If you are using the newest version of NCM you would be able to download some of the Configuration Templates via the Shared on Thwack section. Whether you use PCI or DISA STIGs, the Configuration Templates should be able to work for both. The DISA STIGs are a little more precise in the configuration but if there are…

I know, Right! Me too. Thinking about putting it at the bottom of every post. Thanks, CourtesyIT How to do various customizations with your Solarwinds

I think you spent to much money on memory and not enough on an actual computer, or... am I missing something?

devin.dao what is that large area behind your desk. I tried to google several things and the internet says it is a "Window" or "Wind'er". I always heard about them but never seen one in an IT office before.

I like having my Cisco/Juniper/Palo Alto/and Fortinet Books at my desk too. When something breaks that prevents google and youtube then knowing where to find the answer in the books is very helpful.

guess you do not plan on staying too long. At least we do not have to find a box for your stuff.

So is this what we can expect from this report?
-
evilgoat, It looks like the rule is finding what you are looking for. Can you help me understand what it is you expect to see after this rule is in the 'not violated' state?

m0be as SW Developers move away from individual .exe files to the Web console some functionality will need to be recreated. I know there may be some work involved but it appears to be the nature of the beast. Look at this way, at least you can get in there and do some house cleaning. I find when I do any type of migration…

prayankc this can be controlled by using ACS command settings, but not sure if you are running any type of AAA server for them.

Looking into this right now, but with the lack of a device template in NCM and the current OS as a *nix, I have not come up with a workaround yet.

Ok, I have gotten the report to work now. I had to remove the ::: AND Nodes.NodeID = '${NodeID}' :::: from the report. I tried running it on lines 16-19 but no luck. 01SELECT * from ( 02SELECT 03StartTime.EventTime AS Down_Event_time, 04(SELECT TOP 1 05EventTime 06FROM Events AS Endtime 07WHERE EndTime.EventTime >=…

Ok, Go to Configs Tab > Config Change Templates. Select one of the reports there and look at the code. Some of them have actual variables you can use. I use this section to configure my Cisco Devices primarily. Once you have found a template to use modify the secion below the Configure Terminal line entry for the Cisco…

clashroma Navigate to config tab > configuration management > select a device. Move up just a bit and click download. You may also need to configure credentials on your devices. Tom, Thank you for the feedback. My interpretation of the rule is that the Network Administrator is to keep snmp traps on the system for 30 days and back them off on to disk which should be held in a secure storage for 1 year. I was unable to develop a rule to check for this so manual verification was required. I have…

So you are running everything on the same server?
-
Jmiddleton, this release should be good and any subsequent release should not be difficult to install or patch. Just keep the software updated and you should be fine.

I am at #7 now but need to make sure they are all in DNS and reachable.

You don’t need to invoke the Configuration Wizard per se, it will naturally invoke itself just to make sure that everything is kosher on the DB level anyways. The CW should launch automatically on the tail end of each Additional Poller install so just let it launch and sync itself with the rest of the engineIDs and that…

ACDII Also, keep in mind that Cisco not only uses a single space, but may use multiple spaces or tabs between keywords. Depending on your IOS,NXOS,XE-OS. I find it best to correct the issue then cut and paste from the Cisco CLI into the audit criteria. One more thing. Logging (IP Address) or logging host (IP Address) The…

Yeah, I had looked at that as well but there was not HIPS on the servers. I have tech support looking at the Diagnostic file. Thanks,
