You can have a mix of both. If you want anyone to be able to use WPTA, you can set up a Domain\anyone account. If there is no domain accoutn setup in Orion, they will be prompted to login. As long as they have a regualr Orion user name and PW, all should be fine. Our datacom crew logs into Orion using WPTA, whille out DB…

Thanks Brandon!! That app gave me exactly the info I was looking for. I was unaware of this app. Was this added in 9.5? Anyway, thanks a ton for pointing me in the right direction.

Baker, Are you still runing IPAMv1.0? no service packs? If so,.. then using Mozilla should enable that "greyed out" save button. Once I upgraded to SP1, (SP2 is out now) I no longer had the save button issue.

I agree withthe consensus that it should not matter what browser is being used, as onec the website goes, it goes for everyone. This does seem to be directly related to the w3wp.exe as everytime the website craps out, w3wp is running around 200 - 300,000k in the task manager. Ending w3wp seems to do the trick, but to be…

Thank you both very much!! I suppose I should have spent a little more time fiddleing with the admin console, before runnning off and posting. Thanks!!

I am having the exact same issue as teh topic creator. I have followed the admin guide, step for step, in setting this up. Got to the last step of adding users using the DOMAIN\user method. It wont let me continue without adding a password. After reading these posts, I added a dummy password, then cleared it out, which…

Thanks Peter. I was wondering the same thing and Andrew and was about to post. Your workaround works great. It was terrible when you would be on page 5, make a change, and it shoots you back to page one. Now all my IPs in the range are listed on one page! Yeah, the page takes a few extra seconds to load, but the beniefit…

Add me to the list. EST all syslogs are 4 hours ahead. Time is synced across the network.
-
Same here. It lists NCM 5.0 SP2, when infact we are running 5.5 sp2.
-
Boy, this is getting too deep. Hopefully someone can help me with this fairly simple filter, because I am having no luck. I have to types of subnets: Server and DHCP. I want my IPAM homepage to list the topX server scopes on the right, and topX DHCP scopes on the left. Easy enough to add the TopX resource, but I am really…

Chris, I believe what the poster was suggesting was to create a custom property, using the custom property editor. For you situation, I would call the custom property "hardware" Then populate that new custom feild with either physical or virtual values. Then when you are creating your report, just add another field, Custom…

For those that have upgraded both NPM and NCM, does NCM have a better Real Time Config Change alert feature? The automated Emails need to be adjusted to allow us users to define the email guts. I detest having to see these lines for every config change email: Solarwinds, Inc. Orion Network Configuration Manager Real‑Time…

Unfortunately, I think I spoke to soon when I said this was resolved. I am still running into the same issue. I have the config Archieve folder set up on a network share. NCM can see the share, and when I click on the "export all configs..." options inside the config archieve settings, all configs move to the netwrok…

I would like to chime in and state that I also enjoy using the SM as oppsed to the web. Is it possible to keep the basics of SM, while exploring the benifits of the web GUI? Managing nodes using the Web GUI is great in a pinch, but the speed and ease of the SM is by far better. As mentioned before, this is essecially the…

SO I think I finally got this set up correctly, but still have a question. I followed all the steps, added http://Orion Server as a trusted site, added the DOMAIN\users accounts with dummy passwords, then I removed the passwords after the accounts were set up. WPTA seems to be working fine, but if a pull up a login page,…

Skip, I believe the answer is suitable. You can create a report to only show the flow you are interested in, and post that to the summary page. For instance, I can have several reports displayed on my NTA summary page. Maybe one report for top domains from Netflow source A and one from Netflow source B, etc.…
-
Fogot to mention, that this switch does not have any interfaces being monitored in Orion. Just CPU.
-
Hello all, This has been quite confusing. We have implemented Netflow on all our 2821 routers. It was pretty easy. Now the 6513 we have is a whole other story. none of the suggested answers posted here work. ip flow ingress layer2-switched vlan X is not even an option. Once I hit "layer2" when typing the command, it is not…

Thanks Yann! That is exactly what I was looking for. This must be new to 9.5? Thanks again!

In another thread, a thwack member pointed me towards opening regedit and digging around in there. I found the version for NTA< IPAM, APM, but could not find any setting for NCM. Also, this is a ridiculous method for determing which version we are at. The last thing we want to do is dig around in regedit. SW, please make…

I am trying to get Windows pass through to work but am running into issues. We are runniong 9.1 SP3. I followed the steps in the admin guide. I made the chnages to the IIS service on the Orion Server. (unchecked anon, check Windows security, applied) I then ran the config wiz for the website portion. All went well. Now…

Do you possibly have view limitations set up? Or any filters set up on the GUI? Off topic - my syslog is 4 hours ahead since 9.5? anyone else?
-
Bran, I would set up the report entirely different. I would start with creating a new report. Select the current status of Nodes, interfaces, etc template. Select the following fileds. Vender Icon sort *, Node name sort ascending, IP address sort *, Poller Name sort *, Status sort * Filter results you may have a way to…

Wow! That is NOT good. So, if we integrate NCM with NPM, we lose the ability to search configs (one of NCMs best features if you ask me). Time to "un-integrate" and have NCM be its own website again. We need this feature. Dissapointed is an understatment. i hope this feature gets put into the NEXT release, as it was a…

Thanks for the quick reply! I found exactly what you were referring to. However, I find it a little funny that THIS is the only method to find out what version of NTA I am running?!? There has to be a better way. Also, I noticed that NCM was missing from that Reg Setting. So I still cannot find out which version of NCM I…
-
How do you quickly tell which version of NTA, IPAM, APM, NCM are running? I cant seem to find thisinfo anywhere?
-
I agree. We get so many Orion email alerts, that by mid afternoon, they all start looking the same. These email alerts are for expected events, such as high circuit utilization, high CPU, an avalance of UnDP alerts, etc. It would be great if somehow there was an option to select importance. For instance, when a router goes…

I have the exact situation as Topic Creator. It seems that if you have NPM and NCM running on the same server, you have to make the choice of which trap / syslog server you want to use. NPM will give great visibility and be easily displayed on the website. NCM will give the ability for real time change alerts. It seems you…

Thanks dso much for the heads up. I search Thwack earlier today for anything related to my issue and did not come across the thread you pointed out. That topic creator is having the exact same issue as me. Unfortunatley, their suggested answers did not effect my situation. Here is what I posted on the other thread, incase…

Awesome! Thank you sir. I had a feeling the feature was already there, and I just wasnt thinking out clearly. Thanks again!
