OK, since this is probably both a stupid question and involves a Wireless Controller MIB, I will post here instead of making a new topic. I added a UDP for Cisco Serial number and created a Cisco group for it. Then I added a UDP for the number of current associated wireless users in the WLAN. I can now see two things on my…

Thank you for your kind replies. I have not yet tried this but will when I get a few minutes. Thanks again! -Debbi

Thank you for your kind reply. It would be nice if someone had put that info in that thread - I have been watching it daily. Thanks!!

Where did you come up with that???? :) It does work, thank you very much. BTW, I see a big difference in the ${DateTime} between Basic and Advanced alerts. Are you seeing that too? Basic: 1/12/2010 Advanced: Tuesday, January 12, 2010 I need a shorter date/time in Advanced so will have to play with it. Debbi

I am glad I was working with a tech this time who was able to send plain text email. The last tech said he could not control the email format. But even still, every time he sent email, I had to request it be re-sent in plain text, which delayed resolution. Debbi

Who is the person who is supposed to pay attention to Netflow forum on THWACK? I think that person is MIA! Debbi

Was told recently this is still a no-no by SW. ??? -Debbi

So I can add in bulk a list of IPs and they will not resolve via DNS. Or I can add them one by one in Add Node and they will resolve via DNS. Correct? Weird.

Thanks. Will see what happens.

I would like to post two thumbnails here but not sure the best way to do it. if I "upload file" it is not pretty! -Debbi

I don't see a choice for "Min/Max packets in/out, only "per second". Perhaps I am looking in the wrong place? -Debbi

For some reason I cannot find the requirements and upgrade procedure to upgrade Kiwi syslog from version 9.2.1 to version 9.3.2. Can you provide a link? Debbi

How can I monitor the progress of the process? In task manager? What is the process name and how will I be able to tell how far along it is? -Thanks.

Bruce I had that problem and restarting the alerting service fixed it. Apparently this can also be due to one alert being misconfigured and you can uncheck each of your alerts in turn (and save) to see if the EV messages stop. -Debbi

Thanks. The tech almost had me re-installing Netflow to restore the tables to fix this, then he investigated and sent the query to run, thank goodness. It's odd, though. To prove the issue might not be related to the NetFlowSources table, I installed a new switch wtih a *never-used-before (never was a Netflow Source) IP…

Not sure how I did it, but your solution worked. I reran SP4 when done just in case. Thank you, my friend! Debbi

My understanding was that the blue line was the average and the bars were the actual! -Debbi

I feel your pain, Chris, and appreciate your raling the time to detail your issues here. I have had some similar problems with 8.5.1, detailed in another thread. One of the Resources I have always used they just simply decided to no longer offer, without letting anyone know (grouping by snmp-location), so my main page is…

OK, thanks. So is there a fix? :)

This happened to me, too. When upgrading (?) to 8.5 and then 8.5.1 (same problem) DirectLink default screen came up and we could not get the login page. No menu items either so could not get to the "Accounts" to disable DirectLink. SW techie had to dig us out and even now our web has some display problems. I am sure we'll…

What do you mean about getting version 9 running with x64? We are running 64-bit Windows 2003 server on both our Orion box and SQL box. So far it's fine. What are your experiences? Debbi

Thank you for your kind replies. Choosing the top check box "Alert Name" and clicking "disable" does not have the same functionality as what we had before. We have only selected alerts we have active from a *long list* at any given time. If I disable them all, how would I remember which ones had been enabled? Debbi
-
Is this fixed in 9.5.1? I have been waiting for a fix since I opened a ticket in August of 2009. Thanks. Debbi
-
Would someone please verify this as true or not? It would be much appreciated. Thanks. -Debbi

What was the effect on your db size when you chose to monitor every port? -Debbi

Andy, are you saying Sedmo's response is right or my initial attempt? What sedmo says sounds like it makes sense. Thanks to you both! Debbi
-
Thanks for your responses. Since I have already tried 8.5.1 and it did not help, I am not sure what my recourse will be. One of the techs will be helping me in a few days to try to get things working again completely. I think it's a great idea to get some customers to volunteer to test a release. Debbi

When I upgraded to 8.5.1 all of my user-set bandwidths reset to the ones snmp picks up and I had try to reset them all. Some will not reset and I have an open ticket on this issue. Perhaps your issue is related to the same cause, but I am sorry you are also having an issue with the interface bandwidth settings. -Debbi
-
On a 6500 series Cisco switch you can probably use show snmp mib ifmib ifindex Other Cisco boxes have similar commands to list the ifindexes of the interfaces. Then you can match up the ifindex number with the number in the Orion error message. Debbi

This is great news, thanks. Is the new version in customer testing yet? If so, what is the feedback? I did open a support ticket when no one chimed in here right away and the tech identified my problem as a disk queue issue that could likely only be fixed by faster/better raid disks. I will await the next version and see…
