Well said, I have been saying these same ideas for awhile around the Enterprise. The ability to get people to open their mind enough to listen is usually the hardest part not the technology. Conversation is good - Silence is bad.

What type of search function are you looking for that is outside of the "Search for Nodes" window that can be included in any one of your views. Customize Page > "Add" sign > scroll for "Search for Nodes" > click "Finish"

Standardization and documentation promote quicker response and recovery times. A full set of documentation may not be possible but that is were NPM, NCM, and Network Atlas come into play.
