This can be achieved either via web-based reports or with SQL query. What version of NPM you are on my friend? Just scroll all the way down on any page any copy-paste the very last info in footer section

I have these: * Top Level Service Status Map * All Nodes * Links to core reports * Active Alerts
-
Combined bandwidth utilisation? Would you paste screenshot please?
-
yes, if your walk is working fine, you have same ports and same community string and your PING works from polling engine but SNMP test still would not work - you can do the following: 1. login to your customer portal 2. click on log a ticket 3. describe your problem 4. click submit 5. allow few hours... have a coffee
-
* Add "Top XX Volumes by Disk Space Used" resource to your page * Change maximum number of volumes to display to 10 * Go to EDIT and do the following... as per screenshot * Also, use "Show Filter Examples" for more inspirational ideas

First, add this node to SolarWinds as SNMP (I am sure you did this) Next - run "List Resources" > Hopefully this will bring on hardware for you Add hardware resource on your node page if you haven't done it already. It is called "Current Hardware Health" Then, if you are on latest NPM 11.5 AND if you have managed to add…

How about using "delay" option in Advance Alerting? Or additional checks on a component level?
-
[UPDATE] Hmm... Scheduled Task Monitoring doesn't want to work for me. -- I went through "List Resources", I can see Windows Scheduled Tasks option, I select, submit... and nothing new appears anywhere. I go back to "List resources" - it is still un-ticked. -- Have rebooted SQL and App Polling Server (single poll) - same…

SolarWinds is a platform, it is not a tool. Whatever is possible or not possible depends solely on you - your creativity and your willingness to come up with solution no matter what. ... Is there anything you cannot fry in frying pan?
-
I take it as you want to have links on your node landing (summary) page or any other sub-page for this node. If yes - all you need to do is to add a [Custom HTML] resource and use variables above as suggested by d09h to construct your links.

Would love to understand this as well. We recently had few devices started to send millions of traps, which has made the whole NPM unresponsive. I have implemented report and alert since to alert in case we have too many traps form one particular device. Below SQL report will give you devices which have more than 100 traps…

Not sure what you mean by: ...making sure that none of the old rubbish that we currently have has been long gone... I guess you just wanted to say that you don't want any of your old "rubbish" in your new environment. If that's the case - I would probably consider new fresh install and then simply manually migrate…

Can you get this "configuration register settings" value via SolarWinds UI? Can you send screenshot? Chances are - if this data is in DB - it is dead easy
-
We do this by having a separate alert, which we call PROBLEM RECORDS. It will flag any repetitive alerts. It is based on SQL and I can share script. What version of NPM you are on?
-
bump up again! Guys, anyone can advise where do I find these in SQL? Where this data is stored? I really need to know to be able to run few custom reports on interfaces (which I am about to share as well ) Thanks, Alex

bump up!

Oh man, these are core foundation for the entire framework. I have not many of them, but I do believe that 99% of stuff can be automated just be using custom properties AND ... it is easy to do from the user perspective, which leads to much fewer mistakes and more robust, reliable and consistent monitoring environment For…

I have found that the below template works for me in almost any case (obviously credits to Richard Letts for sharing the above): TRIGGER: SELECT Table.ID as NetObjectID, Table.Name as Name FROM Table --------------------------------------------------- WHERE <YOUR SQL QUERY> RESET: SELECT Table.ID as NetObjectID, Table.Name…
-
Hi Richard, I have noticed that in RESET you didn't include GROUP BY nor HAVING statements. I am not SQL Guru and I have a query with similar structure. What I have found that it would work ok even if I leave these two in RESET condition. Are there any negative implications of leaving them there?
-
Thank you. This logic has helped me to work out reset SQL statement for my complex advanced SQL alert with few joints.
-
Oh, really?! This is because they are busy focusing on products delivery, continuous and never ending improvements and outstanding customer service, as well as community, fun, and all sort of things which goes with it... rather then worry what a bunch of critics and researches are telling about them.
-
same question here guys. Any way to clean it up without removing a node? I don't want to lose stats and re-do all maps
-
No, there is no way to do this out-of-the-box the way you have described it. I suggest you implement overall CPU alert when total CPU gets higher than 70-80%. If it does - there is a great chance only 1-2 processes will be responsible for it. Alternatively you need to setup monitor for every single process on every single…

anyone? please...

On your second point - I guess what you want to do is to trigger SolarWinds alert when you have an email in your IT Alert mailbox from different system. If this is the case - I recommend you considering AlertCentral product to replace this mailbox in the first place. AlertCentral integrates with SAM very nicely and can…
-
This can be done by inserting variables into your email body: Alert Details: ${N=Alerting;M=AlertDetailsUrl} Object Details: ${N=SwissEntity;M=DetailsUrl} Node Details: ${N=SwissEntity;M=Node.DetailsUrl}
-
Three hundred nodes not that many. I would do this by going to Manage Nodes, expanding nodes one by one and selecting not needed volumes - then deleting them. You do not need to "List Resources" on every single node. This will be clean solution, but will required maybe 30-60 minutes of your focused energy to go through 300…
-
Do you mean you want to alert on Error Events in your Log? If so - you need to: 1. Create new template with "Windows Event Log Monitor" component > configure rules to trigger on all errors (or you can define a scope as well by using various filters and settings within component) > configure threshold to report on events…

All tabs can be customized via SETTINGS > CUSTOMIZE MENU BARS. You can also create your own ones. I am not sure if visible TABs name can be changed though, such as HOME, NETWORK, etc Then, you can assign your custom tabs per user/per group via SETTINGS > MANAGE ACCOUNTS > EDIT > DEFAULT MENU BAR AND VIEWS
-
Looks cool, especially menu - now like Orion Platfrom ... but I think it is too much space wasted on top for logo .... and remaining white space on top has no value
