Thanks, Chris. I gave that a shot and I believe I better understand the problem now. I realize this pane is not just for configuration changes, but rather any changes that occur within the NCM application. I would like to keep RTD entries, I just don't see any reason to show the "Discarded Config" entries. It looks like…

Sedmo, you're absolutely right. I did hear back from Support yesterday and that is basically what I was told. The suppression is not specific to the monitor that is triggered. Instead, it queries the entire database for any node matching the suppression. I'm at a loss as to why suppressions would be configured this way.…

You need to add the resource to that particular Node page. Probably the Node Details page. You can then position the resource anywhere you like on the page. You need to remember that not everyone wants their custom poller data to be displayed on the node's page, so you have to manually add it.

Another place I use to quickly see all versions for NPM, APM, NCM, NTA..etc is in the registry... HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SolarWinds\Orion\NetFlow Traffic Analyzer HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SolarWinds\Orion\AP Monitor HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SolarWinds\Orion\Core HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SolarWinds\Orion\NCM…

I would agree that the BB browser isn't the greatest, but my company has a BB Enterprise server and we don't allow any other smart-phones to connect to our internal network. Can anyone confirm whether SolarWinds is even considering making a mobile version specifically for BB?

This sounds l ike good stuff. Thanks!

I just opened a case for this. Thanks. Any ideas?

Bump....anyone else have any ideas, thoughts, suggestions?
-
This is awesome! Definitely looking forward to this functionality.

Based on teh screenshot you provided, it looks like you are using the new template. I just started using the new 2005-2008 SQL template and I'm seeing very high Full Scans/Sec on our Orion SQL server. It's averaging around 150-200 Full Scans/sec. Any suggestions on what this could be? One of my DBA's mentioned the box…

SQL servers in general would benefit from data in a raid 10 and OS in a raid 1. Were using a 2950 for our SQL server as well with 4 drives in a raid 10 and two in a raid 1. Performance seems fine.

Sweee! Pushing the policy out to all agents took care of several of the ones that were showing up in warning. Thanks for your help.
-
Thanks, HTH. That is helpful, but how do I customize that page?
-
I just updated to APM 2.5 and I see that there is a template for POP3 UE, but not for Microsoft Exchange. Can this be configured a different way?
-
This is a Cisco 2960G that has been in NPM since we first put NPM into production. I've removed and re-added the switch multiple times. The switch and Orion server are in the same subnet seperated by 2-3 switches.
-
This is true. I suppose it doesn't hurt to have a little extra notification in the event that one stacking port dies, but the switch remains up. Has anyone actually seen a stacking port die for whatever reason?

Do you have some DBA's that could take a look at database performance? Based on the setup you have, I would bet your disks are the bottleneck.
-
Thanks for the pointer to that post, bleearg13. I had missed it. Great ideas. Improving page customization is on our radar, we'll see how much we can get done. Thanks again for the feedback! Having the ability to drag-n-drop boxes within the NPM webpage would be awesome!

I'm not that good with Regular Expression, but you could try adding an asterick at the end of speed...^speed* Also, have you re-ran your configuration downloads since making that change?
-
Any other ideas?

I'd definitely like to give this script a shot. No offense, but has this been tested? I'm a network guy, not a DBA so I wouldn't know if this were the right script or not. As always, I should back up the database prior. Thanks.
-
YES!!! I'm glad I'm not the only one that liked it better with the different colors for events. Normally, the alternating blue/white colors would be helpfull in a list, but displaying the different colors for each event makes it much easier to search for specific events. Also, on the Summary homepage, I've noticed that APM…

I'm also getting an EXTREMELY high CPU utilization on one of my ESX boxes after attempting to install SP2. I wasn't actually able to complete the upgrade though due to some other unknown reasons.
-
Thanks for the input! I've received information from Support that there is a fix in the works but for now it will only be availble in beta. I sincerely hope that a production fix will be made available since IMO this is a big part of the 10.3 release.

The way suppression works is that if the suppression condition is true, then the alert will be supperssed no matter what the trigger condition is. This means you cannot suppress on a node name because if the node name exists in the database the suppression condition is true. So what you need to do is include the nodes you…

Opened Case # 265087. Going to be uploading diagnostics soon.

We monitor all of these on our Orion SQL box... Buffer cache-hit ratio, Latch wats, Full scans, Page reads/sec, Page writes/sec, Disk Reads/sec (Logs), Disk Writes/sec (Logs), Disk Reads/sec (Data), Disk Writes/sec (Data)
-
We are running NPM, APM & NCM on a single VM. Our DB resides on a dedicated physical SQL box optimized for high IO. 4258 elements and no problems.

Bump....I'm trying to do something similar. I would like to create a report that contains data from two different custom pollers. The "Current Node Status" reports only allow me to report on one of the custom pollers. Anyone else have thoughts on how to do this or example code?

I've asked about this as well a few times and the short answer is, no...its not available.
