Is there any advancement with this request. Any Cisco ISIS support?

If an employee wants to leave the company for whatever reason they will, but if you provide no incentive(pay, promotion, productivity) then that event will happen sooner than later. I tend to find that if the company supports the employee more often than not then the turnover is reduced. If the turnover is low than the…

The major roadblock I see to providing an effective data privacy policy, is the lack of the sense of urgency. There are still organizations out there that think they are immune to security breaches. I had done a consultant stint for a Hospital a few years ago, as their Solarwinds Engineer. I brought up some basic best…

As my fellow Thwackers have already mentioned, DoD is heavily invested in ACAS and HBSS. They have also invested into Splunk which is another issue to discuss at a later time. We have specialized teams to handle these applications and systems, but at the end of the day we have to rely on the different DoD Cyber Commands to…

My experience with variation is it generally leads to more downtime, longer time to repair, and management is a nightmare.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

My Server folks have their own separate Solarwinds Server and do not let me put them in my Solarwinds Server. Lets just say the Game of Thrones Kingdoms are alive and well and Layer 8/9 has many firewall issues.

I have made a career out of developing network diagrams and documenting networks. As a military dependent we move around A LOT. Contracting for me is a way of life. A contract may last 6 months or 2.5 years. I can usually count on at least a year where ever I end up. One thing is for sure, out of the 15 jobs I have had…

I liked this write up, but trying to convince our server team is another challenge. They believe SCOM is the only package out there that can provide this information. I would like to get this graphic in a nice glossy fold out if possible.

I would like to add to Embrace network modernization. Standardization should also be heavily mentioned. The ability of the support professionals to identify the resources in the organization without having to refer to charts, spreadsheets, or High-Level Techs will help make the modernization and communication succeed.
