Definitely interested in Chromecast, especially for the price. It's a lot like my AppleTV's airplay functionality.

In that case my original feature request was not accomplished at all. Let me give you a specific example. If Server A reboots or perhaps has a brief loss of network connectivity, the hardware health monitor goes into "Undefined" state. As soon as connectivity is restored, the hardware health monitor is UP and now I get…

The other big feature that I would like for a configuration management tool is asset management. If you could tie in information like purchase dates, smartnet/support expiration, support type and also track equipment life cycle. In other words, if I could track where a particular switch was put in, where it moved to 2…

Just to clarify, I don't want to disable them if they are legitimate events. What I want to disable is the massive FLOOD of bogus events if a server is rebooted or SNMP briefly restarts. There is no need to send me 20 events saying every single piece of the server's hardware is unknown or up if the server reboots. However,…
-
I just updated to 5.5 & I don't see an option to do this. The SAM admin guide makes mention of how to suppress certain hardware event types completely, but that's not what I'm trying to do. Am I missing something here?
-
Bump. This constant SAM Hardware flooding is getting extremely old. Any udpate?

Is the Dell Service Tag OID in a Dell switch MIB ? If not, this probably won't be possible. If it is, then I completely agree.
-
aLTeReGo, I appreciate your assistance on this. However, I don't think you're understanding what my original request was. 1.) I DO NOT want to disable all of these events completely. 2.) I want to supress these events when a server is rebooted or is unreachable. If a server goes down or is rebooted, there is no need to…
-
Is this being addressed in 5.5 specifically? I just updated to the most recent "release" which was 5.2.0 SP1 & I'm still getting bombarded with events constantly. This literally makes our event view resources unusable most of the time because important events are pushed off of the edge of the resource.

The smaller organizations that I've worked for typically have not had any kind of configuration management at all. It's one of those things where you don't know you need it until you need it. Notepad and a bunch of txt files were the norm in many cases, but it was all manual & didn't give you any automated change…

I've seen two opposite ends of the spectrum & I think that there should be a happy medium between the two. Company "A" had an extremely strict BYOD policy...no BYOD at all and no wireless access at all on the internal network. Company "B" had no restriction whatsoever on BYOD and had no firewall or restrictions on the…

It's great that your management finally saw the light and purchased a decent configuration management tool. It truly can save time & money. Pretty soon you won't know how you lived without it.

Bump. Shall we assume that SolarWinds doesn't care about this issue or is someone going to address this?
-
SolarWinds' products have really come a long way since I first started working with them 7 years ago. Product updates have become more & more stable and features are continually added to add value. I've never been part of a company who had a full-time "monitoring" admin so I've usually been the guy doing the SolarWinds…
-
Yes, I have used those reports, but I'd like for that functionality to be included in the Node overview page. It would save a lot of time. All of the graphs in general need to have more flexibility.
-
Yeah, I've tried using custom properties and reports, but it doesn't get you very far with what I'm talking about. The reports are not very flexible.
-
There's no doubt the lines are getting blurred between compute, network & storage. I think its important as an engineer that you are comfortable with storage, networking & virtualization in order to stay relevant in the workplace. With SDN coming quickly, you're going to need to be able to talk all three areas. I'm not…

Is the survey supposed to be closed now? Did I miss my chance?
-
BUMP. Is there anyone else from SolarWinds that can please chime in on this?
-
Thanks, guys! I'm anxiously awaiting the next release.

"Was the traps page not displaying any traps?" We currently have 2 Orion issues. 1. The website times out daily, and need to restart IIS. 2. The traps page does not display. It times out everytime. Tickets are open for both issues. Running 9.5 SP2 HF1. Whats this I hear about SP3 possibly resolving the trap issue? I don't…

I just received and applied SP3. I was also having a Traps issue and this has been fixed. Will monitor and advise if this fixed my maps/page refresh issue. Dave Was the traps page not displaying any traps? We upgraded to SP3 yesterday and still have to restart IIS a few times per day. We have two servers: one a…
-
Now that SP3 has been out (unofficially) for a few days, can anyone confirm if it has fixed their issues? Thanks
-
Bump...this would be very helpfull. I'm trying to monitor OSPF neighbor relationships. The UDP returns the entire table and I would like to be able to alert based on a single row within that table. Thanks

I just installed NPM Sp2 for the first time and then applied the hotfix. The NPM webpage won't load at all and I get a huge error with code CS1501. I"ve uploaded an updated diagnostics to support. We are now troubleshooting issues with NCM that ocurred after the SP1 upgrade.
-
We removed the map from our NPM homepage about a week ago and haven't had a single issue since that time. I'm VERY hesitant to install SP3 before the bugs are worked out. Once it goes into production and I hear some more feedback on it, I'll upgrade.

Any updates on this? Monitoring WMI statistics I would think is a MAJOR requirement for APM.
-
I believe I'm seeing the same issue. I've got multiple exchange servers that I'm monitoring queues on. The application monitors all show as "UP", but the graphs don't show any statistical data whatsoever. For example, the MIN/MAX Average Statistic Data" graph is completely blank on every single server I'm monitoring. If…

I went ahead and removed our map from the home page. We'll see how it goes.

Well, I'm not exactly sure how, but I finally got the AX to shop up. I appreciate all the help. On a side note, has anyone managed to get Profiler to work with EMC VNX? Based on the error I received, it could be a limitation of the SMI Provider.
