Sometime my OCD gets the better of me..... Solarwinds Tracking Sheet.xlsx
-
Ok folks, here is one for you. I like rschroeder idea and case study. I have engineers all over the planet. 5 people / 50 nodes in Asia, 5 people /100 nodes in Hawaii, 15 people / 450 nodes in East Coast, and 5 people / 125 nodes in Europe. I wanted to ask about additional webservers for each location.
-
rschroeder and ecklerwr1, I am trying to calculate the bandwidth saving of having stacked pollers opposed to deployed pollers. Can you describe/define a little better. I am sitting on the fence about a solution for a global architecture and trying to come up with some solid pros and cons for each.
-
Anyone have some diagrams to depict what they have done. This is a really good conversation and would like to get some artwork on it.
-
rspotswood, This is kind of tricky I know. The Admin Guide does give information about what the server requirements should be, but unfortunately there is no "Magic" Build for a single Orion Server. I have worked in several environments over the years and given what you have provided us it sounds like that standard build…

Please check regularly for DISA STIG updates by navigating to Configs Tab > Compliance > Manage Reports > Shared on Thwack. Please post any comments, questions, or requests to the following Thread. DISA STIG resources for Orion NCM

@shale@humana.com, were you able to resolve this issue? if so, could you mark it as answered when you get a chance. This is a good question for those new to Network Atlas and would like to show the "Correct" results.
-
Tried this one. I am getting an error with the code on line (SELECT TOP 1 I am trying to use it as a window on my Web Console.
-
The NCM compliance feature is geared to scanning configurations downloaded into NCM.
-
Any resolution to your issue here?
-
Can you explain a little more what you are looking for?
-
Have you verified that SNMP is polling correctly? Also, verify the OID you are using. I am not super familiar with the Proliant line.
-
Also, make sure you go to Config tab > Compliance > "Manage Reports" and click "Update All" button.
-
You do have configurations downloaded, right.
-
You will need to download a configuration from one of your devices first.
-
You will not be able to import directly from DISA as they use a version of xml, xccdf, etc. to develop and publish the STIGs. You will need to download the appropriate guides from Thwack and import. Then you will need to review each finding to ensure it lines up with your organizational requirements. These might help you…

The STIGs that come with the NCM product have not been updated in some time. The newest ones are found on Thwack. I am working with SolarWinds to get them updated with the product release. Once you have downloaded the STIGs from Thwack, you will need to manage the updates from there. This only takes a couple minutes as you…

Just installed NPM 11.0. I did not have any issues with the install. Took about 30 minutes.
-
Yes, I had an issue downloaded a zip file, so I went through the Web Console. My Dashboards > All Settings > Web Console Settings > Download Installer Now button (Upper Right). Then moved that 6mb file to where I needed. 1. Turn off UAC Slider on target server and Core 2. Run as Administrator 3. Give you options for HA,…
-
Yes, I built a new server and deployed through the web console for my additional poller and webserver. Also the HA items are in there as well.

john.b, This may be a shot in the dark, but I recently had an issue with one of my ASR1002 Routers. Would not answer any of the snmp configurations previously back to my Orion Server. I ended up doing this to get it to respond. 1. Select Node; Edit Properties 2. Set the SNMP credentials 3. Define a specific Device…

I do not have any FQM version switches. But curious about your strings. Did you try less than 12 characters and only Letters and Numbers, with no specials.
-
aLTeReGo, Do you have more information on this download? Not sure what I can do with this download or where to put it? What about Additional Webservers?
-
You are correct. You do not need SNMP v3 to make it work. Get v2c working then test with v3.
-
Feel free to send my your snmp configuration. Solarwinds@courtesyit.com
-
Keep in mind [GroupName]VIEW is one word.
-
Consider moving to SNMPv3. snmp-server user [UserName] [GroupName] v3 auth sha [Keystring] priv aes 128 [AnotherKeyString] access SNMP-Access ! snmp-server group [GroupName] v3 auth access SNMP-Access snmp-server group [GroupName] v3 priv read [GroupName]VIEW access SNMP-Access snmp-server view [GroupName]VIEW internet…

Do we know if this is still an issue? I am also trying to use CAC Authentication and having very similar issues. sean.martinez?

Sounds good to me. CourtesyIT is open for business and consulting packages are available.
