THANK YOU! Another great point of why I like teams to work together to catch a near miss or an assumption as that is never good for anyone. ~Dez~

Nice, I love it when people still like to join in the fun! ~Dez

The bad thing is that we are only hearing about the hacks/breaches that they find out about! Think about that for a moment and look at how long it took them to know they were breached. Secuirty is a business issue and should be a very fluid, proactive, with a highly readily available reaction. man, I've been in the…

You're only as good as your weakest link. That being said a campaign and on going training can help tighten that chain! "It is a Circle of Trust" ~Dez~

I have a healthy dose of visiolibriphobia The endorphins that come with the "likes" in children make me wonder if that is yet another cause for seeking out the next "high"...

Same to you!

I still feel like the cloud is a form of dummy terminals connected to a mainframe... Technology is not necessarily becoming complicated it's really just expanding on already learned techniques and ideas. But, then again, I am a weird minded individual when it comes to seeing/naming things ~Dez~

This issue is with MSFT since its in place upgrade broke its .net. SolarWinds products were just hanging out waiting on their turn to upgrade then couldn't start So to prevent this I'm hoping there are some cool "best practices" from any server admins to prevent this on in place OS upgrades in general. Still holding out…

If you have any questions or anything PM me and I'll help you to the best of my abilities Thanks, ~Dez~

You could download and use an evaluation version for the VM in your test environment so you can test functionality. When you install the bits you already have it will ask to license and then if you don't it gives you 30 days of usage. I completely feel you on the 50% cost for a lab environment when your a paid customer and…

Ugh, it play's up the self-conscious and self loathing of our minds. The amount of data AND the way as a business on FB can target users so easily is mind blowing, to me. Yet, they state how they don't understand HOW people could buy ads and pinpoint or target people... The lack of users knowledge to the amount of…

Hero!! rschroeder I'm so glad you commented You are absolutely correct in your comment and thinking! Hence why, I offered baseline's and more ways to verify security needs other than monitoring logs. You, seriously, get me and my questioning 100% and appriciate greatly your spot on commentary and security knowledge of…

This is another reason that I like to bring up security talks with all teams. it seems to take the silo part out as everyone feels like they are contributing to the greater good. Other outside areas feel like they are able to use their expertise with others and vice versa. I remember a few years ago security was a cuss…

Something you can also do if you currently have implemented with Netflow is show what devices are pointed to SolarWinds to send flow data. Those are useful to have especially in large scale environments and a quick reference on standardization. ~Dez~

Happen in 2013 for the data collection and supposedly FB is going to alert all users. That will be interesting...

That is fantastic! I'm glad I could help in a time of need Mainly for vulnerabilities past, ,present, and in the future, monitoring offers a great way to help people be aware and have the ability to keep a level headed approach to how you can monitor the situation and mitigate with appropriate tools you currently have.…

It can be a nightmare... However, its a necessity regardless. I've found mostly its the "just getting started" that's the biggest battle.

The more "convenience" options and technology add ons we buy into allows us to be pleasantly looking down while our pockets are being picked. Unplugged is a great way to keep yourself "safer", but the reality is that other people will still have your information... ~Dez~

That is what I have in place at the moment! I appreciate the share of SAM awesomeness! Realistically is like to have this option within just for simplicity

Web filtering is also a great way to try and block ransomware. However, if we are not addressing user education then as soon as a device leaves it's not protected. Security as a business forethought should include security tips and advice for away from work technology uses. No one wants to be the person that brings the…

OMGoodness YES! I've been saying for years the owners of those quizzes and or FB would have some great analytics on people in general. Then I started looking at their policies of use and was like OMG they literally take over permissions of everything. I took 2 quizzes from FB in 2015 and haven't since. I also go through…
