You may want to go create a new idea http://thwack.solarwinds.com/community/network-management_tht/orion-network-performance-monitor/orion-network-performance-monitor-feature-requests This is a really old post, and creating an idea is your best bet to get people to vote on it. It is a good idea! Chrystal Taylor…

All you should need to do is Enable Browser Integration in your account settings.

or if you start a new report: different things show up based on the type of report, so if you do a "current status of nodes, volumes, etc." report it becomes available
-
Thanks, Nicole. It has been bugging me. It has been a point of contention with my client this week as he feels it should be broken down into something that makes more sense to them. Thanks again! Chrystal Taylor http://www.loop1systems.com

You can add ten per resource, so if you need to add more links you will need to add more resources.

Have you tried running the config wizard for the job engine plugins? We saw similar issues, and running the config wizard for all four of the job engine plugins on the primary and each additional sever corrected our issues. It doesn't interrupt polling, so I thought it was worth mentioning. Hope it helps with your problems.

You could just unmanage the devices during the window. This will prevent any alerts from being sent out, and you won't have to remember to enable the alerts again. You can do this in Node Management under Settings. Hope this helps. Chrystal Taylor http://www.loop1systems.com

you can always create a new view with just one column for the map. Whatever other resources you want you can add below that. Then you can use that new view as the home page by switching it in manage>accounts. Thanks, Chrystal Taylor http://www.loop1systems.com

NPM 10.6 is coming with charts/graphs for reports. Maybe when it GA's you should check it out. Thanks, Chrystal Taylor http://www.loop1systems.com

For reference as well, the connector to read the logs for syslog nodes needs to be added at the appliance level and not the node level. If you set it up with the default configurations and are still not seeing your data pulled in to the SEM console, you likely need to change the log store the connector is reading. You can…

Thanks, Nicole! That would be really helpful. Like, I said we are basically trying to set up filters for Warning and Critical events on Windows nodes. Thanks, Chrystal Taylor http://loop1systems.com

I have not found a way to do this either. It looks like there is no way to send a filter or saved nDepth search to a rule. There is a feature request out there for sending the filter to a rule, so we should definitely add on to that with sending nDepth searches for rule creation. Hi! You should be able to pop the html in there. I borrowed a SQL example from our friend @"cscoengineer" that was written for SQL and converted to SWQL. You are definitely going to need to play around with the logic of your query to get the different reports pulled in (maybe a custom property with the report urls?) but it…

Excellent @"bobmarley"! Love it! I went back in and added screenshots, but yours definitely build on the idea!
-
@"dgsmith80" Thanks for the feedback! I will definitely be doing that.

This is a fairly common issue and can happen as well when interfaces are re-indexed on the device. You should be able to delete them on your Manage Nodes page. You can either click the arrow to expand out based on the node or you can switch to the interfaces view to simply list the interfaces. The filters on the left will…

Slick! Great work as always, Marc!

I don't use basic alerts at all. I like to stick with the advanced alerts mainly because there is so much more functionality there, and as far as I can tell it does everything that the basic alerts manager can do. I may be wrong, but I have not thus far seen a use for it that cannot be done in advanced alert manager.

Thanks for the powershell! We may be trying that out. I created a feature request for them to fix this: http://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/3789 Thanks, ChrystalT

Can you be more specific? This is too vague for anyone to really help except as Danielle did to point you at the documentation.... Thanks, Chrystal Taylor http://www.loop1systems.com

If it's a negative two, we see that all the time. Seems like it is just a placeholder value. I think it may happen when it times out.

As far as I am aware, you still cannot add custom tabs. You can create custom menu bars, but not new tabs. Sorry.
-
Have you tried the multiple object charts? Outside of that, on a summary view, you are looking at reports. Thanks, Chrystal Taylor http://www.loop1systems.com

Go to Settings> SAM Settings > Credentials Library. You should be able to delete any saved credentials that are wrong or no longer valid. Thanks, Chrystal Taylor http://www.loop1systems.com

Are you referring to volumes or the hardware health sensors? For volumes, you can delete them from the database. You would want to delete the volumes in question directly from the volumes table. I just ran into this issue with one of my clients. The drives were renamed and then orphaned by SolarWinds. You could not see…

You could create a view with the graphs and the report on it, and then email the view through the Report Scheduler utility.

Do you keep your NCM reports in the same reports folder as your NPM reports? If they don't go to the same place, then you will have to specify the folder in the account management settings. The last option in account management settings is for reports, and you would have to have the NCM reports sent to that same folder in…

They separated the topology from the discovery, so it can be imported at will rather than automatically. Topology: Layer 3 is going to be the topology at a layer 3 level of course and layer 2 is for layer 2 topology on your devices. If you want the topology data, and select those "interfaces" it will be polled with the…

When you are doing the import following the discovery, it will show a list of the interfaces by type with checkboxes. You can deselect whichever ones you do not want to import. Hope this helps.

In your trigger actions, create a secondary action (to email or page or whatever) and on the Alert Escalation tab: You can choose to delay the execution of this action for say 30 minutes, and check the box not to execute if it has been acknowledged. So, if someone doesn't take care of the issue within 30 minutes the…
