  • I'm going to leave this in case anyone else runs into this, but I just had to delete any cookies having to do with our site.
  • From the way I read it, you need to be on 9.1 SP5 in order to get to 9.5. So this may involve multiple upgrades depending on what version a person is running. If not they would have just put that you needed to be on at least 7.8.5 to upgrade to 9.5. It is a bit confusing and I think they should add that clarification to…
  • I have created a custom property and the only place I can see it is in the custom property tool. I have populated the new field with info. Shouldn't I be able to see this new field in the system manager when I look at node details? Thanks PS Also if I open up the database, I see that the column has been added and the info…
  • Anyone?? This doesn't bother anyone else?
  • Below is the error I am getting. I spaced out the reports by 5 minutes which I thought had fixed the problem, but then this morning again one failed. I created an account with no password and that did not help. If I go in and set them for like 5 minutes in the future, they seem to run fine. Leave them alone until the next…
  • Ok, looks like now it wont even do the run now option. I have found that if I click on the link, it takes me to the login page, so I think that is a problem. I have the option set to login in and put in a user and pass that I know works. I have also tried leaving a TS session open and report scheduler running, so I don't…
  • I have yet to upgrade to version 8, but was wondering if anyone is successfully monitoring the backplane of a 6500? This CLI command is sh catalyst6000 traffic-meter. I used to know the OID, but have missed placed it. EDIT: sysTrafficMeter Oid 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.32.1.2 iso . org . dod . internet . private . enterprises .…
  • Ahha, thanks got it now.
  • I went into NPM and went to Active Alerts and check to temporarily disable all actions for all alerts and they have not gone away after about an hour. Is there some place else I should be looking? From what I see, the system manager and NPM are both the same program. Thanks
  •  Mine always says this no matter what happens or what I do ;)
  • I use Firedaemon. You can download a free version that will setup and install one service, or for $25 you can use it for unlimited versions. Works well. Rpereda Running it as a service allows it to always collect data. That way if you reboot your server and don't log in and open up Netmon, it is still collecting stats.
  • Environment before upgrade. NPM 12.1, NTA 4.2.2, VMAN 7.1, IPAM 4.5.0, NCM 7.6, SAM 6.4, SRM 6.4 First about a month ago I started preparing and moved our main NPM/Orion from 2008 server to 2016. Then a few weeks ago moved NTA from 2008 to 2016. Our SQL was/is already on a new platform being supported. We used to have STM…
  • Great, thanks, that is doing what I want in a way. It would have been nice to have it all on one sheet, but at least I have it. This brings up another question though. If my link to an office goes down, then that is going to affect the availability percentages of the servers in that office correct? I am guessing it would…
  • Not sure if anyone else has done it this way yet, but this is what I am doing. I put the links right after the Node Status in the same row, so it looks like: Node Status (green dot) Node status is Up. [Telnet][HTTP][HTTPS] Granted this can not be used on all nodes, but it is there if you need it. Edit the…
  • In one of my reports on the Time Frame tab I set it to last 30 days. Then on the Filter Results tab I have two lines that narrow it down to working hours for me of 8am - 6pm. Records where Time of Day (24 hour format) is less than 08:00 Records where Time of Day (24 hour format) is greater than or equal to 18:00 I use this…
  • Ah nevermind, I see now that if I change a chart on one device it changes it for all devices.
  • I see where I can individually change each chart to the sample rate I want, but I am looking to either make the default sample to 5 mins or be able to change all my current charts to 5. I have looked up and down, in the admin section, under Customize Views and don't see a "Custom Chart" option. I am looking for an easy way…
  • I'm running version 11.0.1 and if I look at say a server, go to Vitals Stats tab, click on the Memory Used dial, it shows a graph. At the top of the graph the bold title is the server name. Right under that in smaller print it says "Total Percent Memory Used - Total Memory 4.0 GB."

  • I'm trying to do this and not having any luck. The threads I have looked at from searching haven't helped. I can get multiple nodes under one undp, but as this thread states I would like to reverse that. In 10.7 there is no longer a undp custom chart. There is a multiple undp poller chart but that doesn't seem to do what I…
  • I talked to tech support and they said they have seen that before on servers running W2K SP3 and that is what I was on. I applied SP4 yesterday morning and everything is still good this morning. I will post if anything turns up. Edit: SP4 did not solve the problem.

  • Hhmm, not sure. There is nothing recorded in the eventvwr. DB maintenance is set to run at 2:15am which I think was default and the total space usage shows 630mb. If I can figure out how to stop it from running tonight I will and see if it locks up again.

  • I installed 7.1 over 7 and knock on wood have not seen or had any major issues yet. I did not stop any services. I did not install the SQL part again, just NPM and I did it via a TS session. One thing that did happen was after the reboot and I went through the setup part, it wiped out some custom web pages I did. I had…

  • The more I use it, it is 3 clicks to get to any of the modules Summary pages.
  • I think this might have to do with TCP windowing, but not sure. I have been looking at using WAN Killer myself to do some MPLS testing and was told to use UDP and not TCP because of this windowing. I don't know a lot about it and haven't read up on it yet. Maybe someone else will chime in with some clear information…
  • I found my own answer to question #1. I just open my original maps from the previous map folder and save them with the original name (or the name it fills in when opened) and after a refresh they link up.
