aLTeReGo, may I please possibly confirm one scenario which I am not quite sure about expected behaviour. We have stretched subnet between 2 DCs. SolarWinds HA cluster sitting in it as well as SQL always on cluster: * DC1 (active poller + active SQL) * DC2 (standby poller + read-only SQL). So, my question is - what if…

Just bumping up for those who didn't spot that awesome article yet. Thanks aLTeReGo

You have few options: (1) Add this node as SNMP device and Run "List Resources". Fingers cross SolarWinds will detect something, but usually not everything. You can see all Hardware that SolarWinds was able to pick-up by adding "Current Hardware Health" resource on the node page. (2) You can create custom UnDP pollers.…

please elaborate, describe in more details what you are doing and what is your goal, stick some screenshots - they will help

You can create Application Template with SNMP query by providing specific OID, based on either GET or GET NEXT. I don't think you have GET TABLE option, so, you would probably need to add all 80 disks individually by OIDs

Nice replies here - thank you guys. Here is my approach: JFDI ... works exceptionally great. I hate reading manuals and I find it very boring to study admins guide and other stuff which I might never need in practical world. Waste of time - you only have 80 odd years to live, ~100 if you eat well! When you buy a new gadget…

I have lost "LINKS" short-cuts. Is this functionality still available somewhere? Also, I always wanted to see a list of all documents as a list, which were published by THWACK members in a particular product category... Can I do this by filtering something somewhere? Thanks, Alex

Yes, there is a way to do so How To Monitor Split-Scope DHCP Pool

Basically... i need an Inbox alert on the following:

If I were you I would simplify: 1. Remove your group of those three under "none" condition and add them straight on top, next to your "node is equal to Down" 2. Change "equal to" statements to "not equal to". In this case this will make it much more readable and simple to understand without referring back to this thread…

check your group settings rollup mode:

Hey my friend, I am dealing with similar Challenge at the moment. I wrote you an extensive reply here, but then I thought it deserves a separate thread on its own - so, I create it. Please refer to the below and comment any further suggestions, issues, feedback and thoughts - I think we are in the same boat High…

First of all SolarWinds is not very "real-time" monitoring. 1 minute is a minimum polling. Default I believe is 5 minutes. So, even if you hold-on with firing alerts for 1 minute - all it means that you will get a maximum of one additional poll to rule-out false-positive spikes. I cannot advise you about polling intervals…

OK, I have no idea what has happened here and I could not work out what has gone wrong. To workaround this issue I have attached ESX Monitoring Template to my hosts and have used multiple statistic chart to display statistics for multiple hosts - works very well and I can see the whole stack on one page (even better than…

Hey guys, probably out of topic, but can I perform basic math in Display Settings? I just need to multiply value by 1000 before i output it. Can this be done?

F5?

How about making a report for it instead - seems like few minutes job here with web-based reporting. Why do you need a dedicated view for this?

I am not sure whether it is a bug or by design, but if you want to remove 200 characters restriction just do the following (info provided by SolarWinds Support): 1. Log in to the Orion machine 2. Edit the C:\inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion\APM\Controls\EditResourceControls\EditApplicationsByCurrentStatus.ascx 3. Remove the…

Based on your screenshots your scope will include everything: Pick a vegetable from the basket and you can eat it only if it is not Carrot OR if it is not Apple... think about it - whatever you will pick up - you are ok to consume it - Carrot is not Apple and Apple is never a Carrot - so, you will never die from hunger…

People, If I go shopping.. I will presumably give away my points, right? If so - will my ranking drop as well?

Guys, let me clarify one thing - so, what we are doing here is getting the average over 15 minutes and then comparing it to threshold. Is this correct? Whereas in Leon's solution we do not calculate average, but instead - getting last CPU reading together with number of queued threads to work out contingencies. Correct?

What do you mean? I can see many reporting options in Report Scheduler, including HTML:

What you are trying to achieve? How this report will help you to be better off?
-
I guess you would be better of with support ticket. Don't waste your time. This is quite fresh topic, no much experience around. P.S. Hope you have made a backup/snapshot

Forget SolarWinds for a second ... How would you normally know which server your services are at the moment? What would you need to check? Are there any events logged when it rolls? Are there any other services or traffic kicks in somewhere? How about logs? Would they indicate which one is active at the moment? ... once…

What kind of forecasting my Friend? Latest version of SAM has pretty awesome Capacity Forecasts worth investigating: * CPU Capacity Forecast * Memory Capacity Forecast * Volume Capacity Forecast * Node Resource for Capacity Forecast

Solution: WHERE (AuditingEvents.AuditEventMessage LIKE '%changed custom property%') AND (DATEDIFF(minute, AuditingEvents.TimeLoggedUtc, GETUTCDATE()) < 5)

The answer is under START > SolarWinds > SolarWinds License Manager

Hi, Did you ever get anywhere with polling device data from EqualLogic?
