Aloha... I just checked mine, and I did not receive any of the one's I answered. Mahalo... DaHaole

I had it unchecked (had not checked the comments yet) and got it wrong as well.

Thanks for the quick turn around. Mahalo nui loa! DaHaole

When I read the title of this, the first thing that jumped into my mind was - DevOps makes sure that the SysAdmin still has a job. You then took the article in another direction. While I agree with other peoples posts that automation and standardization are key you are missing a big part of what is missing in todays…

This would be huge for me and my needs. I can work around the limitation but it causes more scripts that need to be maintained as we have to case to limit the possibilities. I think the Single dot allowed in the Message and Statistic should also be adjusted to allow for more descriptive fields: Message.1: N/AStatistic.1:…

Aloha.... Just completed the survey - but did not see a place to put my Thwack name. Did I miss it?

Observability and monitoring complement each other, with each one serving a separate objective. Monitoring is a subset of and key action for observability. You can only monitor an object that is observable. Monitoring tracks the overall health of an application. It collects data on how the system is performing in terms of…

Aloha.... I have been getting this as well. I ran into it when the version came out, and had to rebuild my entire environment (I know I should have patched PPE before deploying into Prod). I waited until a week or so ago to try again (moving from 2024.2.1) and ran into this again. I have started a case. As a part of the…

Since our customers (people that expect us to monitor their things) usually create their own API, just making sure the process to develop custom API monitors is enough - Azure is always a good place to start (proper auth calls, how to determine appropriate payload, etc.)

Mahalo Greg... That'll work for the managed switches, I will have a secondary loop that checks for the unmanaged ones as long as there are 2 items up when the scan goes through. Da Haole
-
Aloha Greg... I have around 20 different switches that I pull this data off of and some have more some have less. I have limited this to just my main switch/router at the HQ location as it seems to have the most inconsistencies. There are 33 machines in various VLANs (not VLAN specific) out of roughly 90-100…

Aloha.... Going off what jm_sysadmin started, there seems to be some confusion on which columns are in which table/view. Try: SELECT Caption as DisplayName, StatusDescription as [Status] FROM Orion.Nodes AS N JOIN Orion.NodesCustomProperties AS NCP ON N.NodeID = NCP.NodeID WHERE (N.Status = 2) AND (NCP.IsTest = 'False')…

Aloha Greg..... That's what it was. I upgraded to the newest release and now can run simultaneous sessions off the one server. Mahalo.... Da Haole

Aloha.... You present a workaround that is doable but, what I am wondering is: if you go bare bones on the underlying code for the Trigger Action, all Solarwinds is doing is using a nice GUI to get the variables and then issuing code line similar to for i = 1 to X (total number of computers in computername) net message…

Aloha Greg.... "Switch Port Mapper currently (V10.4) exports to CSV, XML, and HTML" Yes, I noticed this, and it is an improvement over what I was first faced with, but I need to automate the way to get this data (run it on off hours, various times), is there a similar command line like the Switch Port Mapper tool?
-
Aloha.... For this first ask, the location is at the end of the query, just before the semi-colon. The second parameter for DATEADD is the number of hours before you want, you can also change the first parameter to day if you want it in the last 24 hours (or any number of days). ) AS dtl_tickets WHERE StartDateTime >…

Aloha... If you install the SDK, it includes SWQL studio. Or on the main server you can connect to the Database using Database Manager. I do see the item DisplayName, but the only way I could get it to pull from the query was to use "with Inherited Properties". Mahalo... DaHaole

'A 'ole pilikia - thanks.

Aloha Greg.... Actually it occurs in both instances. The ARP table for the router does appear to be missing some of the data (like for the ADIC library) but it also has a lot more MAC Addresses and IP address combinations than what Port Mapper is reporting. Mahalo... Da Haole

Aloha... I just spent the last two days fighting this problem. Unfortunately in my case it required a full uninstall/install of my main poller/web server (Case # 00508761 - Upgraded to 2019.4. Running Configuration Wizard fails at Configuring Cortex Integration General). In short a couple of things I did differently this…

Aloha Greg.... Can you qualify this? Do you mean that multiple users can log into a single computer and run a single license at the same time? Or that using MSTSC you can remotely connect and use the workspace license by multiple users - but not at the same time? I had inadvertantly connected to 2 seperate connections and…

Mahalo Greg.... Looks great, except that I am unable to get the DNS name resolution. If I go through the UI with the same switch data and I get name resolution. (note the ip address has been changed to protect the innocent ) C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Engineer's Toolset>SWSPMCMD.exe X.X.X.X public X.X.X.X public /scommv=2…

Aloha Yann.... That did it, mahalo nui loa. The report that was at issue was the Orion_Accounts.OrionReport. BTW when I opened the file (could not in Report Writer) in notepad the front of the file was: "{\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252\deff0\deflang1033{\fonttbl{\f0\fnil\fcharset0 Courier New;}{\f1\froman\fcharset0 Times New…

Aloha... Thanks for the quick response. Here are the answers to your questions: 1) Controllers 2) I have tried all Group by settings. Most leave the left column blank, but for the "Controllers" option it states Autonomous APs (0) and Rogue APs(0). Mahalo DaHaole
