  • I have asked for this feature for awhile now. Like Cirrus you should be able to define custom tools to use. You should be able to remove those icons, or add icons that can be used for SSH, etc. BB
  • SNMP is standard UDP161 (Read) and UDP162 (Trap). You rules should be : permit udp <your orion server> <your devices being polled> eq snmp That works for a stateful firewall....ACLs are a different story if you use a router. You need to create the reserse permit. BB
  • Refresh works but want to know why this is happening in the 1st place. When our command center sees it they kind of freak out....so if its a setting we need to tweak so this doesn't happen we can do that. Just want to know what's the issue here.
  • Is it too much to start actually putting the version name on the package line? Instead of Orion NPM Polling Engine v9 SLX why can't you have Orion NPM Polling Engine v9 SLX SP2 or Orion NPM Polling Engine v9.1 SLX? BB
  • We have 4 Orion servers. 1 runs the old VoIP Monitor because it's running V9.1. The Other Orion server, showing down, is IPSLA Manager on a 9.5.1 server. These were both showing "up" last week.
  • So how does this really work then? Something has to tell the router when to perform a test. It seems to me the VoIP Monitor is doing that. BB
  • Here is what I have : Poller - VoIP Monitor and Orion Module engine services are installed and running SLX Main Server - Orion Module enigne service is installed and running; VoIP module installed but service is not running. BB
  • I find this a good tool for us as well. Whenever we get a call on branch office slowness I check this first to see how our IPSLA tests look. I can easily tell if the carrier has added latency or we are seeing drops. BB
  •  Thanks Bryan for pointing this out- I tracked down case 17225 and it was closed because the tech was under the impression you had resolved the issue via a call-? anyway 17804 will be looked at by DEV- thanks WHAT??? Closed? No one called me about it, nor did anyone email me about it. Please re-open that ticket for me.…
  • I think VoIP is a good start but I too would like to see this become IP SLA Monitor. The VoIP stuff is great and we use it but it would also be nice to configure this to other things besides voice stuff. For one I'd like to use IP SLA to issue pings between routers. Right now all we have is response time from the Orion…
  • Can someone illustrate how exactly to do this? I would like to create a single Min/Max/Avg percent utilization graph of my ISP links. And perhaps one that can add up the total capacity of those links and chart one line combining the 5 links together. (IE each is an OC-12 so recv/xmit would be 622 X 5) This would give me a…
  • Somewhat related....I request a feature to define a seperate job account instead of relying on people to remember to go into Cirrus and change the password when your domain password was chnaged. BB
  • Don't lose sleep on this. I have NetFlow for Orion and everything I see is that Orion can't handle the amount of NetFlow traffic in larger environments. Users see large increases in DB size which leads to turning down the retention of the data, etc. We had all sorts of issues with space and functionality. We have moved…
  •  Whoa...that was an old post...lol. You guys were not there in 2005!! I skipped Networkers this year. I wasn't too happy they moved from Las Vegas. It's bad enough they cram 7000+ people into 1 convention but I wasn't to keen on going to CA. I live in Maryland and wish they'd go back to 2 conventions and split them up on…
  • No offense but this seems convoluted. Why can't these maps be standardized so that any changes on the Orion server is automatically updated on EOC? Can't Atlas go out to all the Orion servers when you launch it and pull a list of maps on each server? So you make you EOC map update and you can drag and drop maps on EOC as…
  • Making an exception would be somewhat hard to code (not using NCM) and we could run a write mem job but if IPSLA is making a change I think it would be best that i t also write it to memory. BB
  • Option 4....and I really really they get this addressed. We've asked for this for a long time and should be a simple thing to do. I would include Excel as well. It's a nuisance to have to log into the server and run report writer, export the file, etc. BB
  • I'm glad I waited on this. Please keep us posted on a fix! BB
  • CiscoSecure 4.1(1) running on Windows servers. BB
  • We are about to rebuild our Orion NPM and EOC servers to Windows 2008 R2. Is there still the requirement that IIS run in 32-bit mode?
  • Bumping this again. We are not getting to the point where we will be monitoring alot of servers, most with multiple CPU and I have already been asked about how Orion handles multiple CPUs and how they are displayed in the graphs. BB
  • I see 9.1.0.399 on all of my servers. All the ESX servers are on 1 poller but for testing I added one of the ESX servers to a 2nd poller and I have the same issue. I forgot to mention that the poller that the ESX servers are on was upgraded to SP1 on 11/5. The SLX NPM server that runs the web site wasn't upgraded till…
  •  I want to do the exact same thing...we have 5.1. Why do u need to go to 5.5? TIA BB
  • With UnDP I have been unable to get anything to work. I get OID not supported. BB
  • Brandon...what do you think is the best way to fix this? UnDP for CPU? Or do you think you'll have this worked out with Cisco soon? I'll need to manage a bunch of Nexus 7000s in the next 2 weeks. BB
  • Would it satisfy the requirement for you if when viewing the job log you were automatically taken to the end (versus having to scroll down)? Or perhaps, a "go to most recent entry" button? Yes. Thx. BB
  • I'm in the same boat....services up but no data is collected. I'm even seeing that launching System Manager shows no devices. I have to stop all the services and restart them and it works again. If there is a beta dll or a fix I hope they get this out ASAP! I have seen 2 scenarios where this needs to be fixed. 1. The…
  • I am not running HTTPS, this is issue is seen on multiple servers all independant of each other. No load balancer in front of these servers.
