Doubt I can attend on both days. Is there an agenda or schedule to help me choose a day?
-
Ditto: we use 8x8 so the ability to monitor it would be a win
-
oh dear, that was my Solarwinds Account Sales Engineer..... :-(

To add to the chorus: Me to... I'm currently running V9.0 and I've seen this problem in previous versions. I only see ths issue about once a week so its not a big deal. Usually just refreshing the page seems to fix the problem. Andrew

I was told last week that Orion V9 would be Q3 this year (but that won't have alert suppression). From reading the thread above I guess we're looking at a 6 (?)month wait after that for a version supporting alert suppression. (6 months is just my guess!)

Success at last I've added a couple more monitored ports and am finaly seeing some broadcast traffic. As you predicted (and I suspected) there's not much (which is a good thing!) but I can now see it. Thanks for all your help!
-
Am I positve those subnets are seeing broadcast traffic ? No, What I'm attempting to do is discover the level of broadcast traffic on the LAN. Potentialy it could be very low. Most of the remote sites I'm looking at have 10-20 people mainly using Citrix with no local servers. Are all ports being monitored? No, I'm only…

Brandon, I gather that IP SLA is the new version of the old VoIP module. Does it suport HP wireless kit out of the box? Thanks Andrew
-
Is the HP J9051A Wireless Services zl Module supported by the NPM wireless module yet? I'm not buying the wireless monitoring module until the J9051a is supported!

As far as I can tell I have a similar situation to cmsmith: I have an AD group of operations staff who use NPM. I'd like that group to be able to acces the configs collected by NCM. I'm willing to modified entries in a table in the sqldb as the original post seems to indicate. Just can't find the table :-(
-
Some progress: I'm seeing some results for 169.254.255.255 and some for 255.255.255.255. But nothing for my 192.168 subnets.. :-(
-
Thanks, I'll give it a go :)

Job's a good'un :-)

I was upgrading from 4.0 and logged in as the Local machine administrator. (This is probably a seperate problem but having gone on to (a) install the NCM service pack (b) run the Integration with Orion package and (c) upgraded Orion to V9.1 (all done as Local Admin) I'm finding that I can't get to the details of any node…

It's now a week on from when I posted this and I can now see 6 weeks of data in my report. So the report should have all the detail required in 7 weeks time.... The fix was to keep hourly data for (in my case) 100 days. (Must remember to keep an eye on the size of the database )
-
an uneducated guess ! :-)
-
No joy In Flow Navigator, I'm selecting a detail view, then selecting a node and interface. I then select 'Endpoint' , type in a filter of *.*.*.255 and click 'Add Filter'. At that point I get the errror 'Please enter a valid IP addess or host name' I'm running NTA 3.10.0 on NPM 10.5
-
AHA! I've just discovered where to setup IP Address Groups. This may be the solution.....
-
Nice , but I guess this will be 6 months (or more?) down the road? A workround would be nice...
-
Brandon, aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhh!!!!!! I'm not happy but thanks for the info. Please add my vote in your development tasks list to recover these lost features Thanks Andrew
-
Just to add to the chorus: I've got this problem too and would like to see this feature asap!

Retain Detail Stats10 DaysRetain Hourly Stats30 DaysRetain Daily Stats365 DaysRetain Events90 Days I think the problem is revealed: presumably I have to retain hourly stats for 3 months, rather than the current 30 days, to allow my report to query between 07: and 19:00 each day?

Excellent! You are my hero! :-) I don't remember seeing the "<userid> Performance Monitor Settings" option in 8.0, think it's new (or at least changed) in 8.5 (?) Thanks

Sorry for the delayed response: other calls on my time....sigh I've created and assigned the following template: <Configuration-Management Device="HP Switch 2900 Stack Commander" SystemOID="1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.7.11.69"> <Commands> <Command Name="Reboot" Value="reset board{CRLF}y${CRLF}"/> <Command Name="EnterConfigMode"…

ET, Thanks for the reply (I seem to be working you hard today!) I tried to use Traffic View Builder but I couldn't seem to restrict the view to a subnet e.g. 192.168.99.0 / 24. It seemed to only offer Class A, B or C groups. My whole network is a subneted class B so not very useful. Similar problem with the IP Address…

To ask the obvious question: can you hint at when the next major version will be released?
-
Just a me too.. Had the same problem: couldn't login after upgrade from CIrrus 4.0 to NCM. Your instruction fixed the problem. Looks like a bug in the upgrade process, though I imagine you've already established that and informed the developers....?
-
Dnney, Thanks for confirming that 8.0.2 can be virtualised. I've already harangued my manager about the apparent lack of maintenance. I suspect there's been a 'clerical error' since I remember ordering maintenance when we upgraded from 100 to 250 nodes. Regards Andrew

I can't see any message in the Events resource. I didn't say the service crashes, merely that (according to the system event log) it hangs. I do see an event log message about a minute later saying that the service has entered the running state. A such everything works, however after a reboot, I get the annoying popup on…

I finally got round to opening a support ticket. They had the answer within 3 minutes ! The NIC in the VM has to be monitored (i.e. selected in 'List Reources') for Orion to be able to detect that the system is a virtual machine. I had a policy of NOT monitoring the VM NIC. That policy is now reversed... Andrew
