Given how unmanageable custom MIB pollers are for collecting all the information I need from my WLCs, I haven't bothered to create the several hundred I would like. What we really need is support in the Orion Wireless Monitor for Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers to provide a useful GUI to summarize all the useful wireless…

I had the same issue but I forgot to make the transfer use TFTP and not Tenet/SSH. That fixed my issue. BB

I added the WLC to Orion but all it sees is it's 2 NICs. Has anyone created custom mibs for additional monitoring? BB
-
I don't see anywhere in WLC to set the snmp on these APs. So I'm assuming they are not supported. BB
-
This worked....I forgot to change it to use TFTP...once I did that it downloaded just fine. Thanks for the help! BB
-
No difference....still get that connectivity error message. I can telnet from that Cirrus server to the VPN and log in just fine manually. BB

Can anyone comment on my trace and what to do with my Cisco3030 to get it to work? BB

The latest update from support. My DB uses SAN to house the actual databases and support feels using the SAN is a bad idea. All indications from my server/SAN team says the drives are working fine and are actually faster than locally attached drives. Support continues to say something about the SAN drives being compacted…

I applied these setting yesterday afternoon. Things got a little worse because the original task did not change yet more tasks were spawned....adding to the memory usage. So I rebooted the server last night. As you can see in my graph the utilization has gone down a bit. It jumped a little today but has gone back down…

aLTeReGo...we have Riverbeds between our sites as well. What did you have to do to them to optimize this traffic to make it work better? Right now we have some really bad gaps for the remote pollers on the other end of a p2p OC3 connection with very low latency. You can post here or IM me if you like. Thanks! BB

Chris/SW....not to complicate this issue further but we have instances that any network event that would cause interruption between the poller and DB that the poller just doesn't recover automatically. We are running 9.5.1 and last night we had a network issue where communication between the poller and DB server was down…

IP SLA is definitely something we're thinking about. Thanks Denny. Not blowing smoke but I think this would be yet another great additon to the Orion suite. CiscoWorks IPM piece was very useful and we used it alot for monitoting. Thanks. BB

Brandon...I'm still having issues with this. I have 2 pollers that show guages (share the same db server but have sepearted DBs) but the cpu/memory trending graphs show no data for selected period. I have another pair of Orion servers that doen't show the CPU/Memory graphs at all. These 2 servers are on a different SQL…

Support had me do the following for the ddlhost.exe issue : One of the main causes of dllhost32.exe is due to Multiple users using the website together or orion but it is mainly casued By memroy leak I have seen multiple cases of this In IIS and not just with orion The good news is i do have a fix for you to get this…

Andy, Should I open a trouble ticket on the drop-down issue? and do you have an ETA on when these other items will be released? Thanks. BB
-
Yeah...I'm not getting the application drop-down in the endpoint filtered view. In the application filtered view I am. I am also monitoring all 65535 ports. If I expand the Filter by application option I get the box with the + Add next to it and a exclude selected applications check-box under it. I can add a port number,…

Can someone clarify this for me. We were about to order the Wireless add-on but after reading this I'm not sure it will work. We use Cisco AIR-LAP1242AG-A-K9 APs. Are these using LWAPP? I know we have the WLCs as well and CAS, NAC, etc. Before I put the money down on this add on will it work with these APs? Thanks. BB

I upgraded from 8.1 to 8.5. I learned that when running 8.1 I must use .net 2.0 for everything to function correctly, not only on your main orion box, but also on any additional pollers. I then upgraded from 8.1 to 8.5 and found that having .net 2.0 and .net 3.0 fouls everything up. Use only .net 3.0 and reboot before…

Got another one. I plan on upgrading to NTA 3.0 SP3 1st before I go to V9. I read in this thread that people had issues with transaction log filling up when running NTA 3.0 and V9. Is this still an issue? BB

One of the questions I was asked is if anyone had issues for their exisitng alerts and maps being lost in the upgrade? We have alot of basic and some advanced alerts and alot of maps we can't lose with the upgrade. And if we do have issues and need to fallback to 8.5.1 how best do we do that? I'll have a local copy of the…

I disagree. I have a menu bar option that has all nodes and it only takes 10 seconds to load once I click on it. When I have it on my main page it adds an additional 30 seconds to load time. If this is a relation to the # of devices I have I expect an additional 10 second load time if its on the page....which it is not.…

I'm going to take the leap tonight. I have 4 pollers and 1 SLX/Web server to upgrade. Any thoughts on order to upgrade? Wish me luck! BB

Brandon, Sorry it took long to get back to you. I'm on 10.1.2 SP1 and Nexus support 1/2 works. The radial gauges work but the trending of memory and cpu show no data selected. I had to revert back to my UnDP to get the graphs. Can this be tested again to see if I'm missing something? I checked the node details view and it…

This is now fixed. Issue was Windows policy blocking IE access. That was removed and the image can be retrieved.
-
IT still doesn't work....I get a big red box around the map that says "dynamic background failed to load". I opened a new ticket 149466.

Question: If we were to allow you to convert any view (minus banner, menu bar, etc.) into a PDF file and schedule that PDF file to be emailed via Report Schedule, would you feel you have graphs in reports? If not, what's missing? It would be a step in the right direction but still not what we want. I need to be able to…

Update....it looks to be a SSH issue. I had this issue on a firewall and as soon as I changed it to use telnet it worked fine, no problems. We use SSH for everything so this is why I see random issues with this. Support has this information so we'll see where it goes from there. BB

I'm not starting to play with Traffic Builder now. I have 2 things I'm trying to run but I'm not seeing how to do it. I want to search on an endpoint. So I select Endpoint filtered view. Under Filter by Application I do not have a drop-down list. Yet if I try building by application I see a drop-down list. This too only…

That was it Tim. By default it is set for Node details. Any way to make the default going forward "By Device Type"? I think it's been "Node Details" for a very long time. We have alot of accounts and I would have to go in and manually update each one. Is there a way to update all the user accounts to use "By Device Type"?…

Brandon....any idea when this will be ready for Orion? EOC works with AD now. Thanks. BB
