We are an MPLS consumer with approximately 30 locations with MPLS T1 or DS3 connections. We use these circuits for voice and data. The only issue we face is higher response times which normally is not an issue. We utilize QOS for voice traffic.

When I updated to SAM, I ran several "one-time" discoveries and this is what I used to add the SAM hardware monitors to the majority of our servers. All our servers are Dell. I know for a fact that I had hardware monitors on the majority of our servers and now they are not there. Now, when I do a "one-time" discovery, it…

Thanks, Denny. I've got Case # 92475 opened.
-
Has anyone, who was having this issue, installed SP2 yet? If so, any improvement?
-
I checked permissions and they seem to be normal. I'm not sure if there is some Solarwinds user account that needs to have permissions though. I've installed numerous NPM & NCM updates on this box in the last few months and haven't had this issue. I also checked for any other Terminal Server sessions and there aren't any.…

Make sure that when you are viewing the "Web Display" properties in the Universal Device Poller that the option for "Do you want to display results on your Orion website?" is checked Yes.

Dang...swee = sweet :-)

You beat me to it. I use 5 of those same OIDs for my APC UPS pollers.
-
Are you referring to the SNMP OID that I put in my first post? If so, thats the one I'm using.

Obviously there are probably more important things to improve/change/fix in upcoming releases. I was just very surprised and dissapointned when I saw that the events were changed to pastel colors. More importantly, it seemed that before NPM 9.5 there was a greater variation in colors. In other words, each individual event…

These are great requests. I especially like the suggestion to add more sorting and manipulation features into a policy report once its been run. It would be very helpfull to be able to select multiple nodes on a report and execute a script. Thanks

Update! Good news...we restarted snmp on one of them running ESX3 and that worked. Were still working on the others. So, is the problem with ESX 4 due to programming within Orion or are the MIBS that VMware uses all jacked up?
-
David, thanks for clarifying...that makes me feel better. :) Andy, no I haven't done the upgrade yet. I was just trying to anticipate what I may have to plan for when I do the upgrade. Thanks
-
I'm very curious how the upgrades are going as well. My track record for NPM updates has been incredibly bad up to this point so I'm a little hesitant to move to v10.
-
OP, I setup something similar for our APC Symmetras. I created a new NPM View called APC Details. I then added the appropriate resources for each of the UnDP's. My page displays the following items within a table: UPS Battery Temp, Battery Capacity, Battery Run Time Remaining, Input Line Voltage, Output Load. I also have…

Unfortunately, there is now a known bug that once you exclude those specific sensors they are added back in on the next discovery.
-
My NPM site has been stable since late last week, but it crashed this afternoon. I then replaced the MapEngine.dll files. We'll see how that goes. It's definitely gotten better, but not fixed yet.
-
Filtering - makes sense. This is a little out of my realm, but I can pass the request along. What specifically do you want to filter? Well, some of the APM events are redundant IMO. I would like to be able to filter or disable some of them. For example, I don't necessarily need an event that shows the application and the…

Any update on this?

This has got me thinking now. Our SQL box only has 4GB RAM and has a few other non-SolarWind databases running. Up until now, performance has been fairly good, but I bet we could increase performance by increasing RAM. I'm not a DB guy by any means...is there something in particular I could look at or monitor to determine…

If I understand your question correctly, I cannot browse to the DMZ Orion web-interface from the EOC server due to the firewall. We are only allowing port 1777. As far as the ID's go, how do you tie the DMZ pass-through authentication to a local account? If EOC users are accessing the EOC web-interface using pass-through…

Yes, they are listed under the Vcenter, BUT are greyed out. I have "managed" them several times, but nothing changes. I'm inclined to delete & re-add the nodes, but I would lose historical data.
-
Has anyone actually used it and can confirm it works like it's supposed to? Does it truly replace all WMI monitors seamlessly?
-
I'm not a SQL guy at all, so I'm trying to make this work. I was able to get my alert to display in MB, but how did you get the 750 to round up to a whole number?
-
I would agree. This would be helpfull.
-
I was getting the same thing until I found this. http://schipka.com/archives/34 That link doesn't seem to be working any longer. Did you find it anywhere else?
-
Any update on this fix?
-
Yep...this would be a great enhancement.
-
As others have already said, it really depends on your environment and how may elements you're monitoring. In most cases though, you really should have a dedicated SQL box. SQL can be extremely heavy on IO reads & writes. The IO patterns on an IIS/Application server could be completely different. If you were to putt all…

Should I open up a case for this? Anyone else experience this?
