Have you tried running the config wizard for just the job engine plugins? We were having issues with a client's discovery, and that fixed it. Hope this helps you.

Nested maps can be used to be as detailed as you want. I have seen people use pictures of their server rooms and place the nodes on top! So, it is not necessarily meant only for large cities. The limitation is only your own creativity. So, for you, I would build out a larger map to show the whole map, and then smaller…

It will discover any new interfaces for you if the nodes are already in NPM. Then you can choose which ones to import. You can scan by specific IPs, subnet or supernet, etc. It scans the same one every so often (whatever you set it for) and will let you know when there are new interfaces/volumes.
-
You can now search interfaces using MAC address. It did not work for me with the "." in between, though. I had to remove all punctuation marks to get it to search. Hope this helps. Thanks, Chrystal Taylor http://www.loop1systems.com

glad that I could help. :)

You could also look into using custom properties for this. Creating a custom property would prevent multiple groups where you don't want to see them.

It looks like from your screenshot that you are not monitoring via snmp on those devices. You need to add your snmp credentials and do a discovery to find the interfaces and volumes you want to monitor before you import them. Once they are monitored via snmp you should be have the ability to expand out your nodes as…

I created an idea to be commented/voted on. I recently ran into this as well, where I had to manually change a large number of alerts to a new SMTP server. http://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/1286 Thanks, Chrystal Taylor http://www.loop1systems.com

I would like to point out that SolarWinds put together that resource, and I merely provided the link. Props to Erica for her input though. Thanks, Chrystal Taylor http://www.loop1systems.com

A lot of documentation and videos for NPM can be found here: http://www.solarwinds.com/network-performance-monitor/resources.aspx#Videos

Ah, I understand. Well it looks like you are correct then, and your best bet would be to select IP Address ranges. Also make a note that you want to have this logged as a feature request. It would be very helpful.

I got a head start since I started the team. Every bit helps.

well if you like, you can just make your columns wider, and that will allow you to incorporate some large maps perhaps or let your details expand enough for some things to be on one line instead of 2 or 3. Just some ideas, but there are ways for you to take up your space. You can even use weather maps that constantly…

Do you have an SSL binding for port 443 in the IIS settings set?

Have you opened a support ticket with SolarWinds? If not, then I would recommend doing so. Thanks, Chrystal Taylor http://www.loop1systems.com

I have not personally worked in a system with the older versions of the SolarWinds software, and so have not ever been able to use that functionality. However, I do see the value in having that. It would be really nice. Hopefully, someone from SolarWinds will be able to comment on this.

Remembered something else if you want that to work. You also have to change a SolarWinds file for the Node Details resource to get it pointed at the correct registry for ssh. Thanks, Chrystal Taylor http://www.loop1systems.com

Do you have any restrictions on the account you are using? Also, make sure that your account has the correct reports folder assigned under Manage Accounts. Thanks, Chrystal Taylor http://www.loop1systems.com

Why not just take a screen capture of it with a snipping tool and then use that as your background image if you want it to be static?

curtisi What is to stop that from happening? I have definitely seen it at or above 90% on the logs datastore. Thanks, Chrystal Taylor

LEM's internal logs/data partition. Thanks, Chrystal Taylor

They have made improvements to custom properties as well as other features in the latest release, 10.4: Thanks, Chrystal Taylor http://www.loop1systems.com

So your alert action is sending a trap to another application? If you want to see if the action is firing, and you are a little database savvy, you can check the AlertLog table in the database. You should see a message column that will tell you if an action failed or succeeded. You may have to join it back to the…

We have run across a related issue with the charts since we upgraded to 10.5. We can no longer remove things from the chart with the check boxes in order to see things more clearly. So, for instance, on a min/max/avg chart for interface traffic there are at least 6 different lines. It is easier to differentiate over the…

Quick and Dirty it would look something like this: Select a.AlertDefID, a.AlertName, a.AlertDescription, a.Enabled, a.TriggerQuery, a.ResetQuery, a.SuppressionQuery, b.ActionType, b.Title, b.Target, b.Parameter1, b.Parameter2, b.Parameter3, b.Parameter4 from AlertDefinitions as a Inner Join ActionDefinitions as b ON…

The 5.6 RC doesn't include any connector upgrades, at least not this first RC. We have gone through the upgrade already, and I am so far very pleased with the changes. There might be an update around the GA or shortly thereafter. Thanks, Chrystal Taylor http://www.loop1systems.com

You can also do this by creating a custom property for site, then populating the fields of course. Create a report using the Current status of Nodes, Volumes, etc. report type. Your fields would be Site sort:ascending, Status or Status Icon if you are comfortable with that (or both), and Status sort:ascending…

I just ran into the same issues. Unable to connect to manager. I got it with the auto-populated guest user with both IE9 and Chrome. Thanks, Chrystal Taylor http://www.loop1systems.com
