You can configure the location of the database, temp and log directories during the SQL installation. It is possible to change directory locations post install, too. Your log directory should be on a separate disk to avoid IO contention, since every write must first go through the transaction log. It would be best if you…

Comparing the output with the Synology MIBs found here, it looks like you can monitor the following hardware health related objects: cpuFanStatus diskStatus diskTemperature powerStatus systemFanStatus temperature I've made a UnDP that includes the above and other objects that might be of interest. Get it here. Import it to…

The answer is yes, you can monitor server memory on QRadar. That and CPU, storage and network performance. There's a catch, though. QRadar by default only accepts SNMP queries on port 8001. So you will need to change the port used with SNMP in Orion to 8001.

Ok, First off you need to confirm that you are monitoring the core switches using SNMP. To do that, click on the Node in question and in the Management resource, click Edit Node. Confirm that the Polling Method is set to "Most Devices". You will need to provide the SNMP community string. If you don't know what that it is…

Mez, 4 physical cores are enough for what you require. There's even room for more thread processing. In my experience you should turn off HT on those CPU's as well as power saver features in the BIOS. Control it though the OS instead. With regards to the NPM server, it is more important to have a well performing SQL server…

Hi Jan, Thanks for the reply. I'll make sure that the stacked APE is licensed correctly on the server before implementing HA.

Hi, Is the second exchange server resolvable using FQDN? Do you have Client for Microsoft Networks and File and Printer Sharing enabled on the primary/active NIC?
-
Hi there, Not everything is monitored through vCenter because vCenter doesn't have all the performance details of hosts. You still need SNMP to monitor performance. Also, some details are not available on specific versions of ESX unless retreived using SNMP. VIM is designed to be backwards compatible with the different…

Hi Peter, Latest Admin guide does not include details about Audit Kerberos Authentication Service and Audit Kerberos Service Ticket Operations policies. Will you please followup with doc rep? Periodically looking through all the No ones is not feasible in our case Why should we be bothered to take time out and manually go through thousands of Nodes. This task would require a dedicated staff member to be carried out. What if the staff member forgets or is unsure whether a Node should be added to NCM or not? What…

Open Orion Service Manager on the main Orion server found in All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features Confirm that all services are running. You might want to shut everything down then start them again after checking the following: Confirm that the Windows service Message Queueing is started and running Confirm…

Hi Michal, Thanks for the swift reply. Sorry missing the exact details. This is what I need: Node | Number of Ethernet Ports | Number of Ethernet Ports available | Number of Gigabit Ports | Number of Gigabit Ports Available | Number of 10Gig Ports | Number of 10Gig Ports Is it doable?

Hi, Do you know if this issue has been resolved in the latest WPM version?

Hi there, Do you happen to know if there is a solution for those of us that perform web transactions against intranet sites, with high security and AD authentication, and have no choice but to use domain users?

Unless you are creating a custom chart web report, it should pull the data out reasonable fast. We're pulling metrics out from three times as many nodes and it takes about 10 ish seconds. Is it a custom table based report? Here's what you can try. Open up the report in good ol report writer, click on Report in the toolbar…

The same issues as you described. Remember to log in to the Orion server as a real administrator, not a domain administrator, when applying the hotfix. After installing the hotfix, it may require you to restart the server. If that is the case then make sure to launch Configuration Wizard manually if it doesn't launch…

Meh! 10.1.3 had the issue with falsely reporting on number of down access points. Try to explain management why 100+ APs out of 162x are down with an availability report, while wlan manager only reports 40 being down.

Nope, C and D are on the same DS. I am lucky as i have VMan too, so i tried the search query and it came up negative.

Hmmm, let's wait and see. If it's there, then we should push for the seconds most requested Alert feature and that is trigger actions based on Time Zone!

Thanks Mav, Looking forward to the feedback.

Got a buddy drop from development. It has been implemented and the page is loading instantly now. Thanks.

You're absolutely right, thanks. Here's a link to the new discussion, for anyone that lands on this page through a search. Down Access Points in NPM 11.5.x

JiriPsota I am getting a notice in Configuration Wizard upon completion that this report was not converted. Any idea what changes between 10.4.x and 10.6.+ have caused this and what is needed to fix it?
-
Excellent, thanks! This really should be a default report and or resource that can be added to a view. Regards, Deltona
