  • We do not see any "Solarwinds Trap Service" service on neither the poller or the main SLX web server. SNMP Trap Service is set to manual and not started because our pollers do not receive traps. We are trying to get the alert to send a snp trap to our main NMS server. We have 1 alert that works just fine but creating any…
  • Already did...# 49178. Their 1st suggestion was to restart my SQL server which I'm not doing because everything else works polling wise...just not these graphs.
  • Interesting...that's what I'm seeing. I have serial interfaces with Mbps of data on it but NTA does not show TCP data, it only shows UDP and ICMP. That's it. BB
  • I ran an uninstall and reinstall of 3.1 on my poller but that didn't help. This looks to be a real DB issue of some sort. I'm willing to just wipe the netflow database info and start from scratch if necessary. BB
  • Case #78617
  • I like the idea of being able to specify domains that you do not want to see to reduce the clutter. The renmae/sql should work but what happens when Orion does a rediscovery? Will it change the name back? BB
  • Hi, I'm a newbee. I have Solarwinds Engineers toolset and Cirrus. What is required to make Orion 8.1 work in a cisco environment? I am aware of Netflow, but have never had the need to implement it. Our company is basically to large campus's with about 700 employees. Any comments are appreciated,..thanks. All you need is…
  • I'm running 2.2 HF4 and I'd expect the utilization value match what Orion is seeing. So it should update (in my case) every 5 minutes with what Orion is polling. I just don't like not being able to show in separate graphs a traffic graph in and traffic graph out. BB
  • I love new features but what is totally driving me insane is Cirrus fails to download configs for no reason whatsoever. It's totally random in nature. Every morning when I look at my failure report a random device fails and when I go into Cirrus and check connectivity to the box everything is fine. Anyone else see this…
  • I get a similar error "Error Opening MainTaskDataReader A transport-level error has occurred when receiving results from the server. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - The specified network name is no longer available.) ". BB
  • We will potentially have different teams accessing Cirrus to look at inventory, etc for windows and Linux servers as well. Today it's just network devices so if I add servers and they need access then they can see everything. Furthermore we need a better way to give say "read-only" access so people can look at configs,…
  • I didn't want to start a new post but I have this issue now. Running NTA 3.6 and for the past week I have this issue. My CBQoS graphs populate with no problems. My "Last Received NetFlow" and "Last Received CBQOS" are up to the minute. I even have the SW toolset on the server. I stopped NTA, loaded the real-time netflow…
  • I see u updated ur post after I did mine. That fixed it. Thanks.
  • I believe they want 64 bit as the default. So have it check automatically and you can uncheck if needed. I agree and would like to see this since most new revs of code out there support the 64 bit counts.
  • We we see mostly is errors are physical layer items like NIC or switch port. Discards are either duplex mismatches or over utilized interfaces...especially on wan interfaces. We have turned the hold-queue on our Cisco router WAN interfaces to help with the discards. BB
  • Once you deselect the Start Tooleset Launchpad each time I log in it will remove the check from the box for "Run Toolset Launchpad when Windows Starts Up". I want the launchpad tool to start on windows startup, start minimized in the tray and I want to be able to right-click on it to navigate to what I need. I believe the…
  • So how many elements do you have on that remote poller? What's the latency between it and the DB server? What are your settings for polls, statistic collection, etc? Sorry for the questions....just seeing how different your set up is to mine. Thanks. BB
  • quote:Originally posted by Haley We appreciate your comments and feedback regarding the Cirrus Configuration Manager. We are currently evaluating the Find MAC/Find IP functionality. I do not have a specific date for improving the mapping capability; however, this is a top priority and is slated for an upcoming release.…
  • Thanks...that worked. One other issue is with Global Events Summary. I can't seem to use any filters to just show network device events. I tried a simple Node.Vendor = 'Cisco' and I get nothing when I know I have events for them. I want to filter out all non-network events like servers, etc. I do also, however, want to see…
  • Thanks....I'll go to SP5. I am running RC2...so I'll go to the GA build. Thanks.
  • Great...thanks for the info. BB
  • I upgraded last night....my 2 issues : 1. Everytime I click on Network Configuration Manager link on the Orion web site I get prompted for login. I select 'Windows Account' and click on remember settings. But everything I do this I get prompted. I just want to get passed thru after the 1st time. Any ideas? 2. I posted this…
  • I didn't see any install notes. Do we need to shut everything down? I have 5 servers (4 pollers, 1 slx web server). Or can we just install it? BB
  • That's not 100% it. The information provided by Mithrilhall is for 1 static image that you schedule to be downloaded. The animated map consists of several static images put into a loop. So I'm not sure how SW is doing this unless the map they are getting is 1 animated gif from thatr other site (Ok...just confirmed above).…
  • Haley....please add me. Thanks. BB
  • When I say bucket I mean each individual qos queue. We have about 5 of them including voice bearer, voice signaling, video and best effort. Each bucket as a unique DSCP value. We'd expect to see how much data is in each bucket, and most importantly is if there are any drops. BB
  • I add the SQL statement....do I need to restart the NetFlow services? Mostly we monitor WAN routers so they have 1 WAN interface and 2 LAN interfaces. In the router config I have Ip route-cache flow turned on all 3 interfaces so it should see the 2-way communication. I guess my question is in NTA do I have to check the LAN…
  • I'll have them look at it.....they did come back to say "Just thought of something -- I have read other documentation on performance -- the average disk queue is not an accurate measure of disk performance with SAN units. A better metric is average sec /read, avg sec / write, avg sec / transfer. " BB
  • We have Riverbeds too....I haven't look at backing them up yet. If you have success please let me know as well. Thanks. BB
  • These is not vendor dependent. I want to be able to assign any vendor to a device as needed. I just want to get rid of these icmp only devices in the unknown vendor group.
