. Since users are being authenticated against two seperate AD's, will they ever be able to be tied together?
-
I'll give it a shot. Thanks
-
MarieB, this is this first time I've read about excluding these directories from AV scanning. Are there documented instances where this improves performance? Is this best practice for all Orion installs? Thanks
-
Thanks for the quick reply, Denny. It doesn't sound like there would be any way to disable them then. I can't speak for others, but I prefer to not be notified at the application level. If a component goes down, within an application, that is sufficient notification that there is a problem.

temark, I'm not clear on what you did here with the alerting for thin AP's. What do you mean by creating low level alerts making the AP dependent upon the switch? I would also like to be able to include Thin AP's in dependency groups.

Wow...and I thought we had alot of nodes. Thanks for the info, guys. Anyone else?
-
Will do. Anyone else have any ideas?
-
Thanks, Jonathan. Do you know if the net.snmp would give me a hard-drive and CPU/Memory statistics for this VM?
-
Do you have Engineer's Toolset? If so, can you do a discovery in there and see what interfaces are found? I'm just wondering if its a NPM thing or happening with multiple SNMP discovery tools.
-
Thanks, Stuart. That is helpful, however aLTeReGo has already explained that to me in my feature request thread. Unfortunately, this doesn't really solve the main problem. It doesn't look like I'm getting anywhere with this request so I may give it a shot. Thanks

Yes, the ESX hosts in question are listed under VMware settings, but the "Poll Through" button is greyed out.Thats part of my problem.
