  • Ok, so I'll post it here rather than the content sharing zone as I still need to validate the results are accurate first. So here it is in all it's glory It's based on a custom property that I have assisgned to the interfaces I want to be included in the report, the custom property is called 'brUplink256'. The scope of the…
  • Cheers for the Reply Denny. I neglected to mention that although I wouldn't have deemed NCM an enterprise tool 3 years ago I would now, it has come a long way since then and has made some major strides in the right direction. There is still more to do but it has become an invaluable and reliable tool for us. I look forward…
  • No bother, it's a bit disappointing that it's not included. Looks like a feature requet to me
  • Thanks Francois, just going back to th iflastchange mib and the sysuptime counter rollover. It should be possible to get around the limitations of the sysuptime 32bit counter by using the SnmpEnginetime 64bit counter. I will submit this as a feature request with more detail. Thanks again
  • I got the import job up and running, I'm lucky in the sense that both node databases are almost a mirror image of each other so I didn't have to filter that much. I have also sync all of the relative Custom Properties on both of the systems so that when a user adds a node to Oion they will add the Custom properties during…
  • Ok no problem
  • I don't have access to the devices apart from a monitoring perspective. This isn't specific to one device. All the WAE boxes show indetical behaviour since I upgraded, looks like an OID might have changed. I'm working on getting access to the devices to get a different perspective of the memory stats Ciaran
  • Hi We have a test version of Cirrus but are buying the full version soon. We are doing some very important testing with our ASA firewalls. We have been able to download the configs but are unable to to upload the configs back to the box due to a wrong command being entered should be "pager 0". I have downloaded the command…
  • Hey, Sorry I haven't found a way to remove the logo at the base of the report. I have searched for a script or something that instructs the page to place the logo at both top and bottom but I am yet to find the source. Sorry I can't be more help, if you find it yourself please post it up here as I would be very interested.…
  • The concern is the auto-authentication for AD users when accessing the webconsole. We would have about 20 - 30 users all of which would have the priviledges to make changes to the network through the NCM webconsole. That number of people will expand if the site went into use. All it takes is one person to walk away from…
  • Yeah I was reading through it. I will probably find myself in a situation where I'll have to start implementing something like that. My row count is on 2 million at the moment but our reports are expanding rapidly. How many rules would your typical policy report have? The reason I ask is I've had to Switch off the Polling…
  • mavturner is absolutely correct. Like I mentioned I'm only using this for 12 sites out of a possible 100+ as this method really doesn't facilitate scalability I wouldn't dream of going beyond this amount. But for a small number of groups it does work pretty well for us and has been for some time now. If network topology…
  • Hi Questionario, Hope you had a nice weekend. Yes I was referring to the 'nodes with problems' but also to the events in the 'Event Viewer'. Basically I don't want to see any trace of Polycom nodes going down in the Orion web GUI until it has been down for more than 2 hours. That includes not seeing a ‘Down’ or…
  • Hi Folks, just an update. In the end I didn't run the SQL statement but thank you for posting it all the same. Quite sinply I applied the SP1 V10 patch to our installation after reading about a possible table maintenance adjustments. Since then the table is now at expected levels. The deadlock issue is still persistant but…
  • Hey thanks Yann I'll keep that info for good use in the future. I ended up just getting the FW guys to upgrade the OS on the firewalls which fixed everything but I'm sure I'll be experiencing this behaviour again on some other FW's. Thanks for replying, really appreciated Cheers
  • Polling Limits If you haven’t done so already you should do some basic inventory work, documenting the number of elements types per polling engine. Also know the polling intervals for those element types. Knowing these stats is an essential part of tuning, later in the document you can compare your stats against some known…
  • Jasper, I have opened a support ticket for this but have not yet made any progress. I will keep you updated with this as information becomes available Regards Ciaran
  • So I finally upgraded Cirrus to 5.1 and the web browser interface is still so very slow with no speed improvements. The new features added to the website are great but they take so long to use they are useless. On the Node list when you try to open a node's config file list it take nearly 2 minutes just to show the…
  • Thanks folks I'll take a look at that
  • I have another addition to the list of feature requests. When viewing an executed policy report, if after correcting a violation on a device and then downloading a copy of the new running config, at this point you should be able to refresh the device within the report rather than having to execute the entire report again.…
  • I'm not trying to smart or anything I am genuinely curious. You say it's on the "road map". Does this mean in the near future or is it a plan for something Orion would eventually have. The reason I raised this post was because of the reply I got when I submitted a ticket told me to raise the topic here to find a work…
  • Hi Yann I'll try the Reg ex you gave me in the morning as I'm after getting caught up in something else. Ip finger and a number of other commands are giving me trouble. the reason being most device types do not show the no version of the command in their running config. However some do show no ip finger in their running…
  • Not to worry thanks for your replies Ciag
  • Hi Yann, yeah I am aware of that OID but it the way it displays the information isn't really manageable. Even if we were to tie it into a custom alert so to filter the results, it still returns info about interfaces we do not need to monitor. Hence why I said in the last msg that it's not really possible using the…
  • Hi Yann, I had a look at the weblog and I didn't see much that would indicate an issue. What I done was @ 08:33 I pressed the 'update now' button under the 'compliance tab' and @ 08:34 I tried to run some of my own reports. I was hoping that by using this method I would be able to see 2 distinct errors or something over…
  • Poller Tuning Community Tips NOTE: Information below only applies the now old Netperfmon polling engine. It does not count for the new Collector services. The Netperfmon service will be soon phased out which will make most of the information herein redundant when that happens. Intro This is an adaptation of a document I…
  • This is a great thread. We've been a customer of Solarwinds for just over 4 years now and have experienced many of the gripes that have been mentioned in this thread. I'm glad we have the ability to discuss these kinds of topics openly on the forum, which I feel is testament to Solarwinds ongoing customer focus effort.…
  • Ok so that report got me moving in the right direction and i was able to tailor it to suit my needs. I have uploaded the finished result to the content exchange here: Total Outage Duration - Per Node - Last 30 Days.txt thanks again
  • Hi Chris, I'm seeing a similar issue while trying to upload a long banner. Even when using Command script variables such as ${CR} and ${CRLF} I still can't get more than a few words per line. I ran Wire shark to see if I could spot anything with the transmission of the data but nothing obvious popped up. The only thing I…

  • Thanks again for your replies. I just have one final question. When you schedule the job how do you input the selection criteria so the scheduled job will know to only add the devices with the custom property of 'True' I have Custom properties already set up on my devices and I should be able to leverage these existing…
