Wow...I guess I shouldn't feel so bad about 6-10 second refresh times then. I'll be interested to see different drives make a big difference. I'm sure it will help.

Has anyone tried completely reinstalling NPM and then applying SP2 with or without the hotifx?
-
No problem. I appreciate you checking. It very could be a correlation to our exchange servers since we have 5 of them. No, I don't have a 202.20. I'll keep looking into this and let you know.

I get a results email when my jobs complete and the only errors I've noticed are snmp timeouts, but that varies depending on the device. I don't believe thats related. The Config Backup finsihes within 20 minutes (432 devices). The inventory takes much longer and I believe is the reason for the job not stopping.

Thanks, but those are the exact same instructions i've read through numerous times. There is no default admin account configured on this AX. We have another account that is used to configure the device and that is the one I'm using. I'll keep looking around and trying to figure it out.

Did anyone find a cause or resolution for this error? We just got this error out of the blue today. I rebooted the NPM server and it's working fine now.
-
I tried the Brocade config template and it does successfully download, however it doesn't look like the running config. It looks like an SNMP Walk. Am I missing something here? I'm using Telnet.

I would like to see this as well. In addition, it would be great if we could combine multiple custom poller gauges into a single resource. This would free up a lot of space on a Node Details page.
-
Ah Ha!!! Could it be the MAPS that are the common thread here??!!! I've got a map on my "home" page. Got maps? Yep, I've got a map on my homepage was well.

I usually have to kill the w3wp.exe process, manually stop the World Wide Web Publishing Service and then restart the IIS service. If that doesn't work, I restart the Netperfmon website in IIS. I haven't noticed this issue affecting NCM.
-
We've got it working and it has worked pretty well so far. Have you verfied that you don't have any lines added to your ignore statements that would ignore all config changes? I believe you're referring to the Config "Comparison Criteria" where you can specify lines that are ignored when comparing downloaded config to last…

Thanks again.. I also want to confirm, from someone who has actually done it, that you can monitor services. How exactly does it do that without using WMI?
-
Also, when I'm looking at the Component Details page, there is a response time gauge in the top right. The max value in the gauge is 2500 so the gauge is always pegged and red. Shouldn't there be a way to change the min/max values in this gauge?
-
I would also like to have the ability to change from SNMP monitoring to ICMP only.
-
We see alot of discards on interfaces that are configured for QOS.
-
I see. Have you tried browsing through Performance Monitor on the exchange server itself to see if you can find those same counters? I'm not sure why, but I've noticed that same exchange servers don't have the exact same counters.
-
Thats a good workaround. I changed my config backup & inventory to stop after 8 hours. Thanks!

Thanks. You said you have 4 disks in a RAID 10 for the SQL db to live on. What type of disks are they (SATA, SAS, ?)? 6x 300GB SAS drives. How is your website performance? Is it fairly snappy? If you don't mind saying, what are the specs on your polling engines (app servers)? Were just using a single polling engine.

This is perfect. Thanks!

Does anyone think a Orion NPM & Cirrus would benefit from running on a 64-bit OS?
-
I've got it setup on our four exchange servers now and with the exception of one they are all hovering around 16 seconds as well. I just sent a test message from my personal account to our Orion APM account and it arrived within 1 second. These accounts reside on two different exchange servers. Anyone have any thoughts on…

I just upgraded to SP2 and it looks like its fixed. I'm not prompted for a community string and the badwidth gauge loads properly. Thanks!
-
I'm not sure if my question was completely understood...maybe this screenshot would help. I'm seeing five different instances and I'm wondering what each of them are. [IMG]i7.photobucket.com/.../IMG]

Me too!

I've noticed a few more issues. Can no longer access the Admin page on the NPM toolbar. Getting error, "Cannot start SolarWinds Orion NPM Web Engine (OrionNPMWeb.Application). Error Number 424..." I've opened a case for that one. When I use the "Find Node" feature within System Manager, the nodes listed under "Found Nodes"…
-
Have you opened a case for the issues you have experienced? We do have a KB on enabling CLR for others if needed, which can be found here I've got a case opened for the syslog issue, but I've spent way too much time on the phone already. My issue with the custom poller uses a transform to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit.…

Thanks! The SSH link seems to be working, but telnet just causes the webpage to load indefininately. Also, do you know the syntax to pass a particular Putty profile when clicking either the telnet or ssh link?
-
When I run the addsys command from the TestSmiProvider.exe, I get an error saying "HTTP Error (401 Authorization Requried)". I know for a fact the username/password I entered is correct because I can login to the AX4 using the same credentials. I'm not following you on where you're seeing the "SMI-S field" configuration…
-
I also installed the SP1 update. It fixed the issues I was having with the maps showing nodes and other maps unavailable. w00t!

We use our site-to-site as a backup circuit in case the primary goes down. Because of this, it doesn't do any good to monitor the "inside" interface. i'm toying with the idea of creating a loopback interface on each remote routers and then through the magic of ACLs or routing only allow monitoring of that interface through…
