  • Well, I got it working. I had to turn all of my Orion services to manual and then reboot the box. It looks like some service/process was hung somewhere preventing the install. If anyone else is having issues, give this a shot. Thanks for the help & suggestions!
  • Oh! One more thing. We need to have the ability to proude totals or counts within a NCM report. That way I could run reports showing the number of routers, switches, firewalls or the number of 2811's and ASA 5505's.
  • Bump. I just saw a similar issue today. I have a template assigned to one of my SQL servers. The template has a WMI service monitor. This one WMI monitor monitors the SQL server process. It was showing unknown and said, "Unexpected Error Occurred. Out of Memory". The SQL box is always out of memory because its a SQL…
  • It's going to vary depending on your environment, but here is the HTML source that I used for each graph. If you just add a "Universal Deivce Poller Summary Chart" resource to your page, you can then modify the values from there. <center> <a href="thwack.solarwinds.com/.../CustomChart.aspx 24…
  • It would be helpfull for me to simply copy existing accounts.
  • I've been restarting the w3wp service at least once a day for 4 weeks now - often 2 or 3 times a day. All I heard from support was a request for diagnostics - no word on even whether this was just me that had this problem - it's obvious from this thread it's quite widespread... I have to say I'm not very impressed with the…
  • Even though I was told numerous times by SolarWinds support that this would be fixed in SP2, I don't see any mention of this problem in the release notes. Can someone from SolarWinds, PLEASE confirm whether or not this was intended to be fixed? If not, when can we expect a resolution?
  • Diddo. This would be a VERY usefull report.
  • I've opened cases with SolarWinds & EMC. So far, no one has been able to explain the extremely high IO Response Times on these two Hot Spares. There really should be a way to disable monitoring, within Profiler, for Hot Spares. Does anyone know of a way to do this. I don't see any reason to collect statistics on hot spres.
  • No dice. Still not able to select the "Pool Through" button.
  • Thanks, Roger. Does it require the Configuration Wizard to run? Also, can you confirm whether it only uses SNMP ports to query netperfmon on the servers?
  • I've been trying to develop a custom report within NCM for more detailed VLAN info as well. In order to harvest any VLAN information from inventory, you need to enable the "Bridge Table - Layer 2 Forwarding Tables" within Inventory Settings. Inventory will then display any ports that are configured as access VLAN X. It…
  • I'm looking at these MIBs using the SNMP Browser and I'm seeing 5 seperate OID's for MsgsPending. 23, 24, 25, 30 & 31. 1.3.6.1.4.1.3530.5.25.1.202 Any idea what these would be?
  • Maybe I'm missing something, but if you're using APM, you can just browse through the servers performance counters and select the one that you want to monitor. APM should take care of the syntax for you. Have you tried using the "Find Process, Services and Performance Counters" option within APM Settings?
  • I would like the ability to rely solely on NCM for my inventory management purposes, but so far it doesn't do everything I need. I have created custom properties to track device locations, SmartNet info and Rack location...etc. The number one thing it lacks is the ability to track equipment that isn't on the network,…
  • Which ports do you alert on? When I do a List Resources on one of my switches there are three different interfaces for each stacking port. StackPort1, StackSub-St1-1, StackSub-St1-2
  • Thanks guys! I've started configuring it and it looks good so far.
  • DirtySouth, How much RAM does your SQL server have and are you using NTA (netflow), as well? 4GB RAM and no Netflow. This box has a few other small databases on it as well. We've got NPM, NCM & APM, with a total of 951 nodes, 1298 interfaces and 946 volumes. Surprisingly we average about 60% physical memory and 10% CPU…
  • I was provided a KB article this morning with a possible fix. The temporary fix was to adjust the IIS Application Pools memory consumption. Unfortunately, I've had to restart IIS twice since that time. I'm no developer, but I'm wondering if the high memory consumption of the w3wp.exe isn't necessarily a cause, but just a…
  • The download of the config is wokring. If I look at the RTN log file, it shows that everytime a change is made, NCM downloads the config & then discards it. The log says, "downloaded and discarded Running config - no change". However, if you manually compare the current running config with the last config downloaded, there…
  • Sorry for the delay. These are good ideas. I really don't think we have any duplicate IP addresses on the network, but I'll look into it. I'm still working on the debugs and if necessary will move on to sniffs. Thanks again. Stay tuned...
  • I did try that, but unfortunately it didn't work. Earlier today I rebooted the server and that appears to have cleared up this problem. Thanks for your assistance.
  • Any idea when this will be fixed? I'm seeing the same problem.
  • Bump. I'm noticing the same problem as well. Any update?
  • Can you be more specific about what you're trying to accomplish or what information you'd like to include on the report? I've got one custom poller that polls temperature sensors within a sever and another that polls the model name/number. I would like the report to display the server name, IP Address, Model and last…
  • It definitely depends on your environment and geographical locations, but here is how we do it. I've created severla Custom Properties that i use. "Building", "Data_Center" & "Node_Type". Level 1: Building Level 2: Data Center Level 3: Node Type (Server, Router, Access Switch, Core Switch, Firewall...etc)
  • My trigger is based off of a custom interface property called, "Critical". My suppression was based off of the node's status. I've found that I have the same problem whether I'm using Interface or Node as the Type of Property to Monitor. It might be helpfull if you were to open a ticket as well and reference mine.
  • In short, installation did not go well at all. There were no instructions at all for configuring the CLR Integration. My syslog screen is now broken. I had to run a sql query because all of my nodes were missing from the Systems Manager. I noticed that there are multiple pages within the Admin page that have no back button…
  • I've followed those steps. They worked fine when adding our NS-120 a year ago. When I attempt to add one of our AX4's, I get error, "HTTP Error (401 Authorization Requred)." I know for a fact that I'm using the right credentials. Are you certain this works if the AX is running Navisphere Express?
  • Any word on that? We use constant VPN site-to-site tunnels and would like to ensure 100% availability.
