I did the 3.1 upgrade this AM (Tuesday) about 5:15 Pacific time. I saw those 4 files get created but no change in their size since then. I have not gotten any status events all day. My swdebug.log file says the migration aborted right away at 5:30 but SW techies say the migration is still running. I would like to see some…

OK, thanks. Will try.

Thanks for the suggestion. None of my scheduled reports run at that time. Debbi

Don't have a solution, but after I upgraded to 8.5 and then 8.5.1 when we tried to connect to the web console we got a default DirectLink page and could not get to the normal login page.. If you use DirectLink this might be a clue. Had to get a SW techie to dig us out. -Debbi

Found it. Orion picked up its mac address and I traced it from there. Mac was A44C.11C9.E7D3 So here it is. It does not display in the config, obviously: selbr-1h1-rtr1#sh platform mgf statistics cpu BPSM counters: 0 from invalid slot, 0 not for CPU, 0 Unknown packet, 0 Invalid output packets GigabitEthernet0/3 is up, line…

Here is the show run,…

I am using NPM 10.2, will upgrade soon. Just want to verify that this is still true, that one must use the storage product to correctly monitor the netapp interfaces. Some of this things I see that are hinky just using snmp are: Clustered FAS 3240s, releast 8.1: 64-bit counters enabled on node but on interfaces it says…

Some of these networks are very small and run over a T1. A user who is "hogging" one meg of bandwidth would never show up on a central TopN report. We do not export from those small routers or where they first ingress into our central network, so we have to search the flows exporting from our central 6509 switches. I hope…

I am using advanced alerts. For example, let's say one of our local fiber hubs goes down (fiber hubs are ComCast, we do not have monitoring of them). This would affect approximately 10 of our sites, generating a "down" condition for all of our switches and wireless access points for all of the sites, maybe 100 emailed…

Both chart and table are greyed out, leaving only "gauge" as a choice. I will view the video in case it has some magic for this. I mean reports as in report writer. Thanks. Debbi

I did email the tech I have advising me about the upgrade, but thought I might get a faster answer here BTW, I could not find Kiwi upgrade instructions, however, the tech advised me to uninstall the UltiDev Cassini Web Server first. Where is the link to upgrade instructions for this version of Kiwi? Debbi

So you are saying that the only way I can have Kiwi not come up with the message: "Validation fails for 'e-mail from address'" is by limiting the entry to the address itself, without a display name, in the E-Mail From box in Kiwi?

I have chosen the AJAX node list now, but despite checking the "Remember Expanded Groups" option, it does not. Does anyone else's work? -Debbi

Thanks. Since this was a web issue and not specifically a netflow functionality issue I thought it belonged in the NPM forum but I guess I was wrong. Thanks for the info. Perhaps you would be kind enough to tell me if the issue in the thread "Netflow Service Constantly Crashing" is also going to be fixed in the next…

Oh, my... I never thought that a serial number would be a "status"! Thanks!!! I will try it. Debbi

OK, so I really need you guys. Solarwinds techies do not write reports for customers. If you are skilled at SQL queries have an idea of how to do this, I would appreciate the info. Thanks! -Debbi

Thanks, Steve and Sean! That was it! Debbi

As you can see in my original post, the email admins will not make an exception. And it is very rare for me to have an email quarantined even though I deal with scores of vendors via email. Fortunately, the SW tech I am working with now, as opposed to the last tech I worked with, was apparently able to send an email…

OK, I answered my own question. I was running IE6. Firefox and IE7 work fine. End of problem! Hope it might be helpful for someone else who is laging behind the times, too! -Debbi

So the Summary page is listing bits per second averaged over a time frame or is it a snapshot taken every minute or so? -Debbi

We need to do a change of nearly all of our nodes to be polled for 64-bit counters, using NPM 10.3.1. 1. Can I change my nodes to allow 64-bit counters and and expect that Orion will start polling with the correct MIBs without restarting NPM? 2. Will I lose any historical data for the node? 2.5. If I am in "Admin" and…

I set up a Basic alert with this variable and got the correct info. I set up an Advanced alert and just got back the variable (same node). Can you guys verify that yours is working with Advanced Alerts? Thanks! Debbi
-
I opened a support case and was told the ONLY way to disable the alerts en masse is via the method Mike Driskell indicated above. When I did the regedit you suggested, Steve, on May 24, it promptly disabled all alerts even though the box was not checked, so manually doing this is probably not the way to go! I did not try…

I have read this thread and am uncertain as to what the answer is. We have a brand new 8e6 r3000 and I am getting the error about it not supporting the interfaces mib. Is this something I can fix in Orion or must I take it up with 8e6? -Debbi

OK, I will be on 10.4.1 before the move. Debbi

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question! Debbi

OK, then, is there a way to add a bunch of icmp-only nodes (no snmp!) by hostname list or list of IP addresses? I don't want to auto-discover them and do not want to use snmp for this group of nodes.
