I agree! I'm going to work with the THWACK team and see what can be done ~Dez~

Agreed! This makes me sick also: Hackers Could Make a Killing After Finding Vulnerability in Medical Device Tech ~Dez

I hope that is a sarcastic statement... I'm always for Patching! For those with excuses to not patch I have solutions for that as well
-
I agree, they should spend time with these teams while investing in user education from c-level down to the receptionist. What I would like to know is a few questions actually. 1. If we understand and know the security needs why do we not address them continually? 2. Why do we only provide best practices but not use them?…
-
However, they do when it comes to their databases and out of character issues that might be happening. This will assist the sysadmin and network admin to better protect and have normal behavior matching all around. Everyone has skillz knowing how to leverage them is key. ~Dez~

Yes! So the main thing is to keep a level head on the patching. Knee jerk reactions can breed bigger issues. We should have a monitoring discipline in place that will help to see issues after patching when you have a strong baseline. I have increased alerting on some devices I have tested in lab so I can be alerted to…

I'd say there is definitely more going here...
-
This is sooo true... I mean hackers are by nature not following "rules". ~Dez~

I am a fan of splunk! ~Dez~

The major issues I've had is when you upgrade to today's date patches and the server is running a year behind's software. They were not able to obviously guess what patches were coming out in the future so you could potentially break software/applications. Then we get into the conversation of "LAB" environments to test…

No, I don't blame any outside party for being used in malicious intent. Just stating that generally "they" are the go to route of funds. However, I'm glad you caught the tip of the hat there. ~Dez~

I appreciate your honesty greatly! ~Dez

Isn't FB always scandalous, lol

Margaritas and Ted's are the best! The underground unfortunately is going away from lack of businesses, but back in the day that was a cool way to shop and move around. #OkieLife ~Dez~

This is separated between silos and then managed by the above management or engineer. If there is not a set overall policy these can trickle up to and down from then that is definitely a place to start implementing security protocols within the teams. Thank you, Dez
-
This is a must to be alerting on these events as well. As you are able to see when people are shutting things down and making changes to your network. This allows you to quickly identify issues and begin your recover plan. ~Dez~
-
I certainly try to be as real as possible! I sometimes get my hand swatted but I'm tough as nails. ~Dez~
-
Absolutely love your guys thinking out side of the box replies! Thsee are the conversations that will help me crank out more uses with products to ensure security. "Always thinking" ~Dez~
-
Preach it! No really preach it as my voice is horse... ~Dez~
-
Ugh! THIS right here is why I love helping people do "audits" on their monitoring systems. Regardless of vendor, the need is there and we should re-evaluate often our setups. ~Dez~
-
I hope it’s a great day for you YOU DESERVE IT!

Awesome monitoring setup! ~ Dez

Nice one I think that we need a location of our own to have resources within. Maybe I should hit up the new Community Manager we have. Introduce myself with a want list, hehehe ~Dez!

I've been watching it and thinking about the scenario, a lot. I can really see where this can become a new type of ransoming.

How about LifeLock selling credit protection that stems from Equifax? Oh, and lets not forget the insider trading and the breach in March they had also... SMH CRAZINESS is everywhere, I'm not paranoid... LOL ~Dez~

We love keeping you guys on your toes! Plus, we really like to geek out... I know, I know it's hard to believe ~Dez~

Thank you! I'm always looking for ways to make people go hmmm. ~Dez~
