We’re aware the linked accounts option isn’t working at the moment and our dev team is hard at work on fixing this. Rest assured, we’ll put out a mass notice to the community when this is working again so everyone can enjoy a seamless online experience.

@"gverharst" I have moved your query to the SolarWinds Service Desk forum. Please ask product specific questions in the product forums to ensure the right people can assist you.

When HCO was first launched last year, I did a comparison piece you may find helpful: https://orangematter.solarwinds.com/2022/05/19/orion-platform-hybrid-cloud-observability/. Here's the most relevant bit to your question: Now, there have been updates since then including the launch of security in HCO. You can find…

Grabbed the definition from the documentation for clarity: I have seen this used to make reporting simpler in the past, but there may be other use cases. Effectively, you are recategorizing an event. Hope this helps.

You will still need to manage them as nodes after the agents reconnect, if you didn't migrate your database
-
If you're not going to directly upgrade or do a migration, you will need to redeploy/reconnect them to the new server address. You should be able to simply follow this step (screenshotted from the migration guide…

Thank you for putting this together and sharing with the community!

SEM cannot be configured for users to be limited by specific devices either for viewing or adding. You can see the available account types and their associated permissions here: https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/success_center/sem/content/admin_guide/2020_2/sem-view-system-privileges.htm There is an open feature…

George, You might be looking to set up a correlation. https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/success_center/sem/content/admin_guide/10-sem_rules/sem-rules.htm https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ya13whuO7Lg You can set it up so that if it's the same event (ie fields match) you only trigger one email every XX time. Hope this…

The website may be listing your AD groups and not listing the individual accounts that have logged in separately. If you do a comparison, I would bet that you will find that the "extras" listed in the database are tied to the group accounts. There is a field (I think called GroupID) in the database which would show the AD…

Additionally, ensure you are using the product upgrade advisor and inputting your current server and Orion module versions in in case any additional steps are needed. This is available to you in your customer portal. This will help ensure a smooth transition.

If you are using that service account for your database as well, you will need to run Configuration Wizard to update the credential there. If you used it in any other modules like SAM, check your SAM settings>Credentials Library. If you use WPM and used it in any recordings, that's a good place to ensure you update as…

We encourage everyone to continue to read the information as we learn new things as the investigations are ongoing. We also encourage you to join the webinar tomorrow with SolarWinds CEO, Sudhakar Ramakrishna, and Alex Stamos. Some links to the latest information including tomorrow's webinar are listed below. The KPI widget requires individual numerical values for each one shown. It will take a custom SWQL query like this: SELECT AVG(Availability) AS AVGAvailability, NodeID FROM Orion.ResponseTime Where DateTime >= AddHour(-24, GETDATE()) AND NodeID IN (SELECT NodeID from Orion.NodesCustomProperties WHERE Purpose = 'Web…

Orion is the core behind all of the modules (like NPM & SAM). The hotfix for the vulnerability is on Orion core, therefore the hotfix numbers would not update for NPM or SAM. You should see an updated Orion HF number at the bottom of any Orion web page once upgraded. Check the security advisory page for updates as well as…

Are you trying to upgrade to 2019.4 HF6 as per the Security Advisory? Please ensure you are following the steps there. If you are still getting that error after following the recommended steps, I recommend opening a support case and updating this post.

@"bc0000" This would certainly be a standard migration. SolarWinds has a couple of migration guides which include steps for migrating the database as well. https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/Success_Center/orionplatform/Content/Orion_Platform_Migration_Guide.htm The things you mentioned are housed in the database and…

There are a lot of unknowns to your question - namely how large your installation is or is likely to get, what modules you are installing aside from the aforementioned NPM, why you don't want to or can't install the database server on a separate server, etc. The short answer is it's not recommended due to the nature of the…

**edited only to correct a typo** Because of recent ongoing events, I think it is important to clarify - especially on the "Turn off anti-virus" instruction. It is important to note it is ONLY DURING INSTALLATION. As soon as the install is completed, you should turn AV back on. Do a scan and have it double check everything…

Please remember that there is the option to set custom properties as mandatory to prevent the need for this type of alert. I created a report which I showcased in SolarWinds Lab in order to check for this issue as well. I would suggest starting with a report so you don't get completely swamped with alerts. Similar logic to…

Glad you were able to get it working to suit your needs. Happy to help. Thanks, Chrystal Taylor http://www.loop1systems.com

This is what the trigger looks like: The reset is set to "Reset when the conditions are no longer true" Hope this helps. Chrystal Taylor http://www.loop1systems.com

Yes. Was wondering if this is a bug... there is great usability, and from what i have been able to see from thwack, great desire for this ability at least to change it from snmp or wmi polling back to icmp only polling, so that no historical data is lost. Feature request?
-
I created an idea for this, if you would like to comment/vote. I recently had to manually change a large number of alerts due to this as well. http://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/1286 Thanks, Chrystal Taylor http://www.loop1systems.com

We resolved this by running a couple SQL queries to get lists of the nodes with the issue, and then unmanaging for 5 minutes. When they remanaged themselves, they all showed up with no child status of down. Yay. Not an ideal solution, but it did work.
-
Yes you are on the right track. So in the alert escalation tab on the secondary alert action you would check the box for do not fire if alert has been acknowledged, and you would would check execute after xx minutes. Happy to help. Thanks, Chrystal Taylor http://www.loop1systems.com

Sure. This is the whole purpose of the Report Scheduler utility. You schedule it once, daily, weekly, monthly, etc. at a certain time to email whichever view/dashboard that you want. It pulls a snapshot of the page at that time and emails it. Your view/dashboard would need to be configured to show the charts on it, and you…

Well I can tell you that they are running 10.2.1 so it has not been fixed. I would like to know what script cleaned it up. I discovered (through an idea I got reading through this post ;)) that if you list resources on a node in question and add an interface that is up then go back in and remove it, it will stop showing…

I attached what it looks like in the new 10.2 RC because that is what I currently have access to. In the previous versions, it just had a checkbox that said ping only or ICMP only, and if it was unchecked then your SNMP information there.
