Check to make sure you have authorization to connect. Such as ACL, group policy, and such.

Can you please provide more detail on what you are connecting to, where you are connecting from, and what any AAA services being used?

Well, I have recently done this with 5 different organizations using Solarwinds around the globe. I was able to consolidate all into a single instance. The key was to standardize my custom properties across each one of them then migrate to the new CORE ORION Server and transition others to Additional Pollers. With your…

I have to agree with rschroeder.

I would like a way to find various errors as they appear from my solarwinds server. Also, some of the posts are vary dated.

Can you supply a screen shot of what you are talking about for those new to Orion?

I have heard mixed reviews from folks on/offline upgrading over the past few months. My upgrade schedule may be delayed a few months, but I am excited about where things are going with Solarwinds and in the next few releases they will get ironed out. I also look at this time as an excellent resource in learning more about…

If you are looking to do a Network Audit the Solarwinds Network Configuration Manager will do the job for you. You will be able to download configurations and write rules to evaluate them against your criteria.

Make sure the services on your solarwinds server and DB server (if separate) are started. If so, you may need to restart both sides. I had the same issue once and fixed for me.
-
I will take a standby spot.

So far you have not been able to do a device download yet? Correct? You also want to do a show run and show version commands? Correct? You can view the config once you download. You will need to configure a report to do a show version command. Is there something specific you are looking for from the show version command?

Excellent! Can you provide information on the fix action in the event another Thwack Member has the same issue. Thanks,

RFackrell, Couple different ways to handle this one. I like to use the Real Name of the device in the Caption or Node Name, but this can always be changed or modified to suite your needs. This would also me more manual labor. I use Custom Properties to identify my servers function. C1_DeviceType = Server, Layer 2 Switch,…

Ok, basically when the node goes down, NPM should trigger an alert. There can be various ways the alert is triggered and notification sent. Is the customer waiting for an email or is the delay being noticed on the alerts section in NPM. Can you supply a screen shot?

That does sound a bit odd. Given that this is a multi-continent/multi-timezone instance I would be interested in knowing what type of Network Time Protocol time zone you would be using and if all your devices are using the same. Also, I am wondering on how prevalent this issue is. Is it just a couple devices, 25 or so…
